  I put t know if you use the same cable for two hard drives but you should test the other cables. A cable is maybe broken so hard drives will be more recognized.

  I have a * Toshiba USB 2.0 Portable external hard drive (200 GB) *, and I used it fine on my PC with Windows XP for months.

  I tried to plug into today in my newly purchased Mac Pro and it seemed very well on my desktop, but when I double-clicked to view content, my data and such were all there, but I couldn't access anything whatsoever.
