  Nothing worked until I managed to speak directly to Adobe support. They recommended to install the latest version of Camera Raw Installer 8.6.   You must make sure you have the latest version of ACR, which is version 5.6. Some Adobe links are not what they seem and lead to earlier versions. Use the download to PSE8; It will work with PSE7.

  When I try to open raw files from Sony NEX-5, instead of going to PhotoShop, as all my NEF files, they go to another suite of software that I have (One).  I'm on MAC OS with PS - CS6 10.7.5 last and last raw converter plugin 7.1.  On One seems to hi-jack this Sony raw files and does not give me the option for settings I get with Adobe's Raw file converter.  Any help?

  I'm not an apple person.  I read on a few different forums that apple has changed what is called 'writing' in a recent update to apple.  You may need to find an Apple expert to show you how to make sure you are allowed to write to files or locations on your computer.

  Definitely. You need the version 5.7, which is only for CS4.

  You need a DNG Converter, but since you're running XP, it will be the 8.3 DNG Converter
