There is a checkbox to let Firefox to remember passwords. I can't check this box and use it, it is gray. Why?
What information do you need more?
Your list of details of the system indicates that you are in permanent private browsing mode:

Is it possible to force Firefox to remember passwords?
As many have complained, there is a growing trend for websites prevent browsers, including Firefox, to remember passwords. It's absolutely maddening. Like most people, I have the order of 100 passwords, and thanks to the idiots, an excess of zeal IT guys who need to justify their own jobs, we are forced to constantly change the ridiculous combinations, impossible to remember symbols and numbers. (Everyone really get their accounts stolen because some hacker sits down and tries to guess their password? Somehow I find it very, very hard to believe.)
First world problems, I know. However, my question is simple: is it possible to force Firefox to remember passwords? Maybe an add-on or an external program any? I know there are programs of password manager, but last time I checked, those who were practically worthless and did not support working as well as the Firefox built-in to remember passwords. Thanks for any help.
Hello Andrew, Yes, you can either install an addon or use a bookmarklet to work around this restriction.
in a next version of firefox, this feature will also be integrated directly in the browser: http://www.ghacks.net/2013/12/24/firefox-29-save-fill-autocompleteoff-passwords/

We have site and only works with Firefox 3.0 Setup. so, can we have this version Offline Installer?
Why is your site, not be able to be consulted in current Firefox?
Firefox 3.0 is now rather old and vulnerable.
If you must use a version of Firefox 3.0.x for that one site then try the portable version of Firefox 3.0.12. English is near the bottom of the list.
http://sourceforge.NET/projects/PortableApps/files/Mozilla Firefox 2% C Portable ed. / Mozilla Firefox Portable edition 3.0.12 %2C.^ copy + paste the url above.
Installs it portable Firefox is autonomous, that it does not touch your version of Firefox or normal profiles for her.

I assume you have set Firefox to remember passwords. If this is where the password is stored, you can remove it from Options > Security > saved passwords button.

is there a website that gives updates on the mac applications. I already asked this question and responded, but I can't find it (if you know how to find old questions of your s that tell me - nobody else had asked this question). There are Web sites for ipad/iphone applications. It gives update on prices, sometimes, when I am lucky that I find very good apps that break free.
The site you are after may be https://roaringapps.com/

I like having the desktop firefox menu bar, but I hate the way he stated. If you activate the menu bar, then it reduced the floor space available for display on a web page. Please, don't copy layout of google chrome, chrome is a bad browser. the former route of firefox is better than the other. If you guys can not help me then I'll just use the old version (3.6) of firefox. Thanks for your time.
This web page offers a few ways to make new versions of Firefox looks like Firefox 3.6:

I want to go back to Firefox than Firefox 32 31. How can I do this?
I found that Firefox 32 is not compatible with the theme of Windows 7 desktop that I currently use (high contrast white theme). I tabled this question like a bug on Bugzilla site, but until they get this issue fixed, I want to go back to Firefox 31.
My questions are:
1. what I have to uninstall Firefox 32 first, or can I just install Firefox 31 on 32 of Firefox?
2. get lost (or ruining) my settings of Firefox by doing this?
3. where can I get Firefox 31?
4. is there a way I can stop the automatic updates of Firefox does not happen and instead get a prompt? Thanks for any information, that anyone can give on this subject.
Because the latest versions of Firefox contain the latest security patches, old versions of Firefox may have security or functionality problems. For this reason, we do not recommend downgrade your version of Firefox.
If you want despite any downgrade Firefox, you can download any version of Firefox from here.
Can I ask you why you're decommissioning?
Now, the answers to your questions:
- You should be able to simply install Firefox 31.0 and should replace version 32.0.
- Your settings should stay the same, however, I would recommend your application data backup in case something goes wrong.
- See above
- This setting can be changed partners to automatic updates can be found under the tab 'Advanced' from the Options window

Impossible to get Firefox to remember passwords
Recently, I had a total crash. Reference Dell should replace the entire machine. On the older machine I was running Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit. Now I'm on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. On the older machine Firefox asked if I wanted to that it to remember the password. On the new machine that does not happen. "Remember passwords for Sites" is turned on. I'm not running in private browsing mode. I had to give up Firefox and go back to IE. Is not a happy choice.
Have you moved all the files from the old computer to the new computer or did you start with a new Firefox profile?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).
- Do not click on the reset button on the start safe mode window or make changes.

It is possible that there is a problem with key3db and signons.sqlite files that store the encrypted names and passwords in Firefox.
In the Firefox profile folder, rename the files key3db and signons.sqlite.
You can add .old files (key3.db.old and signons.sqlite.old) names or move them to another folder to make it possible to cancel the action.
You must define a new master password after renaming or removing the signons3.txt and all the currently saved passwords are lost.
If that worked, then you can delete the renamed files that are no longer needed.See:
- "Troubleshooting" in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Password_Manager

I have all the settings in 'options' good to remember the passwords, but when I am prompted with the popup "remember password" and click on it, nothing happens. The popup is visible and no password is saved.
Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance/themes).
- Makes no changes on the start safe mode window.

I can't find the bookmark to hold in the new Firefox 4.0. How can I get this feature
The new feature of bookmarks under FireFox4.0 is not the same as Firefox 3.6. I can't copy or export my bookmarks to a flash drive to put it on another computer. Should what steps I follow to export my bookmarks to a Firefox 4.0 uner flash drive?
It's called "Show all bookmarks" now. You can always start with the combination of CTRL + SHIFT + B keys, however.
It is better to export bookmarks to a folder on your hard drive and then move (or copy) it from there on a USB key.

My Norton security has opened a window and told me that he recommended the quarantine or delete something called "container.exe" as it was then very little new people had used, or something like that. I accepted their advisor. Immediately I started having problems with Firefox crashing almost everytime I went to a new Web site. I tried to restart, but it was ineffective. Any suggestions? I do this on google chrome for my Firefox is basically unworkable at this time.
The container is used by Firefox to contain the plugins used by Firefox.
If you start Firefox, you might want to try and perform a soft reset of Firefox: http://mzl.la/MnSTZB
If this does not work, you should be able to download Firefox again, install it and use it without losing any important data.
Before you do anything, like install Firefox again, you must make a backup of your Firefox profile: http://mzl.la/LHJo6V
