  The proximity sensor and ambient light sensor are two different things. The fact that your ambient light sensor works you says nothing about the functioning of your proximity sensor.

  You get a deal on the phone? A screen protector? If so, remove them and test again. If the screen does not always dark, you may have a hardware problem.

  Here is an example from the site ni.com showing how to use LabVIEW to validate a notifier TestStand.  I changed the example to adapt to the situation, I need to use it.  I have an example that works very well (when I use a new thread TestStand to start the notifier VI) and an example that does not work (when I use an asynchronous call to LabVIEW 'Call & forget' to start the notifier VI).

  I would like to understand why this does not work in the second case. The reason why I prefer the 2nd situation which currently does not work, it is that I try to eliminate all multiple threads in an outdated sequence, written by someone else a few years ago that I can't troublesoot it and update the code to make it work with the new reality of today.

  I don't think that there is a way to do it because the VI in the Panel is concerned, it runs as a first level VI. A workardound is to use a control. During the call to the use of VI VI server to set the value of the control (with the value of the control-> the Set method) on behalf of the VI who calls the VI. True, it requires you to use a control, but it's not so bad of a workaround.

  Wow, please do not use SQL here.

  For this type of change of the label you JUST have to change template html.

  In this case, there are two of them:

  * inCallInternal.htm (for the transfer of inside the call)

  * InCallBulkForward.htm (to transfer the calls list)

  Just change the labels required (without changing anything else), restart your web server services and changes should be visible.

• Communication with EtherCAT defective modules with executable startup

  I have a deployment with a hypervisor OR 3110 and four NI 9144 chassis that are connected via EtherCAT. The RT VI I created works perfectly when they are deployed since in the LabView project. However, when I create a start executable (startup.rtexe), it fails somehow communicate with 3 out of the 4 chassis. I can read/set values for the frame that plugs directly into the hypervisor, but cannot control the chassis more far. If I build the executable to start with debugging enabled, the behavior is the same. Strangely, when I connect to the startup.rtexe running through the 'Debug Application or Shared Library' menu in the LabView project, I start getting values as it should. When I disconnect from the debug version, I lose the modules again.

  What I'm missing here?

  I found the root of the problem: for iterations inside my call loops, I use property on variables unconnected (type defs) nodes to determine the number of iterations that I need. This doesn't seem to work if the FP is closed, as is the case in a deployed executable startup. If I replace these nodes of property with the constants, everything works as expected. It semms that the compiler removes variables unconnetced, because it "thinks" that they are not used.

  Here, I'm a little confused...

  When a main VI starting I wanted to open a box of dialoque - no problems so far. In fact the dialog box did not fit my needs because I want to insert different funds etc. and images.

  So I did a VI with the text and images inside (lets call it 'dialogue VI') and I want to open this VI if my main will accompany VI.

  With a button in the dialog 'VI' I want that dialogue to close and the user resumes the main VI.

  Acutally I do not know how to handle this :/

  Could someone give me some hinds on how to do this?

  There is a property of VI to open when called and another for "close when finished (if it is initially closed).»  These two are in the appearance of VI properties page.

  I'm trying to use the example
  load_cell_null_off_shuntcal.VI with a scale of full-bridge (Honeywell
  Model 31, not amplified). I'm using LabView 8.6, cDAQ-9172 and NI9237. The
  load cell is connected to the pins 2,3,6 and 7.

  Entries for the front side of the VI
  are: excitation10V internal; mV/V 2.1492 (calibration sheet); weight max 10
  lbs; resistance bridge 350 ohms (Honeywell specifications); 9237 shunt internal
  100 kohm resistance; map of shunt R4 (default setting). I chose
  "Do not offset null" and "shunt cal.

  This is the error I get:

  Hi Claire,

  You must physically connect the SC of arm of the bridge terminals (normally R3). The terminal is not provided for the connection of external resistors.

• FPGA to generate the counter and pulse train

  I have some experience with Quartus, but new on the FPGA OR.

  I have a PCI-7811R. I'm trying to use it to illuminate sequentially 144 LEDs repeatedly. The duration of each pulse is 480us.

  Basically, I need to generate a pulse and generator of a counter to record the number of pulses and, according to this number, select which light is lit.

  I designed a pulse generator train based on an example of using FPGAS and added a counter in it. You can see in the attached vi.

  My question is,

  When I put the I/O node inside loops call single cycle, it can generate the correct pulse.  However, when I tried to use the local variable to transfer data from the SCTL and then plug it on another node of I/O, I can't detect the pulse signal when I measured this I/O.

  Is there something wrong with my code when I try to transfer the data of the SCTL? Can I also use local variable to transfer the value of counter, because I will need it in the next part.

  If you are referring to the wired local variable to DIO2 in your attached VI, the problem is very simple: it is outside a loop, then it executes only once.  Put this local variable and the node of IO in a loop and I think you'll get something close to the impulse you expect (although if it is not in a loop of single cycle you will have exactly the same calendar).

• dynamically update task settings

  I create a VI to control a stepper motor by varying the frequency of output for the engine.  Above certain frequencies, the motor requires an enjambements ramp to reach the desired frequency.  So I want to configure my VI for the ramp slowly (speed of rise of 1 kHz per second).  I have a while loop and inside I call DAQ create virtual channel (CO Pulse Freq), then a VI calendar implicit to generate samples continues, and then I call early.  Basically, another while loop checks the status of the task and waits for 1 second.  What I see is that the frequency for the acquisition of data entry create vi virtual channel changes, but the output frequency does not change since no change in speed is found on the engine. However, if I stop the task after the 1 second wait, the frequency entry takes effect and different speed is observed on the engine, with a slight delay in the response.  The delay is undesirable because it defeats the purpose of the continuous rise.

  I'm looking for, so essentially a way to update the settings of task dynamically without any delay/mark a pause.

  Does anyone have a suggestion?  Thank you in advance.

  Channel property node actually cannot change the parameter during execution of the task.  If you put a probe on the frequency entry, it seems that the value is updated, but if you actually connect a scope on the physical output channel, the value is not changed.

  I discovered that to change the setting on the fly, I use writing DAQ vi the task.

• SMU 8262 streaming performance with HDD-8264 on an SMU 1062 q chassis

  I have a SMU 1062 q chassis, Win XP, running with a 8262 connected to a HD8264 and two SMU 6537 installed, all three pension being on the express slots (3, 4 and 5). The application of benchmark to test the speed of streaming (Win32FileIO) I get something like 100 Mbit/s with data of pieces about 4 MB and about 140 MB/s with 64 piece Mr. Comment can improve these results to the limit off the coast of 600 MB / s? Y at - it a software/driver tip to apply?

  And, in case, which is the best way to exploit the 8262 written c++ from the code (using the libraries OR)? Is there something similar to the Win32FileIO library? I tried to use the RAID system in program c ++ test, and performance seems very poor, whereas I would need, if not the 600 MB/s rate, at least something around 200 MB/s of diffusion continues.

  Hi Neil,

  I actually have a 8130 controller, and in fact, this was not the problem: I found the problem was the file interpreted by Windows file system caching. If you use standard fstream calls of C source code you can not get around, but using Windows native call (CreateFile (...), WriteFile (...) API) and definition of the indicator for no data cache or buffering inside the call, I managed to get the full bandwidth of 600 MB/s.

  I guess you have a controller that only supports PCI Express 1 x.  The SMU-8130 is our highest bandwidth controller, with links to four x 4 goes on the chassis.  In the case of the 1062, each of the locations, 3, 4 and 5 get a dedicated link to the controller.  x 1 links on about 200 MB/s max and x 4 maximum at 800 MB/s.

  So your first step is to use an embedded controller or MXI-Express x 4 instead of x 1 back to a host computer.  The SMU-8130 is the best for data transfers broadband, the SMU-8106 should also suffice your needs.

  If you want data streams on an SMU-6537 drive, it is already integrated into DAQmx.  You simply specify a file name and the data are intended to drive.  If you want to stream * of * disc, you will need to do it yourself.  Here is an example of C/CVI for broadcast disk using a C API scanners and Windows file IO functions.
