I installed AVG V9 and he found a few trogans, erased, and now the firewall remains on no worries mate! also tried this program with all pieces of virus on elephantboy etc etc, but it wasn't big found nothing!

    Hello

What do you use for security?

If you are using an Internet Security Suite, it will have its own firewall and disables the default Windows Firewall.

And you should have only one firewall to avoid problems related to the operating system.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

    You have not installed SP1?

If so, try a direct download of SP2.

  • surcurity essentials does not start, and the windows firewall does not illuminate

    Hello

I have a problem, he seems to have had a virus on my pc. Essentials of security does not illuminate and the windows firewall will not also turn on, I tried to use the tool to "fix" windows and it doesn't solve the problem.

the original virus seemed to rename its self as a program existing and renamed the oringinal by a space in the name, for example "adobearm.exe" became "adobearm .exe" there is a space before the dot.

The virus called his free adobearm.exe icon because it is a yellow / orange with a letter H, at the Center

different file name her seemed to be part of the virus included "ag7yl5x8.exe".

If you tried to close them in the task manager that they just either came back or a different file name would appear in the list.

I also couldn't do a windows update, but I think as the tool to 'fix' as cured this problem.

    Can someone help me please.

    Thank you

There is no threat detected. For which I am sure that I use it for some time now about a year and a half. I got no software or hardware change recently. Also, I'm not able to update my Windows Firewall settings. When I try to change the settings there is a message: Firewall Windows cannot change some of your settings. Error code 0 x 80070424. Please help as I have tried to go well as each answer or the Forum but without success. What is a bug MSE or a real problem.

When you have imported the registry key, you probably do not change the permissions on the registry keys.

    Reach

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\BFE

    Right click on it -permissions

    Click ADD and type

    Everyone, and then click ok

    Now click on all

Below, you have the permission for users

Select full control, and then click ok

DO the same for the "reg" MPSSVC so key which also returns access denied.

Make sure also canceled to start service to invite you, he should be admin/elevated command prompt.

Also, you may need a system restart after changing the permissions on the registry key.

    I hope this helps.

ActiveX warnings occur only on pages consulted on the spot.  It's one thing for IE browser security to help protect your computer against malware.  When you upload your site to the remote server, your pages live will not show the warnings of the ActiveX.

  • in 1/4 top of the window, mouse will not open items

In firefox mouse window does not open the items at the top of page 1/3 of the window. Normally arrow turns into a hand pointer. This barely 1/3 top of the open window. In the above lines items page open.

This problem can be caused by that extended the Yahoo! toolbar or extension of Babylon also well down and covers the top of the browser window and therefore links and buttons in this part of the screen not clickable.

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

  • Slider in windows bars will not stay together but immediately slide upward.

I can't get the scroll bar on exploring or for the volume to hold.  He slides up, so I can't see and select files.  Moves the selection bar (to select a file), but I can't view the file is on, if the file does not fit in the current window.  Volume maximum rest and if I try to down it slips immediately up.  I tried to change the volume in Control Panel and on the windows taskbar.  This problem seems widespread on all windows.

    Hi James,

Thanks for the reply, but I found that it is my wireless mouse.  It turns out that the roller on the tope of the mouse has been stuck/pushed down and caused this to happen.  My battery kept running out pretty quickly and the issue of the slider bar has been extremely boring.  I don't know if I should buy any type of 'special' battery as it may be related to the power of the mouse.  However, for the moment, everything's fine!   Moreover, I had already done all kinds of tests and cleanups.  I hope that this has improved the total functioning of the laptop.

    Thanks again!

  • The Windows Installer will not stop

I have vista64 and when I use some programs, especially my HP MFP, the windows installer appears every time over and over again. The problem is not with the printer drivers, because I replaced my printer and installed the new software and the installation window returns.

  • Trying to run Hallmark Card V2 and it "goes beyond" the window and will not reduce in size

I am new to Windows 7.  An old program I have and seems to work - so-Hallmark Card Studio V2 is above all designed for Windows XP.  "However, when you open the program it" overflows the monitor window and the symbol of "boxes" at the top right normally used to enlarge/reduce the size of the window is covered on mainly off screen on the monitor.  So I can't minimize the window to fit something like 3/4 of the monitor.  I tried all the keyboard traits that affect Windows, but the only thing that works is to reduce the window to nothing or on-screen "overfull".  I tried to run the program under different settings from earlier Versions, but which has no effect either.

Any suggestion is appreciated.  Thank you!

    WEC

Your best bet is to contact the developer of Hallmark card because we have no idea if it's even compatible with win 8 and knows virtually nothing about his works.

  • Windows Defender will not stay.

Recently, I realized that I didn't have Windows Defender on my new computer, and it was on my old.  So I downloaded.  Now, every day I put on (if I remember) which I didn't do before.  I have Windows XP and AVG (free) for protection.  I don't have Vista.  When I was reading the other posts, most of them had to do with Vista and McAfee.  I need help for my computer.  How can I keep enabled?  I went to tools, properties, etc... and he said: it's on, but then the next day, I have to restart.

I recommend that you leave Windows Defender installed, this way if you have any questions, it's a more resources at your disposal. I use AVG and Yes AVG disables Windows Defender, however, I recently received a very bad virus and after working hours to clean and remove the files manually, Windows Defender has found the final key file.  I used AVG and Norton both ran own scans. Finally, I ran Windows Defender and it finds a file viral severe level 1. After that Windows Defender fixed and the content of the file, everything is 100% new.

She is already here, just keep it as a safety net :-)

Copy davidhk129 answer to the question of Windows Defender won't start do not:

    Here's a direct copy...

    If you have
one of the following AV, antivirus, programs installed, it will stop your Windows Defender. Purpose of these AVs have their own advocates. 2 defenders on the same machine will create conflicts.
    Bottom line: it's ok.
    It's normal.
List of AVs which will stop Windows Defender:

    Norton
    McAfee
    AVG
    Microsoft Security
    Essentials

If you don't have AV programs above, here's how to restart Windows Defender:

Start button > in the search box, type Services > press the Enter key > scroll to find Windows Defender, click on it >...
topic status , it must be said... Has begun
under Startup Type, it must be said... Automatic
If it does not say that, right click on Windows
    Defender > click Properties >
in Startup Type, click on the pointer to the right and select automatic
to the service status, click Start
    Click OK when finished.
