TIFF or PNG and JPG sequences

I know that this happens every year or two, but in regards to export as a sequence of still images, is there something again on any of these formats that would make one better than the other for next-final-power?

I better give a little more insight to what are my objectives, so you don't think it's one of those positions as question "what is the best camera photo buy?

  1. Our projects have long, complex sequences with a lot of effects, dynamic linking and all sorts of things that may (and often do) first crash.
  2. In addition, our average first export/rendering takes 5-7 hours.
  3. We start to use sequences always much more than before because if the computer breakdown IS 90%, we can pick up where we left and did not sit but 5 hours of makes it again just to make it fail to 95%.  I'm sure all of you have met my friend Murphy, right?
  4. After rendering "FINAL FINAL FINAL" is done (you know the drill), inevitably, someone needs to do one last tweak (e.g. typographical brand not made on 30 frames), or a person on the Board of Directors wants to do a minor tweak after seeing the completed project.
  5. We can then make these changes to the 100 frames that change, crush the TIFFs and we are ready to export our TIFF sequence (not the real creation project) as a MP4 again in 20 minutes WITHOUT him needing 5 hours since all processing was done making the TIFFs the first go-around.

We want the sequence to a kind of lossless stills or close enough to it so that if/when we finally get the green light to publish, we already have a project that has already been processed before as TIFF (effects, dynamic links,... all the heavy stuff) and just needs to go to the final output, no matter who (from web video to the Bluray).

TIFF have always worked and they are lossless.  But they're also big, especially on a 28 minute program.  They are cumbersome and do not read in real time very well (or sometimes at all) in CS5.

PNG, I never really messed around with them for sequences except when I need an alpha.  They are lossless, right?  No reason to spend in PNG TIFF If alpha is not involved?  Better reading in first?  Smaller size?

I guess that the JPG is out because it is not lossless.  100 lossy JPG or enough to use these days?  I always well enough discarded the idea of jpg, but has anything changed recently to make it worth a try?

Is there another format, I'm missing?  I'd love to fall acrross something equivalent to DNxHD, but for still images.  DNxHD is not lossless, but PERFECTLY adequate for my needs.  And from what I see, it might as well be lossless without the pricetag of enormous size.  Huge bang for buck.  Something like that for still images?  JPG at 100?

I sometimes use the word "render" interchangablly with "export."

I tend to not.  They mean different things.  In this case, make ways in Premiere Pro.

If you need to see outside PP, you can get a much faster export by checking the box use seen in the export settings.  And if you use a codec lossless for rendering, you don't lose any quality by doing so.

  • ColorSync does not export png or jpg tiff after update to iOS 10.11.3

    Using ColorSync:

    Completed the update to iOS 10.11.3 yesterday, but acknowledged that, after the update, I have one more no *.tiff export *.jpg or *.png files.

    Many options for export has disappeared, that shouldn't be a problem, because the format png and jpg still appear in the list of options. But once I chose one of them I get an error if the name of the original file and the name of the export file are the same.

    Example:

    Open hearst.tiff in ColorSync and choose Save as.

    In the menu next, I clicked on "hearst" to use the name, but now I said "could not export the document.

    Looks like it was already possible to choose a file name by clicking on a file without actually replacing the existing, if the file type has been changed.

    What do you mean "using ColorSync"? Do you mean "color synchronization utility?

    Why would you use to convert an image file to another format? Preview is the default application for this.

    Utility color synchronization is not an image editor; It is intended to manage color profiles to ensure accurate reproduction of colors on different screens.

  • How to save png or jpg in the library of Cloud?

    I have the idea that you simply move the objects of applications and it is in the library. However, if you wanted to Sage png, JPG, which are the exported on, PSD? It seems that if you import the png and jpg in, PSD or INDD and make them slide library, he adds that if the asset has been created in this program. Web browsers don't support not add them to the library - only when you purchase or download stuff on the market. You can add them through Bridge.

    At a time I remember being able to do this and use the asset in any application, but it seems that the feature is gone. Any help would be appreciated.

    And run an error that says "image type is prohibited" appears when you try to attach a screenshot here. So I hope that someone understands what I'm looking for help with.

    I do not work for Adobe. Generally, you will find personal Adobe in the forums.

    (1) "it seems that if you import the png and jpg in, PSD or INDD and make them slide library, he adds that if the asset has been created in this program.» This is how work CC libraries. For example, if you place a JPEG file in InDesign, and then drag the JPEG as well as InDesign libraries CC illustrations he does not keep a link to the JPEG file. You should incorporate the JPEG format in the InDesign file. When InDesign copies to a library, it includes a file of extract (useful for back into InDesign, where it can be restored) and a PDF file (useful if you place it in Illustrator or Photoshop).

    Then to circle back to your original question, "How do I save png or jpg in the...» Library? "You open them in Photoshop and let them slide to the library.

    (2) ' the web browsers don't support not add them to the library - only when you purchase or download stuff on the market. " You cannot add them by bridge. "Web browsers or bridge are currently part of a CC library workflow. As the diagram at the beginning of the first reference I gave you has pointed out, library workflow is based on the implementation of CC CC desktop applications and mobile applications and use the work in mobile applications and desktop applications.

    (3) "and run an error that says"image type is prohibited"appears when you try to attach a screenshot here.» You are running within the limits of the Jive, which is Adobe software licenses to run the forums. Only files such as PNG or JPEG can tie in the window using the "camera" icon image.

  • Make the png/jpg sequence into a single file png/jpg

    Hello

    does anyone know how can I make animation as sequence of images (png or jpg) and get 1 big png/jpg file?

    frames can be registered vertically or horizontally.

    what I get is: http://oi62.tinypic.com/2wp7csh.jpg

    is it possible automatically in AE somehow (option, script, plugin, external software)?

    This isn't a sequence of images, it's a film strip.

    I would make your project to a sequence of images. Make sure that your master or rendered comp is the same width that you want your film.

    1. Now import your images as images, not as a sequence of images to After Effects (you can do something similar to Photoshop)
    2. Select your entire image sequence and then click on file > new comp from selected, then choose unique composition.
    3. This should give you your whole image sequence in a composition with the images in the correct order. If the order is wrong, then start again by selecting the first image in the sequence first and then sliding the last image
    4. Now you need to change the size of your publication by going into settings of Composition (Ctrl/Cmnd + K) and the Advanced tab, click on the upper area of the Center in the anchor selector
    5. Now, go to the Basic tab, make sure that lock the proportions is not selected, and then select the height
    6. Use the arrow key to move to the end of the size of the height and type * and the number of images in the sequence (IOW 640 * 20)
    7. Go back to your publication and add this expression to the position property of the upper layer:

    h = thisComp.height;

    n = thisComp.numLayers;

    y = height/n * index;

    x = thisComp.width/2;

    tempY = n - (height/2);

    y = tempY + index * height;

    [x, y]

    Or select all of your layers, then apply this preset

    If your publication is completed save any image in format PSD using Composition > save the calendar layers Photoshop or Frame save as file

    Your ' e done.

  • PNG, short cut sequence

    Hello

    I'm working on a video sequence of 10 minutes and one of my animations is a PNG 430 image sequence.  This was introduced in the project very well and I continued to work on pieces later.  For some reason any when I rub the timeline back on this first part of the project that it has cut sequences short png animation, it plays around 25% of the animation, and then maintains.  It should play at 100% then hold on the end condition.

    When I display the properties of this clip, the duration of the end says 476 and is located at the end on the scroll bar.  If I move it it aligns with 100 and will not go further.

    Retiming of the clamp to 100% it's still playing less, about 10% of the animation completes.  Replacing media with the same png sequence does nothing.  The only solution is to remove the clip and re - import and redo my animation on this subject.  I had to do this several times throughout the project for previously filled groups / layers that were very well originally.

    All media is on the local drive.

    Any ideas what I could do wrong?   I copy clips to the timeline and paste sections later and then change the properties of the duplicate (not clone) which I think mess with the original somehow that it is always on the clips that are reused.

    Thanks for any idea.

    Check your field of play.

    You might have accidentally shortened it by typing the command-option-O instead of simply type O to define an outpoint on another object, or put you and I forgot about it.

    Or

    You set an out point on the group that contains the image sequence.

    Or

    You may accidentally set the length of the piece (to point) of one of the images in the sequence to a longer time (and it was probably moved to the top of the layers in the image group.)

    All sorts of things could have happened.

    Try to re-import the image sequence and clone group.  Do new clones of the original whenever you need a new copy.

  • Save in TIFF or PNG with transparent background

    PS cc (2015.5.0) create an image with multiple layers, all with transparent when I try to save as TIFF or PNG so I can move to the WEB Site, the file does not keep the background transparent. How can I solve this.

    For the WEB using the PNG.

    If all your layers are transparent,

    Save the png file, and then reopen the file in photoshop to check if it is registered with transparent background.

  • 1. restore HI-dpi standard saved even 2 jpg sizes? 2. why muse saved png to jpg? (the html export)

    Hello

    I'm working on my homepage with the last muse 2015.1.0.2309

    Fast 2 questions please:

    1. when I started my drawing with the global "Hi-DPI" setting and would now go back to "standard" why muse record 2 different size jpg image, even if I've cancelled "Hi-DPI" setting?

    2. when I export my finished site in a folder on my imac, why muse implements a PNG to a jpg image, I fall into the layout of muse?

    Thank you, peter

    At your breakpoints of the site? If so, the images are optimized and exported breakpointwise.

    If you use effects, which introduce transparency, Muse needs to convert a jpg in PNG because JPG doesn't support transparency.

  • Problems with the Save as PNG or JPG in Illustrator

    I have all my works of art (vector objects/forms/etc.) on my work, but I also have other assets (ie. photos, notes, etc.) outside of the artboard.

    When I save it as a PDF, it will save what is indicated in the plan of work which is exactly what I want. However, when I try to save it as a PNG or JPG, it includes the other goods, making the canvas of the bigger picture and what it should be. If he tries to hide the layers include other assets, it still saves with a size of canvas with a white background.

    Any thoughts on why this is happening? Thank you

    are you checking this little box?

    Disable the option Preferences > General > process files Next To Raw files as separate Photos JPEG.  Then again an import.  It appears that, in this case, LR consider a TIFF image to a file "gross".

  • Create alpha channels that are premultiplied with png and other formats

    Hello

    I am in the process of manufacturing assets for Unity3D engine and I do the transparent PNG with alpha channels that are premultiplied with black. My questions:

    1. To this day I use superPNG plugin to add an alpha channel, because it was really hard to find the opportunity to do this in the menu Save under... . Today very very accidentally, I found Export-> video renderer where I choose PNG and premultiplication. I do something wrong or is this the right way to Photoshop to export png via the video function? It seems really hidden!
    2. I can do the same thing for TIFF, PICT (I guess no pict for me because its pure mac?) and tga with a layer of black format and checking box of Alpha channels, but its somehow greyed out for PNG? Why is this?

    I think its a kind of contradiction, or am I missing something?

    Thank you for your time,

    Peter

    PNG, standard format, does not support alpha channels, only a single transparency channel.

    PNG allows only 4 channels, and that the fourth channel is transparency.

    Some video software packages use PNG and treat as premultiplied, even though the spec file says that it must be of the right color.

    You could save yourself a lot of trouble by jumping alpha channels simply recording your PNG after step 1.

    Yes, if you messed with the color values and alpha channel you might have ended up with a file that looks like values premultiplied (since you wrote all the zeros in the layer of color, but has no need of).
