There is a matrix of Certification Oracle Client data provider?
Hello
Does anyone know where to find a Certification Matrix to know what Version of Oracle Client supports what? for example .NET version 4.5.1
Best regards, Manfred

Please suggest how to prepare for the certification ODI topic: Oracle Enterprise Data Quality: Match, Parse, profile, Audit, operate.
There is a forum OEDQ very good quality of the data of the product team here is very active there so go there to ask.
There are also videos on YouTube related links (they are made by the product team and are therefore best practices) - just Google youtube disqualification
As always the best way to learn is to do - set up your own system of Disqualification and trying things on your PC

Hi friends,
We have different versions of databases 9i, 10g, 11g, etc. on unix and windows servers.
I want to install on my computer laptop oracle client that accesses all oracle databases. Is - this client 11g? or client 10g?
I read something before that customer 10g is more stable and compatible with all versions to 11g?
It is still true today?
Thank you very much
MsKCan be a little more specific on the release of accurate database that you are using? There is quite a difference between a non patched 9.0.1 database and a 9.2.0.8 fully patched database when it comes to compatibility of the client.
MetaLink 207303.1 is the Client / Server compatibility matrix.
A customer 11.2 is compatible with a 11.2, 11.1, 10.2.0.2 or group of later patches and a 9.2.0.4 or highest group of hotfixes. It is not compatible with a 10.1 database
A 10.2 client is compatible with a 11.2, 11.1, 10.2, 10.1, or 9.2.0.4 or higher fixes groupIf you need to connect to a 9.0.1 are, you would need to go all the way back to 9.2 (10.1) client that is no longer available on OTN.

Any idea about this problem on installing the Oracle Client
Hello
Client computer: Dell notebook, i5, Win 7 SP1 Enterprise 64-bit (8 GB of RAM)
I am trying to install the oracle 11.2.0.3 client 64-bit on this machine, but facing problems. After I'm done specifying ORACLE_BASE and selection of the language and 'Administrative' selected option instead of 'instant customer' or 'Runtime', by clicking on the next button, progress bar is displayed and the time it's done with audit requirements that disappears from the screen moving in together. I ran the installer with the option "Run as Administrator" too and tried to use 11.2.0.2 setup, but in vain.
Quick question... I have a CSI valid, if I get a ticket with Oracle, they would help me on problem installing client that I am facing. In the past I was able to install the client on this machine, I am just clueless despite that I looked at the log generated by the Setup program file.
Here is the content of the journal

Unfortunately, there are administrators in Windows, then there are administrators. Apparently not all administrators are created equal. Don't ask me to explain, I do not understand myself, I just know that this is a truth. Still a reason more I learned to avoid Windows I get chances.

Doubt w.r.t. the Oracle client installation
Hello
We will install oracle client. We use oracle net services to configure essbase with the help of oracle, which is installed in the other database server. That is why we are installing oracle client.
Now my question is during the installation exactly customized including all the checkboxes should I check. There are a lot of items displayed in the installation window. I want to know what should I check to install only oracle net services.
Help, please.
Go to the Administration of Oracle Client installation. Then copy the TNS server entry and paste it to the customer.
Start access, the database of the customer.
Kind regards

create the database with Oracle Client link
Hello together,
on my machine Windows 7 with Oracle Client installed 12.0.1.0, I'm trying to create a database link to a database server, which runs on Oracle Standard Edition1 11.2.0.2.
When I connect to sqlplus on the client with "sqlplus/nolog" and type the command:
SQL > create SID of the database link
connect to the user identified by passwd
using "tnsnames.ora connection."
I have a SP2-0640: not connected. OK, it is clear, because I use sqlplus with option/nolog. But client-side normally I have no database, where I can connect. So I think, there is no user, or?
The database to which I want to connect is located in tnsnames.ora.
Generally: Is it possible to use the Oracle Client to create a database link? Maybe there's another way to do this?
A big thank you and best regards,
David
You don't seem to understand the concept of a database link.
A database link connects two databases. Not a client and a database.
You need to link up in a data source to a target database.
The only thing you need is a client of sqlplus in sqlplus client, you need to connect to the source database.
If you can't connect to the source database, you must present the statement to someone.

Are there discounts for employees of the Oracle
Hello
I'll take OCPJP 6: exam 1Z0-851 very soon. I have not yet voutcher.
Are there discounts for employees of the Oracle? Where can I get more information on this topic?
THX.Oracle employees can go to the University of my.oracle.com > Oracle > Certification > certify you > used to access delivery information. You will need to check with your administrator to determine if it will approve the refund.

Anyone help Pls!
How to check the version of the oracle client installed on my local pc (windows xp)?
I went to start all programs, I can see oracle 10g, 81,92 on my pc.
At the command prompt, I entered sqlplus /nolog it shows the version, but they say it's the version of the server. If we are talking about an Excel spreadsheet with a macro in VB using ODBC to connect to the Oracle database, which ODBC driver are you using? Assuming you are using one of the ODBC Oracle driver path is irrelevant. The driver name should include the name of the Oracle House (that is to say, the ODBC driver will be named 'Oracle in OraHome92' If you use the ODBC driver in the Oracle home "OraHome92" which, no doubt, would be the home Oracle 9.2 (if there are multiple Oracle homes on the machine with the same version of the Oracle client or if you chose the default names for your Oracle homes that do not include the version number , you can search the registry - that is to say the path of specific directory for a particular Oracle home HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBCINST. INI\Oracle in OraDb11g_home1\Driver will be the full path to the SQORA32. DLL which corresponds to the ODBC Oracle driver OraDb11g_home1 hospitality Oracle on my machine - but that is probably farther in the herbs you want to go). If you use the (long) since depricated Microsoft ODBC driver for Oracle, then the PATH comes into play because this driver is not consistent stream.

Oracle Client (ODBC or OLEDB)
After installing vcloud Request Manager, connect to the Oracle database does not work in the application. I installed an Oracle11G 32-bit instant client and my ODBC DSN is configured and works. However, vCloud Request Manager still not connect to the database.
Here are my questions:
VCloud Request Manager, that database of protocols serve actually to connect to the Oracle database? ODBC or OLE DB
Based on the error messages I've seen, it seems that vCloud Request Manager does not use my 32-bit ODBC DSN to connect to the Oracle database. Any thoughts?
I can't say that this method has been tested. In theory, as long as the prerequisites are there then it should be ok. The full oracle client can be downloaded from Oracle that contains need it parts and is selected by using the custom option on the initial pages of the installation.

How to start to use the Oracle client to access the database?
People,
Hello. I just installed Oracle Client (Instant Client) in the directory/home/myOracle/Oracle_Client.
But I don't know how to start and configure the client to access Oracle database.
Can all folk tell me how to start to use the Oracle client to access the database?user8860348 wrote:
People,Hello. I've successfully used Oracle SQL Developer. But I want to know how to use the Instant Client.

I guess you're hurting understand the definition of Client instant, there isn't a tool or application or tool GUI as a sql developer or another that you can start using. It's just client installed with the minimum characteristics
If you want to use the right application tool install sql developer in your instant client or simply running sqlplusSee you soon

Installing the Oracle Client - not found registry keys
Hi all!
I'm trying to change a setting for an environment variable in an oracle client installation.
The problem is that in the path, that I found in the oracle.key file, there is no registry entry... so I can't change the environment variable.
How can it be possible? Where can I find variable parameters?
I not have the client installed, so I don't know what happened during the installation.
The machine running Windows Server 2003 SP2 (x 64) and the version of Oracle Universal Installer is the 11.1.0.6.0.
Thank you in advance for your help! The only explanation I have is that someone messed with the registry.

'12 Patch Set components' section - the table "Customer Oracle required support files" entry confirms that this hotfix can be applied on the installation of the client 9.2.0.x.
There is no sentence indicating the same in 9.2.0.8 readme (what is there in any Readme 10.2.0.x).
You can apply the patch output 10.2.0.4 Oracle database on Oracle Database 10 g release 2 following facilities

Question about the Oracle Client software
Good afternoon
The following statement appears in the day 2 DBA OBE for Chapter 4:
>
You must first install the Oracle database client software, which includes the Oracle Net software.
>
I downloaded the instant client, installed and everything works fine. However, the instant client does not include the Oracle Net software. I searched for a 'no snapshot' customer ;) he would understand, but did not find these clients. I tried to start the complete installation (downloaded from the Oracle site) and there is no option to install the client only.
Question: There is another client that includes the Oracle Net software as described in the OBE? If Yes, where is it?
Thank you for your help,
John.Yes, the "full" client package is available in the downloads / database and has a name like this:
Oracle Database 11 g Release 2 (11.2.0.1.0) Client for Microsoft Windows (32-bit)
(and of course is available for different platforms)

Hello
Recently, we have updated production company running on AIX 5 L of 10.2.0.1-> 10.2.0.4. There is little of siebel CRM applications where oracle 10.2.0.1 client was installed and these application using oracle client jdbc to connect to the database server.
I would like to know, claim we upgrade the oracle 10.2.0.1 client as well to the same group of patches from the database server (10.2.0.4).
do we have any Oracle recommendation for same? As this is a living environment and no results in loss of bussiness downtime.
Thanks in advance. Both your client software certified on the last group of patches, there is no reason do not improve the customer.
Nicolas.
