  Thanks for posting on the Forum of Microsoft Answeres.  Given that this only happens with these games the first thing I would say is to check that there is nothing wrong with the media.  Make sure that the disc is clean and have no scratches.  Then, create a folder on your desktop and copy one of the game CD in the folder and run Setup from the folder.  Try them and let us know the results.   You could have chosen 16 bit by bit depth when importing file in the ACR dialog box editor. After you open the file, select it click on Image-> Mode and click on 8-bit. Now hit-> file save as and you should see JPEG from the drop file formats.
