Too many queries on a table scan request complete

Hello

I am facing a strange (at least for me :) behavior of my Oracle 10.2.0.3 Server based on HP - UX rx6600.
Have a table with apparently about 100 records that takes a long time and shows an excessive amount of queries run on the drive.

Walk in the footsteps of my session and go the following

call the query of disc elapsed to cpu count current lines
------- ------ -------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------
Parse 1 0.00 0.00 0 0 0 0
Run 1 0.00 0.00 0 0 0 0
Get 8 4.72 37.99 323196 323292 0 102
------- ------ -------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------
total 10 4.72 38,00 323196 323292 0 102

The table is accessible via the full analysis:
Rows Row Source operation
------- ---------------------------------------------------
102 S05_SIM_RTDB TABLE FULL ACCESS (cr = 323292 pr = 323196 pw = time 0 = 430 US)

Do not understand why access us so many times the disc with all these queries (I made a SQL > select < key field name > of S05_SIM_RTDB ;))

On a similar system, I got a normal as number:

call the query of disc elapsed to cpu count current lines
------- ------ -------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------
Parse 1 0.00 0.00 0 0 0 0
Run 1 0.00 0.00 0 0 0 0
Get 15 0.00 0.00 0 216 0 199
------- ------ -------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------
total 17 0.00 0.00 0 216 0 199

If you have advice on where start watching this would be really appreciated, thanks!

Mike

  • Oracle 11g with too many years of data in tables

    I have a facility with transactional tables that has records for many years. Queries on these tables are slow and I need to solve this problem in order to improve the speed of my application.

    I think deleting all records of the past five years, but it's going to be a very complex task. I heard an order to mark some records in a table like inmmutables so applications will treat them in a different way and then I won't need to delete anything.

    Anyone heard of this solution? What are the commands and steps to do?

    Thank you

    With the archiving of data, or any deletion of data, you can get a performance improvement, or you can't get any improvement.

    I heard an order to mark some records in a table like inmmutables so applications will treat them in a different way and then I won't need to delete anything.

    Where have you heard of such a device? Are you sure that this is a feature of Oracle?

  • 3 clues on 3 different columns, but explain plan shows full table scan for select queries

    I have a table - used and have index - functional ind1 (upper (f_name)), index - (emp_id) ind2 ind3 (upper (l_name) functional on 3 columns diffferent - what, emp_id, l_name respectively.) Now when I check explain plans for sub queries, they all have two shows complete table for the employee of the table scan. FYI - employee table is non-parittioned.

    Can someone tell me why 3 indices are not used here?

    (1) select emp_id, upper (f_name), upper (l_name) of the employee

    (2) select upper (f_name), mp_id, upper (l_name) of the employee

    where upper (f_name) = upper (f_name)

    and emp_id = emp_id

    and upper (l_name) = upper (l_name)

    If I can push oracle (version 11) to use these indexes somewho - maybe using tips? Any help is appreciated.

  • request done full table scan

    Hai all,

    10.2.0.4 on solaris 10

    SELECT sum(RechargeForPrepaid/10000), to_date(substr (TIMESTAMP, 1,8),'YYYY/MM/DD')
    FROM medt.crm_t  WHERE to_date(substr (TIMESTAMP, 1,8),'YYYY/MM/DD') >= trunc(sysdate)-1 and tradetype != '0' group by to_date(substr (TIMESTAMP, 1,8),'YYYY/MM/DD');
    The shows to explain that it performs a table full scan on crm_t. I created indexes on the column
    timestamp and tradetype too. collected stats too. but still, it makes a full table scan.

    Please guide

    Thank you
    Kai

    Obviously.

    The column is named incorrectly--> timestamp is a reserved word.
    It's also the wrong type--> dates should not be stored as varchar2.

    Also () =
    where is indexed
    always removes the index.

    The design of this table is a complete mess.
    Drop and redesign.

    You can yourself to hack and put an index of feature based on the expression, but the table will still be a disaster.
    I hope that this code does not belong to a commercial application.

  • Queries - full table scan

    Hello

    If I use the name like '% abc %' I still have full table scan. Is it possible to avoid it?

    I read on the full-text index:

    CTXCAT for the name fields
    context of the clob fields

    (1) is that correct or is at - it an easier option?

    2) is this correct that these indices should be rebuild when the data changes?

    Our database is 10.2.0.4, the above information is 11g docs

    Kind regards

    Histograms would be useless with a like '% something' value.

    Function of material you can complete analysis that a Gigabyte table in 30 seconds then how a problem is a complete analysis for a partial value. How many times is this going to be done.

    If the answer is high then you should probably use the Oracle text features.

  • Scalability problems - too many Active Sessions?

    Hello

    I'm having a problem with an app that I built for one of the College campus, that I work. The application is a queue system where there are stations for students to access your room, admin stations where staff can see these students and "call", and displays outside every office employee that shows the student who was called. There are about 20 of the latter type of billboards. I have the following code in my footer to query the DB for most recent students called for a specific room:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    var refresh_region = function( workstation_in, div_in ) {
        $.get(
            'wwv_flow.show',
            {"p_request"      : 'APPLICATION_PROCESS=F_NEXT_STUDENT',
             "p_flow_id"      : $v('pFlowId'),      //app id
             "p_flow_step_id" : $v('pFlowStepId'),  //page id
             "p_instance"     : $v('pInstance'),    //session id
             "x01"            : workstation_in
            },
            function(data) {
                $(div_in).html(data);
            }
        );
        setTimeout(function() { refresh_region( workstation_in, div_in ) }, 5000);
    }

    refresh_region( '&P7_WORKSTATION_IN.', '#next_student_div' );
    //-->
    </script>
    The process of OnDemand, F_NEXT_STUDENT executes the query and returns the result:
    select a.FIRST_NAME || ' ' || a.LAST_NAME
    into   full_name
    from   ONESTOP_QUEUE a
    where  a.WORKSTATION_ID_CALLED = in_workstation_id
    and    a.STATUS = 'CALLED'
    and    a.QUEUE_ID = (
       select min( c.QUEUE_ID )
       from   ONESTOP_QUEUE c
       where  c.WORKSTATION_ID_CALLED = in_workstation_id
     and    c.STATUS = 'CALLED');
    However, when all these display panels is turned on (and I use the code as follows in the other pages for similar purposes) the application become slow and eventually unresponsive. As a first step, we have the application running a box with Oracle XE. Finally, we have migrated to a full blown installation 11g with APEX listener and GlassFish. My DBA said everything looks ok on the side of the DB, so I tried to dig into other areas to see where the bottleneck can be. After inspecting the report of Active Sessions in the APEX, I noticed that there are a ton of connections being generated (> 30 000). This is not a good thing for me and I try to understand what I am doing wrong.

    At first I used $. post() instead of $. get (). I was also using setInterval() instead of a setTimeout() loop. However, none of these changes really seem to help the situation. I am at a loss to know how else to improve the performance of this application. Any suggestions on what I can try?

    Most of the features of the app is on apex.oracle.com

    Hello

    are you sure that each AJAX request generates a new APEX session? Because it is based on your downloaded app all right. You can check that by running the following query. It will also show you how long it took APEX to meet your demand for AJAX (elapsed_time). I think that the elapsed time will be the key to find out why your application becomes unresponsive if too many customers are returning. The goal should be that the AJAX request ends as soon as possible. For example 1 sec would be for many, because if you have 20 parallel AJAX requests at the same time, this could have an impact on your DB. You can share your average time?

    select apex_session_id, to_char(view_date, 'DD.MM.YYYY HH24:MI:SS') as view_date, elapsed_time, application_info
      from apex_workspace_activity_log
     where application_id = 65890
       and page_id = 7
       and view_date >= sysdate - 0.1
     order by 1, 2, 3

    I don't know how much data is stored in the ONESTOP_QUEUE table, but it may be useful to adjust your statement used in F_NEXT_STUDENT. On apex.oracle.com, the plan of the explain output shows at least he uses twice a scan interval on index ONESTOP_QUEUE_IDX. For inside MIN instruction it is well, but the external SQL should just do a search PK using QUEUE_ID. This is why I would like to delete

    a.WORKSTATION_ID_CALLED = in_workstation_id and a.STATUS = 'CALLED'

    to force the index seek PK using QUEUE_iD.

    I also suggest that you make your JavaScript code on the page 5 and 7 more transparent. He is currently hiding in the region or footer HTML. I would say to move JS code in the attributes of the page 'Function and Global Variable declaration' and ' run when Page Loads. BTW, there is no need to use $(document) .ready in "Run when the Page loads", because internally, we already use $(document) .ready.

    Or instead of using your own JavaScript code you can download the plugin http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/application-express/apex-plug-ins-182042.html#dynamic "Timer" and use rather dynamic actions. On page 5 you can use the action "Refresh" to update your classic report and on page 7 you can use an action to "Set the value" to run your query. I think it would make your page easy to read for others.

    Concerning
    Patrick

  • A function in a subquery is call too many times.

    Hi all

    I am struggling to understand why a function in a subquery is called too many times.
    Let me explain with an example:
    create or replace function all_emp (v_deptno in number)
    return varchar2
    as

    v_all_emp varchar2(2000);

    begin

        dbms_output.put_line ('function called');

        for i in (select * from emp where deptno = v_deptno) loop

            v_all_emp := v_all_emp || i.ename || '; ';

        end loop;

    return v_all_emp;

    end;
    /

    -- running just the subquery, calls the function all_emp only 4 times (once for each row in table dept)
    select
        d.deptno,
        d.dname,
        all_emp(d.deptno) f_all_emp
        from dept d;

    -- running the whole query, using regexp to split the value of f_all_emp into separate fields, causes that function all_emp is called 28 times, thus 6 times for each row!!
    select tmp.*,
    regexp_substr(f_all_emp,'[^;]*',1,1) emp1,
    regexp_substr(f_all_emp,'[^;]*',1,3) emp2,
    regexp_substr(f_all_emp,'[^;]*',1,5) emp3,
    regexp_substr(f_all_emp,'[^;]*',1,7) emp4,
    regexp_substr(f_all_emp,'[^;]*',1,9) emp5,
    regexp_substr(f_all_emp,'[^;]*',1,11) emp6
    from
        (select
        d.deptno,
        d.dname,
        all_emp(d.deptno) f_all_emp
        from dept d) tmp
    ;
    I do not understand why Oracle calls my 28 times function in this example, 4 times should be sufficient.

    Is there a way to force that the subquery is materialized first?

    A reminder of the facts:
    Above function / request is of course a simple example.
    In fact, I have a rather complex function, integrating in a subquery.
    The subquery is already slow (2 min) to run, but when I want to share the result of the function in several areas (about 20) it's over an hour due to above described behavior.

    Optimizer merges online view and the query results in:

    select  d.deptno,
            d.dname,

    As mentioned in your other thread today, it would be helpful if you could post your exact version of db.
    Samples of work would be appreciated too, the XML data, you gave are not correct.

    I would do it with two XMLTables, like this:

    SQL> SELECT school_name

      3       , x2.teacher
      4  FROM school t
      5     , XMLTable('/students/student'
      6         passing t.obj_xml
      7 columns id number path 'id'
      8 , teachers xmltype path 'teacher'
      9       ) x1
     10     , XMLTable('/teacher'
     11         passing x1.teachers
     12         columns teacher  varchar2(30) path '.'
     13       ) x2

    On sending a message, an error has occurred "the mail server has sent a wrong message: #4.4.5 too many connections to this host..."

  • Why firefox causes 429 block too many applications on the Vimeo site?

    When I try to visit vimeo.com with Firefox (version 37.0) I get a message block server called 429 too many requests. However, I can then use another browser (Konqueror - provided with my Fedora KDE plasma system [fc21]) to access the site without problem.
    I tried to clear the cookies and the cache of Firefox and running in safe mode with all add-ons disabled, but he always brings the 429 error message.
    I'm puzzled. Any advice?

    You can delete all data stored in Firefox with a specific area through "Forget this Site" in the context menu of a history entry ("" history > view history "or" view > sidebar > History "") or via the subject: permissions page.

    Using "Forget this Site" will delete all data stored in Firefox in this area as bookmarks, cookies, words of past, cache, history, and exceptions, so be careful and if you have a password or other data from that domain you don't want to lose then check that back up these data or make a comment.

    You can't recover from this "forget" unless you have a backup of the files involved.

    It has no lasting effect, so if come back you on such a 'forgotten' site, then the data of this Web site will be saved once more.

    Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problem.

    See "create a profile":

    If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile already used in the new profile, but be careful not to copy files corrupted to avoid transporting more problems.

    What your extensions?

    There may be many reasons for any slow application at startup. Without more information, or to be in front of your system, it is difficult to diagnose. 2 suggestions below.

    Firefox Safe Mode
    You may need to use questions Troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode (click on "Safe Mode" and reading) to locate the problem. Firefox Safe mode is a diagnostic mode that disables Extensions and some other features of Firefox. If you are using a theme, place you in the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Modules > Themes before start Safe Mode. When you enter Safe Mode, do not check all the items in the window, just click "continue mode without failure." A test to see if the problem you are experiencing is fixed.

    See:
    Troubleshoot extensions, themes, and issues of hardware acceleration to resolve common problems of Firefox
    Solve problems with plugins like Flash or Java to solve the common problems of Firefox
    Troubleshoot and diagnose problems in Firefox

    If the problem does not occur in mode without failure, then disable all your Extensions and Plug-ins, and then try to find out who is causing by allowing both the problem reappears. You MUST close and restart Firefox after EACH change via file > restart Firefox (on Mac: Firefox > Quit). You can use 'Disable all add-ons' on the start safe mode window.

    Malware scan
    Install, update and run these programs in this order. They are provided free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in "free" mode, but those are features that you don't really need to find and eliminate the problem that you have. (Not all programs detect the malware even.)

Most of the information I entered in 2000 I forgot. Can you please help me. I have a few important photos and copies of property documents attached to this email, I need to recover. Help, please.

    You did not bother to tell what email client you use. In any case, if it's Windows Live Mail or Hotmail:
