Toshiba snaps the factory system?

Hello
OK - following my previous post try to reinstall the operating system using the recovery on a replacement hard drive CD in a Satellite A30 (I tested and eliminated the possibility of partition size problems and GB)
I have a question if Toshiba locks the system so I can actually replace the hard drive and will not be able to use the recovery CD. I went into the bios to automatically detect the new hard drive and the option is grayed out and cannot be selected.
Any experience with this? See you soon
NJ

Hello

generally they are not locked, I Don t know how you can imagine, just by seeing some option in the bios. Have you ever tried to exchange the HARD drive?

If not, just do that, the HARD drive is recognized by the system and you would be able to use it since toshiba DO NOT lock their systems.
I know because I have now about 5 machines of every machine and toshiba, the HARD drive has been replaced, so I never had any problems with it.

Welcome them

P.S.: And please forget the bios, not won´t you really need... :)

I just bought a Toshiba L750. After learning of the default Windows 7 installed is Windows 32 bit, I decided to go Recovery Wizard from Toshiba upgrade to 64 - bit. However, the process is stuck to the system performance of note, that repeated several times for 2 hours.

Given that I guessed that screen performance of system just note one full screen of a normal process of Windows, so I pressed the button Windows start to display the taskbar which showed a component of Adobe installation process has failed. In any case, I clicked on the install Adobe on the taskbar button and close the window.

The note system performance then continued with about 10 steps ahead after 15 minutes. All well done.

So the trick is to close a window of the installation components that get stuck. Hope this helps some Toshiba laptop users out so hard.

A suggestion from bits to the team of Toshiba laptop:

However, if hang in some components, like the Adobe component I've seen, this will be confusing and advises current defects if the end-user following some in the thread above, legacy because of some missing components and the wrong configuration. It is preferable that the wizard of recovery to exit full screen at a given time, or the wizard handles error scenarios better.

  • What is the difference between the standard system restore and to advance option IE. Windows and smart only restore to the recovery program? Two of them are my computer to factory settings? Which is better or less annoying?

I use Window XP Home Edition.

    oureasyphamax,
I do not know if I understand your question completely, but let me answer what I think that you have requested.

The Windows System Restore will restore your Windows settings (drivers, registry, etc.) to a previous state (note it does not affect your user data).

Smart restore or a system restore that is started before Windows starts, usually accessible from disk or a boot partition, an OEM recovery option.  It will usually restore your PC to factory without saving the data, depending on the OEM recovery options.  For assistance with this type of option recovery\restore, you will need to check with the manufacturer of PC.

    Hello

You should not have a password to reinstall Vista.

Microsoft prohibits any help given in these Forums for you help bypass or "crack" passwords lost or forgotten.

Here's information from Microsoft, explaining that the policy:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-security/keeping-passwords-secure-Microsoft-policy-on/39f56ef0-5d68-41AD-9daa-6e6019c25d37

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

    Hello

If the system still boot and CD/DVD Burns just put in a DVD-R (write once) or DVD - RW (burn
several times)-it will encourage - when its ready use Windows Explorer to drag and drop files (and
their content) on the DVD. When you're ready, click BURN. I would like to make a couple of each DVD for
Security with redundancy. These will not be encrypted and you can access the files out of them or
subsequently copy on a hard drive.

Basically, make sure you know what you want to copy the files and put them in a blank DVD to write.

    ---------------------

If the system does not start, then you will need to put the drive in another computer or in a
External enclosure USB so you can copy files to removable media.
