titles of the table

How can I determine the size (height) of a line of the table heading?  I use 9 FM, and the framework it creates for my table titles seems to cut the high bit great characters, such as letters and characters such as lowercase 'f' or 't' or even 'i '.

Table Designer gives me just the choice of whether or not I have a table heading, and if it is above or below the table.  And when I try to add space above the text in the title of the table by using the designer in the paragraph for the particular paragraph tag I use in this title, he don't seem to have any impact.

The PDF file shows the characters cut off at the top? If this isn't the case, then it's an artifact on the screen that has no effect on the output.

  • The references in the table FM titles do not work in PDF format

    I use FrameMaker 8.0p277.

I have inserted many links to titles of the Table in a book. They work when I Ctrl + Alt click in the FrameMaker file. However, none of them work in the PDF file.

All other cross-references of the position of the styles and the URLs work well, it's only the headings of table who fail.

I tried to check the styles of paragraph and character for the traps that I was taken by those from before, but there seems to be none.

Someone at - it ideas, what does not work?

Please try then. Note: it is generally recommended to have this option when you create interactive PDFs of FM. Post-processing routines tend to be a tad aggressive and remove valid links.

  • Add title to TextEdit table

I've never used TextEdit before, but I now have a project that requires me to make four columns indefinite length, table (maybe 200 lines). I learned to adjust columns and rows, but I would now like to add a title to the table.

    Additional:

    1. I am using TextEdit, because I think it's simpler than Pages as I've never used. Is this fair?

    2. a 200 300n line table can be heavy and difficult to use. Is it possible to do fewer lines, but add something like a page Turner?

TextEdit is a poor text editor and hardly a word processing application, but it can do basic things.

Tables are not very flexible in TextEdit.

Pages is much more robust and manipulation of tables. You can add rows, columns, etc. simply by clicking on the row/column menus.

As you can see, the default is to display the headers on each page, so there is no need to create some sort of page turner.

New lines will be added as a Tab to the next line.

When you insert a new table, it offers many styles to choose, but you can add headers and footers, styles, text formatting, etc after the fact.

Pages is quite different from other applications of word processor like Microsoft Word. Many do not like because of it. I like it because it does not work like Word. I find it easier to use, but it has certainly not many bloated features of Word.

  • Table of contents - do not enter the table header overflow

    Hey,.

In my table of contents, I listed two styles:

1 table of contents Title Page

2 - the ToC table header

I also have my table set up correctly - headers, so when a Table flows to a second page - table headers appear in this second page as it should. The tables are large - and not the way to avoid overflow. I think that the principle is called "Text Threading" - but it also works with the tables.

In the majority of cases - the implementation works perfectly.

HOWEVER when the table flows to a second page - TocTable header does not appear in the Table of contents regenerated.

For example, the table of contents looks like this:

    Electric Page 6

    Machine X - Y - Z Page 6

    Electric Page 7

    Electric Page 8

When it SHOULD look like this:

    Electric Page 6

    Machine X - Y - Z Page 6

    Electric Page 7

    Machine X - Y - Z Page 7

    Electric Page 8

    Machine X - Y - Z Page 8

Is this possible? I have looked at all - and cannot find all the options.

    Thank you!

Clarify: X-Y-Z Machine is the title of the table, and he appears in a header row (repetition) over a several page table? And you want each occurrence of table header appear in the table of contents and not only the first occurrence?

I don't think it will work this way. Header lines is modified on the first page of a table: other pages just repeat the info, but it is not accessible. It would work if you put the title of table above the table (not inside) and it repeated manually at the top of the pages. It's more work, but it will get the desired result. You mentioned that it doesn't happen that often, so maybe that's a doable "workflow" for you.

That said, most of the TOCs brings you to the first page of a chapter, section, paragraph, and table and do not repeat the entry when the chapter, section, paragraph or a table contains more than one page. If I have sought to your table of contents and wanted to see the section on electricity, I have to stop and wonder what page to go to the first. I think that eventually, I would choose the premiera.

  • Incorrect time in the table of contents

I have a 8 s sliding for more than a minute long. After mounting, the TOC always shows the time 01:26 and does not update. Saved as a new file, no change.

    Clues?

I have tried resetting the table of contents, but duration of slides is adapted in real time, no reset necessary.

Type securities, may I offer a tip? Label the slides instead of typing the slide titles in the table of contents. For a higher level, group slides, labeling the Group and this will appear as a top level heading in the table of contents. This has not only the advantage that resetting the table of contents will keep these labels, but they are also very useful in other cases, some examples:

    • If you want to use the jump to the slide, you can choose the label of the slide instead of the number
    • The advanced interaction, in the branching view, you'll see labels for slides instead of numbers
    • You can reduce the groups in the film strip
    • You can apply a master slide to a group

  • Conditional compilation tags or phrases in the table of contents

    Hi all

I meet another problem with my conversion, this time with the tags and conditional compilation expressions.
Everything seems to go well in my subjects, but not in my table of contents.

Some of my topic titles have words with conditional text applied in the source FrameMaker document.

These subject titles also appear in the table of contents that are automatically generated when I connect my framework book in Robohelp.

I put the conditional compilation expression in the Webhelp settings dialog box and then save and build.

These topic titles appear to pick up the correct conditional compilation expression in the subjects themselves, but the title of the table of contents displays several conditions (including the condition that I set myself to 'Exclude').

Thus, for example, if the title of my topic is

    "Conventions in this documentonline help."

    WHERE
    -----
document > should appear in PDF format only
    and
online help > must only appear in Webhelp

I can get the Webhelp topic to use the title "Conventions in this online help.

but the corresponding TOC header looks like this:
    "Conventions in this documentonline help.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.
    What

Conditional compilation tags are not imported to the table of contents of the FrameMaker content. However, you can follow another approach to achieve this. We can manage the conditional compilation expression in FrameMaker itself and import the content of filterted in RoboHelp. In order to achieve this, set the conditional compilation expression in FrameMaker. Enable the setting in RoboHelp to 'apply FrameMaker text building conditional Expression '. [File->-> import-> Edit (FrameMaker settings)-> other settings of project settings]

This way of RoboHelp will import only the content filtered with conditional tags build resolved according to the expression applied in FrameMaker.

  • Why my header of table in contact with the top border of the table?

I created a single-celled table that behaves as a title in a quick reference guide.

The problem is that the header of the ends to the top text against the top border of the table, as shown below.

I tried to change the cell margins in table designer and by changing the spacing options in the paragraph Designer.

Or is there a better way than a table to accomplish this topic?

    How can I fix it?

    Cindy

    AdobeForumScreenShot.png

    Cindy,

Check the paragraph designer to see where in the cell (top, middle or bottom) is specified for the paratag used for the title of the table. In addition, check if there is no positionnelles substitutions for the margins specified in the paratag. It will be take it some parameters specified through the table designer.

  • Prevent the Table topic packing

I'm creationtable on my reports. My headers are dynamic (from a DB table) and can be paid by the customer. If I created the column a specfic width and the topic it exceeds, it wraps. Is anyway to adjust the title of the table so that they can never install?

your table is the problem, re - create table...

It looks like fixed table or adjust to the table will have an effect on this.

  • Why the pages gives-1 after the titles of the copied tables?

I am trying to copy and paste tables into pages so that each page looks the same, but for some reason pages adds a dashboard and a number after each copied table.

For example, the title, initially looks like this:

    TITLE:

(and then the news of table)

but when I copy it ends up looking like this:

    TITLE:-1

Is it possible to stop the pages to do this? Thank you!

    What version of Pages?

    Where is - the title?

If it is in the Pages of the Table does not change.

Can you throw a screen snap (command shift 4 and do drag across the area) and mail it using the camera icon?

  • I need to create a table of contents in iPages but I want only one word for the title, not the line of holes. Or, how can I change the contents of the table? Thank you!

I need to create a table of contents in iPages but I want only one word for the title, not the line of holes. Or, how can I change the contents of the table? Thank you!

Yes, you can have a one word title, by assigning a paragraph style title to this one word. No, you cannot change the text in a Table of contents, but you can change paragraph style font attributes (line) and add for example, a head of points between the types of OCD paragraph and page numbers. No part of the table of contents will not provide hyperlinks in exported PDF documents.

When you look up in the menu bar, you can see the word iPages, or simply Pages. There is no product of iPages.

  • How to choose half of a title to appear as title 1 in the Table of contents?

I am creating a document containing several job descriptions and want to have a hyperlink in a Table of contents description of each individual work. The way securities are in the format looks like this: "profile Description: President. The only part of the title I want to appear in the Table of contents is '' President. '' How can I select the part of the title to post a link in the table of contents? I've highlighted the portion of the line I want to appear as the title 1 but Word (2010) insists on the selection of the entire line and not just the part that I chose to be Heading 1. I know that I could drop the word 'Président' to another line, but it's not the look I want. I think I should perhaps use a bookmark or do something with the field but am way over my head on this one. I only know some of the basics and the terms bookmark and the field are new for me and quite mysterious. Any help would be appreciated, but I am a novice and must be crossed it work with no baby.

Ok. I assume that you do this in Word?
If so, then the word is part of office (for which there are specific forums on this site) and no windows.
Click on the Forums link at the top of this window, choose the desktop, and then select the version of Office you are using and choose the word.

  • Chapter number on the same line as the title of chapter in the Table of contents

How can I get the chapter number on the same line as the title of chapter in the automatic table of contents (page layout: Table of contents)? I want to have the number followed by a period, like this: "1. the chapter title" with the page number on the right (no problem with the page number). See the picture of what has gone wrong. I wonder if I put chapter numbers in a separate text box in the document without a paragraph break after the number. I know I can change at the end, but do not want to lose the settings with the updates.

  • Title of the report based on the value of the Table column

    Hello

    We use OBIEE 10 g.

We have a Table and a chart based on the table in a report.

Assume that the table has two columns, ID and NAME

can we refer dynamically the value of the column NAME in the title of the report?
    for example
    the table has

    ID | NAME
    -------------
    123 | GS

now, we would like the title to appear as

    Report for the GS

    where GS is dynamic

Use the narrative mode and refer to the column that you want to display using @2 and place it instead of view title.

  • Is there a way to "force" a title that is not screw up the Table of contents?

I used SHIFT + ENTER to force the rest of the topic on the next line, but it screws to the top of the table of contents.

    Suggestions?

Do not use hard returns. Anchor a block of empty anchor image in this position, running in Para, of equivalent right height to 3 lines of text in title.

Put a non-breaking space between Tuesday and the morning, to keep them on the same line (Ctrl + SPACEBAR).

Take the left edge of the AF with the graphical tool and drag it to squeeze the heading to the left until it sinks you want to appear on the page to the left. Table of contents entry will always be a single line.

I can think of other ways to do this, but frame RRI technique is by far the easier and more understandable for the future stewards of document.
