  Can you please check under display properties > settings > advanced > monitor, is there possibility to activate the option Hide modes that this monitor cannot display.

  If you want, save your data and reinstall OS with recovery CD. Check if your monitor is working properly and there is black band again.
  I ve done the installation of SP2 several times without any problem. It is not a simple to determine what can be wrong with it.

I n t have A500D before me so that I can t test it, but usually Windows 7 drivers also work on Vista 64 bit, because they are very similar. In your case, I would like to try the 64 bit Windows 7 driver.

• White screen after the Satellite Pro P200 display driver update

  I installed the latest display driver ATI Mobility Radeon HD2600 (8.432, on the site of Toshiba through Tempo) on my Satellite Pro P200 yesterday. Reboot, everything seems good as much as the screen "Please wait...". "Windows Vista professional, but instead of showing the page of connection I get an empty screen (with a mouse cursor that moves around as usual).   I put t know where found this answer, but I agree with it. In my opinion Windows XP seems to be the best choice in old enough Satellite L10.
