The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. Vista Home Premium
I can't install new programs, updates or software (for printer), without having this error:
"The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if Windows Installer is not installed properly. »
I tried without success that all suggested here, including the download of Windows Installer 4.5, which gave a message that it does not apply to my computer. I have Vista 32 bit Home Premium.
Having the same problem I have tried most of the above steps, then decided to down load http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/win-services/vista/msiserver.reg and installed according to the instructions and Bingo, I managed to down load the file ' Kies from Samsung.
Thanks for the help

I tried to install iTunes, but he said that "the Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode or if Windows Installer is not installed properly. Call support personnel. "They gave me similar messages by other programs I've tried to install as well.
Because I was not running Windows in safe mode in time, I assumed that the installer was not installed correctly. So I tried to download from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en
But then I got error messages like "this update does not apply to your system" and "not enough memory is available to process this command." I tried all the links and none of them worked for me. I'm running a Vista Home Premium 64 bit, and I 2.38 GB of available RAM, so I don't think that the lack of memory is the problem here. What should I do?
1.] I had a previous version of iTunes, but I got rid of it with Revo Uninstaller.
I was looking around and I found this: http://www.vistax64.com/vista-installation-setup/96680-repair-windows-installer-service-vista-all-versions-2.html
I followed the direction of the last message (by F'n Vista) and changed the value of WOW64 Registry and now iTunes has installed perfectly and works now. I'll try to install other programs that I got hurt with previously. Thank you very much for your help! :)

Troubleshoot Windows install

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2438651
Substitute:
Unregister Windows Installer and then reregister Windows Installer. To do this, follow these steps:
1. in the menu 'Start', click on ' execute:.»
2. in the "Open" box, type "msiexec /unreg", and then press ENTER.
3. in the menu 'Start', click 'run '.
4. in the "Open" box, type "msiexec/regserver", and then press ENTER.
If this is insufficient, the I would say to install the Windows Installer Cleanup utility and run that to remove the Java remains Setup files that can cause problems with your current installation.

Original title: Please help, almost nothing works: video, audio, internet, most of the programs.
It is a long story and it arrived a bit at random so I have no idea where to start, but I'm going. While trying to install autodesk software, I received the message: Error 1719. Install the WIndows service could not be accessed. This can happen if windows install is not properly installed. Contact your support team. I didn't know what to do so I rebooted and that's where the trouble started. I'm unable to play any audio or video. I am unable to connect to the internet as there is no connection available, but I'd just been connecting to my wireless home network earlier. I am unable to do a system restore because I got the message: System Restore is not working properly on this system. A volume shadow copy Service component has encountered an unexpected error. See the log even application for more information. (0 x 80042302). I think that this problem may have to do with a corrupt registry or some proxy problems or something. I tried to reinstall drivers, but I'm unable to access my cd drive to launch the backup drive drivers provided by microsoft. Please help me, I dual boot ubuntu is how I can access the internet. It must be a software problem if I have my other OS works perfectly. NEEED HELP SO BADLY. THANKS in advance.
