TotalAssignedMemMB, TotalUsedMB, OverCommitMB by vCheck5.0

Hi team Vmware,
I ran the vCheck5.0 health check report(alan Rauf) and I raised the issue after going through the report on the memory of overcommiting due Calculation. They host know the definitions of TotalAssignedMemMB, TotalUsedMB, OverCommitMB and how its coming with the numbes for them in HTML Report.Vmware commits memory design. The memory section OverCommiting host html seems to suggest much worse than what actually exists. Please let me know if I can better understand these numbers. Thank you everyone. PFA
I just want missedout then let me know. Please help ASAP
Thank you
vmguy

How they determine the "value"?  If you do not add the appropriate values for overhead, bookings, etc., your "real" value is not real.  Not to mention that the content of the host could change due to HA/DRS since the last audit was performed.

    Hello

I'm looking for help taking a script work and have it create an HTML report.

I found a script that LucD post by helping another poster to gather cluster information that I've tweaked to collect information that I'm looking for. The script works and will collect the information necessary for all 3 of our vCenter servers but I'm trying to get this information in a HTML report similar to what Alan was with vCheck5.

Below is the output of the script and have attached the script, etat_hebdomadaire - VMwareClusterResourceSummary.ps1 and an example of what I'm trying to archive, weekly report - VMware Cluster Resource Summary.htm.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hello Arnold, creating such a report will involve a lot of HTML and CSS coding, which is not my strong btw

The best example is of course script vCheck to Alan.

In the attached script I borrowed / stole the code HTML and CSS of the script from Alan.

The result is far from what you are considering, but I hope that it will give you at least a framework for more customization.

  • Script will be executed is no longer

    I have a script created by VIRTU-AL: vCheck5.ps1

I created a FAS of the run .bat file a scheduled task. If I run each command separately, the script runs. But if I run the script together, he never does by first line:

    PowerShell.exe
    Add-PSSnapin VMware.VimAutomation.Core - ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
    C:\PSscript\vCheck5.ps1 vi_server

I have had no problem runniing this script from a Windows XP workstation. Now I have a Workstation Windows 7 (64-bit).

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Note *.

It was my previous script on a Windows XP workstation:

    "C:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\vSphere PowerCLI\vim.psc1" %systemroot%\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe - PSConsoleFile-command '& {C:\PSscript\vCheck5.ps1 VI_Server} '.

Here is the error message that it returns:

Could not load the Windows PowerShell "C:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastr console file
ucture\vSphere PowerCLI\vim.psc1″. WIN 32 error: the system cannot find the path
    specified.

On a PC running Windows 7 64-bit, PowerCLI is installed in the folder "C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\Infrastructure\vSphere PowerCLI. If you need to change the command to:

    %SystemRoot%\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe - PSConsoleFile "C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\Infrastructure\vSphere PowerCLI\vim.psc1"-command "&{C:\PSscript\vCheck5.ps1 VI_Server}".

    Best regards, Robert
