  • How can I import groups of Windows Mail contacts in Windows Live Mail?

I work in a small office where we have computers running Windows Vista and using Windows Mail (version 6.0.6000.16388).  We have hundreds of contacts and a few contact groups on these computers.

A few months ago, we got two new computers running Windows XP and Windows Live mail (version 2009, version 14.0.8089.0726).  Other computers at the office always have Vista and the other version of Windows Mail.

I was able to export our hundreds of contacts and import them into Windows Live Mail for new computers have all the contacts... but I was unable to find a way to import groups.

These groups are all very large and comprise mostly/entirely out of contacts that do not have individual contact entries.

I've been Googling for a solution to this problem.  The page nearest you, that I could find was this:

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/3818-Windows-Live-Mail-import-Vista-contacts-contact-groups.html

I was very discouraged when I saw the big red warning to the top of the page:

    ---------------
In the Groups of Contact with Vista, only contacts who are also included as normal Contacts will be imported into Windows Live Mail. Contacts that have been created for the Contact Group only will not be imported into Windows Live Mail. You will need to write these down and add them manually in Windows Live Mail.
    ---------------

This pretty much described my situation exactly, but manually going through all groups, write all contacts, and then import them manually into two separate machines should always and is simply not an option.

Are there really no other way I can get these groups into Windows Live Mail?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you very much!

I have not actually tried this, but I think this method will work.

    1. get a free Live ID (or @hotmail.com or @live.com).

    2. install Windows Live Mail on Vista computer. During the installation, it will offer to signature with a Live ID. Do.

    3. the first performance of Windows Live Mail, it will be important to all contacts from Windows Mail. Give him enough time to synchronize all contacts with the web version of this Live ID.

    4. open Windows Live Mail on the new computer and then connect with the same Live ID. The automatic synchronization process will transfer in all contacts of the web version of this Live ID.

  • How to configure Windows Live Mail to send photos

I can't send pictures in Photoshop format.  He requested an audit of the code that I don't have.  I need to open the pictures in the format of Windows Live Mail.

Photoshop has no control on the Windows OS email application requirements. I think you will like the Forum of Microsoft. But while I'm Mac, not Windows and cannot say what will make Windows Mail, if you want to send pictures that are PSD files, you can try zipping the first. I don't know if you will be able to open them in Windows Live Mail. I don't know what it is. But the zip format might make it possible to send them a mail.

How to do a separate my my Hotmail Windows Live Mail.  They are synchronized.  If I delete items in Windows Live Mail, the same elements to hotmail are deleted.  I've tried everything.  When I go to a "contact us", Windows Live Mail comes up with the statement that there is another program in this area, so I can't communicate with them directly, can not find the program causing the problem.  So I copy the address of contact and go to my hotmail to achieve.

  • Issue of Windows Live Mail with SPAM and junk e-mail. When I block a sender, I always get an email from them.

The details are pretty easy. No matter how many times I click to block a source of junk mail I still get mail from the source. In short, the function block-spam does not work. I get the answer that the site has been blocked, but it is not. That's all. How can I get Windows Live Mail to block sources when I click

    the option of block source?

original title: can not block spam

Ridicule me. I had installed Windows Live Mail from a "last" Filehippo file. Problem ensued. I uninstalled [with Revo Uninstaller] and reinstalled through "Getting Started" in the start menu. No problem, everything is fine now. I learned my lesson the hard way though.

I was surprised how much my humble question generated activity. If my mishap and the solution in any case everyone outside, good help for them.
It's a kind of collateral damage of a reinstallation of the operating system. Installation, I replaced had lasted about a year, a record for me and would probably be still in place, if I had not made the mistake of dabbling with Acronis backup software I used on another computer with XP installed. There, it served a purpose, in Windows 7, it is a serious mistake. It replaces the built-in backup utility, and when inevitably corrupts it... both pis, Charlie.

  • After saving the emails from windows live mail, why not open them on my computer as the file extension is wlmail.fol?

After saving the emails from windows live mail, why not open them on my computer as the file extension is wlmail.fol?

wlmail.fol is a tiny text giving the name of the folder. The exported messages will have filenames like 00D13E83 - 000025DF.eml. If you don't see all of the files like this, your export probably did not work properly.

For a successful export, follow these directions:

    1. Set Windows Live Mail to work offline before starting.
    2. Create a temporary folder on your desktop * to contain the exported messages.
    3. In the Export Wizard, select the temporary folder, and then select all the folders.* *
    4. When it is complete, check that the number of files in each folder to the temporary folder is one more than the number of messages in the corresponding folder of WLMail.
    5. Copy the temporary file to its final destination.
If you use a reader not NTFS to do this, you will see a warning that certain file properties will not be copied files. This can be ignored.

    * Windows Live Mail do not work with files that are not on a local drive, as opposed to an external or network drive. This is avoided by using the office as a temporary folder location.
    * If you want to export the files sampled only, select each of them containing messages. Subfolders are not automatically selected by default.

  • My Windows Live Mail tells me I have 2 messages that failed and I can't send them or remove them.

I have Windows Live mail but my email address that I use regularly is through Road Runner.  Everything comes through Windows Live Mail. Friday, I sent an e-mail to a college where I work part-time.  I checked the sent box and she had not been sent.  I typed a new message with a few changes and sent it.  Once again, nothing in the sent box.

I checked every folder to my wife and my emails and it was not found.  That evening, I opened my email and I received a message that says: I got 2 emails not sent not and that there were some errors in the treatment.  He said it would be set up my email.  Today, I called Road Runner, which is my main mail server.  Their representative phone took me by all folders that I had, I guess, their storage and these 2 emails were not there.

He told me that he was not able to correct himself and gave me a phone number for Live mail 800-642-7676.  I talked to a lady and she told me that she couldn't fix it. itself and gave me this website. I thought I would talk by mail with a factory technician but I see that I am in a sort of forum where people help each other.

I should have been in this kind of business where if we messed up with a customer give us him some phone numbers of other clients and see if they could help them.  I was born in the wrong generation.

I have f - can someone help me get this error from my computer I woud appreciate it.

    EugeneSpinadel

I don't know what you've learned, but two things come to mind.  First of all if you had some kind of unrecognizable address on emails in question, they must remain in your Outbox.  If they are not in your Outbox, they will have to find in your sent items folder, you said that you have already checked.  If they came out, but the name part of the To: address was done somehow, you got a message in your Inbox to that effect.

The other thing that causes things to not be sent would be a valid SMTP address in your configuration, but if that were the case, you wouldn't be able to send anything, so I guess that is not the case either.

If none of the above is the case, I think I think about uninstalling and reinstalling WLM.  There is a new version that came on the back in April that caused a lot of people (including me) problems that are resolved by the process of uninstalling/reinstalling.  Be sure to export your contacts and any email you want to save in CSV files before uninstalling.

    Good luck.

  • Why don't the 'Contacts' remain locked in "categories" I put them in? I use Windows Live Mail

I use windows 7, Windows Live Mail, and I went through all worthwhile to create categories 'A', 'B' & "C." as I created each category I placed my 'Contacts' in each of them. I did until I got all Contacts "in the"category I wanted. "

When I tried to send and email to all the contacts in category A. I wrote the email, went to the TO: button and clicked on it, and all three categories, with all my jumbled autour contacts have been identified.

How can I fix this? Is it possible to lock the names in the category? This is getting ridiculous, instead of making things easier for us, Microsoft seems to do just the opposite.
