    Your question

This e-mail from the thunderbird support team or a fake email?

Thunderbird support is not a provider of e-mail and does not send a message like this. I suspect that it is a scam.

  • Last week, AOL E-mail hangsup, crashes, etc. AOL said it is the fault of FireFox and I should switch to Safari!

I use Firefox 3.6.6 as my browser on my Mac using 10.6.6 both at home and at work (a public school). The problem is on my home Mac. I have high speed wireless. I use AOL for email. Last week, my AOL e-mail began to slow, hang up, crashing, freezing, etc. As a subscriber to AOL, I could call AOL. Reviews of technical assistance were I should spend to Safari, Firefox is not supported by Apple / Mac, clear my history, and I have to deal with Firefox. AOL sent a follow-up that it me has failed to file in the comments"" section. Firefox is really the problem?

A previous question has a compensation suggesting response cache can help.

What about Firefox not taken in charge by Mac, although it's probably not "backed" by Microsoft either way, but it has few users.

    Thank you in advance.

MBX is an electronic file created by Microsoft Outlook Express format. Thunderbird uses mbox (without a file extension) for mail storage.

Thanks a lot for your help.
Turns out having had a problem of this laptop in particular, as you suggest.
I tried to clear cookies and cache, but the problem remains same after uninstalling and reinstalling FireFox. I finally downloaded, installed, and the part used 'TuneUp' software including deleted the cache and cookies and updated my Malwarebytes Anti - Malware Pro after that I uninstalled FireFox. So when I reinstalled FireFox, AOL email was opened quickly by using this browser. Happy
    New year.

  • New AOL e-mail: one quarter of the screen is blank on the right side, reducing the space for the e-mail subject line. Resize attempts do not work on the right side, so I can't expand the e-mail subject line

The new AOL E-mail look, which yesterday began a quarter of the screen is blank on the right side, thus reducing the space for the e-mail subject line, which limits its usefulness. Resize attempts do not work on the right side, so I can't expand the e-mail subject line? Running XP pro and Mozilla Firefox 5. No problem with I.E.

Thank you, these settings were already in place. AOL said now erase the cache, cookies and history... to solve, which worked. (I deleted the cache and a story time.)

  • Is always taken Thunderbird supported, if yes, what is the latest version

I have windows live mail and lets say that I am not crazy with it. I have an old version of downloaded Thunderbird but have never used. My question is, Thunderbird is still supported with updates and also what is the latest version.
    Thank you very much
    Roy

Yes Thunderbird is still supported. However he is not released at the same pace it's Firefox, she follows the cycle security/stability for minor updates and Extended Support Release of emissions a major release coming out sept. The Thunderbird community doesn't have the means to have rapid versions like Firefox.

The latest version of Thunderbird is 31.4.0

  • Where Thunderbird stores my e-mail in Windows 7 and how can I change this somewhere else?

I want to assure you that I am saving my e-mail messages, so I need to know where is stored mail messages (not the profile). If it is stored on the C: drive where are all of my programs, I will probably want to change to a data reader as I backup on a regular basis. How can I change this location and move my existing files there? Thank you

    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/Profiles-TB#w_moving-a-profile

Note that profiles.ini must stay where it is and you move everything else. Thunderbird must be able to find and open up profiles.ini to locate the rest.

However, if you use a reader for programs (perhaps a SSD?) and hard drives for all your data, it would be preferable to find the setting in windows to move all your users on the HARD drive folders. Then the link magic used by Windows token % appdata % will point to the correct location.

  • I want to use Thunderbird without saving e-mails on PC. How is that possible?

I want to use Thunderbird without saving any email to a local folder in my PC.
Can you help me please on this?
    Thank you.

There are two types - POP and IMAP
You will need to login to your webmail account using a browser and select the option to use the IMAP forwarding Protocol - assuming that the option is available.

E-mail POP accounts can only access the server Inbox.
Emails are downloaded to your computer and stored in your Thunderbird profiles folder. So this guy can't according to your needs.

IMAP e-mail accounts provide a remote view of files and emails stored on the server.

You subscribe to view these folders. Then the headers are downloaded and when you opt for the display of an email, the email is downloaded in a temporary cache.

Subscribed folders that are synchronized, download a copy of the file and store it in your Thunderbird profile. But these files are constantly updated to reflect what is stored on the server.

Your best option would be to create an IMAP e-mail account, you sign up to see the folders on the server, but do not select to synchronize subscribed folders.

E-mails stored in your Thunderbird profile on your computer load faster than those that must be retrieved from the server each time.

Info on the synchronization, so you can see how to turn on or off.

  • When I click to open thunderbird but the e-mail window does not appear until the icon shows the app closed, how to fix this?

To start thunderbird, I click on the quick start on my toolbar icon, it highlights that if beginner, then a few seconds later, returns to the closed state. No e-mail window never appears on the screen. When I check the Task Manager, thunderbird does not appear in the list of running applications, but one or two processes show running on the Details tab (one first process by clicking on the icon, and then another if I right click and try to open one of the windows in option). I am running Windows 8.1. It worked well earlier in the day, so I have no idea what happened past. Restart the PC does not help the issue. How can I get the windows thunderbird appears on the screen again? If I can't, please send the instructions to backup all the associated email and address profile information so I did not lose anything... then uninstall and reinstall thunderbird and restore all the info related to my current profile. Thank you.

Thanks for the reply... still not sure what happened, but I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling bird t. Everything is back to normal after that. So your solution can work, but I don't have the chance to try it. My solution, but is not ideal, was effective and the problem was solved.
