to access the tools on windows live mail win7

could someone tell me please how to access the Tools menu on windows live mail. I see the word tools but cannot click on it. I'm changing the frequency to send/receive. Thanks a bunch

The options of the program were well hidden in 2011 WLMail. There are several ways to access:
  1. Click the indefinable button to the left of the home tab. In the menu that opens, select Options, and then click mail.
  2. Click the indefinable button to the left of the home tab. In the menu that opens, select Options. Click Mail, and then select Add to the Quick Access toolbar (QAT). This will put a button for one click access to the sheet of options on the toolbar for QUICK access in the upper left of the window. Go over it; It's called Mail.
  3. Use the quick access keys: press Alt, then F O Mr. or, if you did (2), press Alt, then n, where the mail button is the nth from left to right on the QUICK access bar.
  4. Use the keyboard shortcut: Ctrl-Shift-O for Options.

    Hi Doug MacDonald.

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. What web browser are you using to print Web pages?

If you use Internet explorer, then change the margin settings to the title of the page setup in the file menu and check if that helps.

  • After saving the emails from windows live mail, why not open them on my computer as the file extension is wlmail.fol?

After saving the emails from windows live mail, why not open them on my computer as the file extension is wlmail.fol?

wlmail.fol is a tiny text giving the name of the folder. The exported messages will have filenames like 00D13E83 - 000025DF.eml. If you don't see all of the files like this, your export probably did not work properly.

For a successful export, follow these directions:

    1. Set Windows Live Mail to work offline before starting.
    2. Create a temporary folder on your desktop * to contain the exported messages.
    3. In the Export Wizard, select the temporary folder, and then select all the folders.* *
    4. When it is complete, check that the number of files in each folder to the temporary folder is one more than the number of messages in the corresponding folder of WLMail.
    5. Copy the temporary file to its final destination.
If you use a reader not NTFS to do this, you will see a warning that certain file properties will not be copied files. This can be ignored.

    * Windows Live Mail do not work with files that are not on a local drive, as opposed to an external or network drive. This is avoided by using the office as a temporary folder location.
    * If you want to export the files sampled only, select each of them containing messages. Subfolders are not automatically selected by default.

Windows Live Mail has its own support at the Windows Live Solution Centerforums. Please address any other question you may have on one of the forums on the right side of this page. You are probably asked to give your version of WLMail and Windows so that the answer may be more accurate.

  • I saw the problem with Windows Live Mail gel but I have the same problem with Windows Mail.

I saw the problem posted on Windows Live Mail gel but I have the same problem with Windows Mail. Sometimes, while mouse refuses I can scroll vertically with the keyboard, but not always... I changed to another wireless mouse, and this has not changed. I run Vista and can't find the update, that you reference. The reopening and closing program usually fixes it, but it's annoying. It happened for about 6 weeks or so.

  • The use of Windows Live Mail without loggin

I have a Windows Live account that was created on a tablet of Microsoft Surface running Windows 8.1.  When I access this account of my cpu Dell running Windows 7, I can access my account without having to log in.  I would like to have the security of having to connect, so has any who experienced this and have a solution?

    Hi Mike,.

    Please keep us updated.

What do you mean when you say "sign in the icon is always displayed on the right side of the toolbar?

I would be grateful if you could provide us with a screenshot of this issue.

Note: To protect your privacy, I suggest you to remove any email address before posting the photo.

How to include a screenshot in your message

The steps I have provided previous works if you use a web browser to connect to your emails. Windows Live Mail is an email client that requires your password to be added during Setup. This service can be set to disconnect when you quit the program

If your computer is shared, a work-around for you would be to create a new user account and this secured with a password. This only will allow you to access your emails.

    Create a user account

Protect your computer with a password

Hope this information was useful. If please respond with the required information, and we will help you with your problem.

  • Can't receive mail from Hotmail account using the phone or windows live mail

    Hello

I'm having a problem where I get a sign in error whenever I try to access my Hotmail account using my smartphone or windows live mail.

I CAN however use my web browser to connect and access the account in this way.

I tried using 2 different laptops (windows 7 on both) and my android phone.

I have reset the password twice and still have no chance to access the account outside the approach of above web browser.

It seems that this problem has affected my direct mail phone and windows at the same time, and I am at a loss for a line of conduct.

    Does anyone have a solution?

    Thanks in advance

It seems that if you have activated the two-step verification when you changed your
password. If you did, you can not use this password to authenticate in stupid
programs like Windows Live Mail which cannot ask or submit to security codes. You
need to generate a unique password app to use in situations like this.

  • Conflict between the settings of the computer and Windows Live Mail

I have a conflict between my computer settings, Windows Live Mail and Windows Live Hotmail/Calendar.  When the computers ' regional and Language Options | Date - short Date Format"settings are set to"dd-MMM-yy"is in conflict with the Windows Live Mail and Windows Live Hotmail/Calendar 'date of birth and birthday' date formats.  Whenever a date is placed in the Windows Live Mail "birth date and birthday" field the date in the field becomes "mm/dd/yy" which generates a conflict in date format.  Enter "mm/dd/yyyy" in the date field of "birth date and birthday" in Windows Live Mail when your computer settings are set to "dd-MMM-yy" and Windows Live Mail passes the numbers 'mm and JJ '.  Is there a solution?  I'd like to see dd-MMM-yy on my computer.

Also why Windows Live Mail and Windows Live Hotmail contact list different?  In Windows Live Mail, you can enter a "anniversary date" but not in Windows Live Hotmail contacts list!
