You have several customer oracle installed on your machine?
If Yes, then first set ORACLE_HOME and TNS_ADMIN correctly
Set TNS_ADMIN = $ORALCE_HOME\network\admin
then try again

Hello
I am using expdp successfully for some time, but now I'm in trouble. I had originally a database on the Windows Server. I added a second database for testing, but have now removed. I initially tried running expdp (I need to run it against my original db) when I got the two databases and it looked like he was pointing to the second database.
When I try to use expdp now (after the removal of the second db) I get "Error TNS:protocol adapter." Any ideas? My experience is still somewhat limited with Oracle so I'd be surprised if I'm not missing what is obvious.
Thank you very much for any help, I sincerely appreciate it.
Thank you

Hi all
I am trying to install between SUN5 and SUN7 Server (both servers running Oracle 7.3.4) on Solaris 5 boxes.
I can't connect to SUN7 SUN5 using sqlplus very well.
But when I added an entry for SUN7 on SUN5 server in its tnsnames file. ora as file:

(HOST = sun7)
)

The foregoing is the SUN5 files.
Could someone tell me how I can get this to work?
I tried unhashing the sqlnet.ora but then the application on SUN5 stops working.
Thank you.Hello
Number of things for you to check:(1) are you modifying the file tnsnames.ora correct, some o / s have a file in / etc, which replaces all other files tnsnames.ora - not sure about solaris if
(2) try to explicitly set TNS_ADMIN in the directory where is your edited tnsnames.ora
(3) there are typos in the tnsnames.ora file - media etc, oracle can be very pickySee you soon,.

Hi all
I had TNS-12504 strange errors when I try to connect to a 10.2.0.5.0db on my laptop (Vista 32 bit MS).
I installed Oracle DB 10.2.0.5.0 in c:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1 and its Oracle customer 10.2.0.5.0 to C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1.
I configured a MS Loopback card with static ip 10.10.1.1.
I set the variable ORACLE_HOSTNAME = PC322LB system, and my host file contains PC322LB 10.10.1.1.
My network configuration files contain:

Installation of Hyperion 11.1.2.3 - client 32-bit Oracle problems
Hi all
I'm trying to install the Hyperion 11.1.2.3 below environment, seems I get a very strange error.
Windows XP Mode environment:
Details of the laptop:
OS - Windows XP 32-bit (in virtual - using windows XP Mode)
RAM - 8 GB
DB: Oracle 11g EE
Hyperion products - Shared Services, EPMA, planning and RA 11.1.2.3
Successfully, I have installed and configured the 11.1.2.3 Hyperion. After restarting the machine, none of the Hyperion and DB products do not work. I started the problems in case of problem and found below.
In Hyperion 11.1.2.3, by default, customer database ORACLE - 32 or 64 bit is installed as well as Services of the Foundation. I guess, it creates the problem, because in the slot location, it creates a listener and Tnsname files. You can see the new menu called Oracle - Oraclient3211g - OS user name and customer files.
Note: If I try to uninstall client Oracle 32-bit systems, it displays the warning message * ' customer Oracle 32-bit is required for EPMA - Server Dimension service, uninstall the product will break the EPM features ' *_
C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\config\dbclient
I checked the two newspapers (DB and Hyperion logs)
One of the Hyperion newspapers:
ORA-12505, TNS:listener is not currently of SID given in connect descriptor
DB logs:
ORA-01034 - ORACLE is not available
ORA-27101 - not shared memory realm leaves
The TNSPING error - TNS-03505 - utility could not resolve the name
I did reference two files tnsnames, seems some names are different.

Please anyone suggest me a good solution for this problem.
Thank youInstallation on an operating system would be a good start because XP is not supported.
Are you sure this is the installation of the customer who caused the problem as it should be ok, has been the database certainly work after a reboot before the installation of the software of the EMP.
If you delete the Oracle client (also remove the window - TNS_ADMIN environment variable) then restart and check the database works ok.See you soon

Hi all
I create a portfolio of oracle and everything works fine until a script is launched by the OS oracle user. (same user that whoever created the store)
I use authentication external store and inside my script, I do something like a sqlplus / @MYSECURE_TNS.
However, when I run a script OS another user as a 'data_loading_user' I get the error: Oracle Database Vault ORA-12578 connection error: TNS:wallet open failed
I would like to know, how I can activate any user on the local host access the portfolio safe to connect to the database.
Here my current ENV:

Oracle Linux 6.5
Oracle a Standard 11.2.0.4
Webtier Oracle 11g
Database and thin client SQLNET. ORA

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi all
Tried something out of the blue, that has worked.
I added the data_loading_user of the user to the group administrator (Group of BONES that created the wallet).
The I added the read permission to the group, so the permission on the files below were 640:
# > chmod 640 cwallet.sso
# > 640ewallet.p12 chmod
Thank you

Get the error about TNS from Oracle, hosted on a LINUX machine
Hello
We moved our Solaris servers Linux databases. I run a multithreaded process that creates a db that are shared by the threads connection pool. On the passage to Linx db I get the below error message
[SERVERERROR] ORA-12520: TNS:listener could not find a Manager is available for the requested server type
My first port of call for resolve this error has been to check tnsnames.ora and TNS_ADMIN but they are very good and then I checked the db DB some threads connected and inserted data usually error occurred when dropping the connection thread control and one other thread picks up.
Later, I changed the configuration to run only a single thread, and then it works fine without any errors. I also tried the process running even with configured to create a thread during two different sessions and then a session had this error but continues.
Here is the generated sqlnet.log file

Niraj RouaultThis could be a resource issue, check for the second error TNS-12564 on metalink, there is not a lot (but still useful) hits.

How do tnsping?
I'm new to database.
I use the Oracle 10.2 database in windows XP. How 'tnsping' who?Hi all
Thank you all for answering my question.
Finally, I found the solution for this problem.
I write the suggestion I got.
As I am a beginner please correct me if I understand this suggestion does not.-----
My path variable earlier looked like this:
C:\>path
PATH=C:\product\11.1.0\db_1\bin; C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\bin; C:\WINDOWS\sys
tem32; C:\WINDOWS; C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem; C:\WINDOWS\system32\WindowsPowerShell\
v1.0;
-----So when the tnsping sought the path C:\product\11.1.0\db_1\bin to departure, it will initially use the parameter used as file:
Use settings files:
C:\product\11.1.0\db_1\network\admin\sqlnet.oraThis parameter used file corresponds to the OWB 11 g. So I did not have a "tnsnames.ora" atleast it. If possible solutions now to get rid of the TNS-03505: failed to resolve the name error are:
(1) to a tnsnames.ora file in the path specified in the parameter files used:
(2) to change the order of the oracle database path in environment variables. This path * (C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\bin;)* should be the first in the VARIABLES of ENVIRONMENT PATHI did the other and now my path Variable looks like:
-----
C:\>path
PATH=C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\bin; C:\product\11.1.0\db_1\bin; C:\WINDOWS\sys
tem32; C:\WINDOWS; C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem; C:\WINDOWS\system32\WindowsPowerShell\
v1.0;
-----Once again thanks for all your replies.
Will meet with different questions. -
Hello-
I am facing the following question when I try to connect by using the command prompt sqlplus for Oracle 11.2.0.3 DB installed and running on HP - UX.
The password is not all special characters & I also tried with the double quotes which did not work.
Following want to work with username/password@TNSNAME because I'm trying to get my application to connect to the database, the schema mentioned because it uses the jdbc connection with the connection as (username/password@TNS:1521) string.
