  I have just returned from a long assignment and finally took an iMac.  I've been running Lightroom 2.7 on my MacBook Pro, keeping all the image on a separate external hard drive files.

  How can I import my image hierarchy (about 8500 images, so not huge) in my second version of Lightroom on the new computer?  I want to assure you that all metadata and keywords categories image are imported as well.  I will continue to work on the external hard drive.

  It's pretty easy:

  Just install LR on the second computer and copy the .lrcat file from the old computer to the new and then open it using LR on the new computer. Make sure the external hard drive is attached.

  He has a record that lives in the same folder as your catalog file, named .lrdata. This package contains all the previews of your images that are displayed when you are in the generated Lightroom library Module. If you do not copy it to the new machine, LR it will rebuild, but it will take more time than would the copy operation, so you should copy this folder across, too.

  Under Settings/preferences/editing presets, there is a button that will tell you your presets folder. If you have created a preset of your choice, you can find them here and copy them to the equivalent location on the new computer.

  It is probably easier to re - specify your preferences, but you can look in the FAQ for this forum and find where they are being held on a Mac and move the preferences file, if you prefer.

  I'm currently subscribed creative cloud and have Dreamweaver on my work computer. I want it now on a laptop, that I'll take away - use on a single computer only at a time. It is, when I install on the laptop, how do I activate it? I installed the "demo" version and don't know how to "say" the second computer I use the program as a creative cloud Subscriber and not as a potential buyer.

  Initially I had Adobe Design Premium CS3 on two computers with license a single user.  One on my desk for work and a copy on my laptop when I travel and I still work.  I've recently upgraded to Adobe Master Collection CS4 that includes Prem Pro... since I'm working now with video.

  Here's my dilemma... All my CS3 update programs that are now CS4 run on my desktop... but Prem Pro does not work on my second computer which is my cell phone (works on my desktop).  He said that the license has expired.  Well, since I paid full price for this and have a license full activated and am registered I find it confusing to say the least.

  Any suggestions?  I'm resistant to call their support line since I have concluded that Adobe training of their technicians in India is next to nill and they don't have any idea of Adobe software beyond what they are film script to say.

  It * may * be for 2 processors. These 2 processors MUST be on the same physical motherboard.
