transfer library problems FLAC in iTunes

I just got a new MacBook Pro and I am trying to transfer my music to use with iTunes library. I used files FLAC with Foobar2000 in Windows. Now I use the 12.4.2.4 iTunes version.

So I put on the conversion of part of my music to Apple Lossless as a test. I searched the web for instructions. Almost all of the first results in Google are at least three years, then maybe I'm not aware of more recent problems. I ended up doing this with Foobar2000, by using the encoder of the ALAC. This has produced m4a files.

But iTunes does not recognize these files. I tried two ways.

(1) import the existing folder to the root of my library of music together. It is always full of many files FLAC, but I was hoping that iTunes would recognize other (mp3 and m4a) files that are there now. Instead, appeared as mp3 files in my library.

(2) change my iTunes media to be the folder file root of my existing music library (which is located on an external drive). Again, this has only recognized the mp3 files.

I wonder if there is an error in the converted m4a files that prevents to recognize their iTunes? How can I debug my work?

Mike,

If the files are valid Apple Lossless files, iTunes will be able to import them.  I suspect that something is wrong with the release of Foobar2000.  You can try another converter, like Max.

  • Permanently delete an item from my library and computer - Windows, iTunes 12.3.3.17

I want to permanently delete an item from my library and computer - Windows, iTunes 12.3.3.17

I read this post from Apple. But I do not get option 3.

    Can someone please help.

Link: 12 iTunes for Windows: delete the songs, playlists or other elements

    Option not to get:

    Do one of the following:

    • Remove the item from your iTunes library only: click on a file to keep.
    • Remove the item from your computer: click on move to the trash. The item is deleted the next time you empty the trash.

The exact behavior on deletion depends on the location of the file in question as iTunes encourage you only to recycle the files located in the iTunes Media folder. Behavior also differs if you are working in a playlist rather than saying the main music source. Shift + delete can be used to remove it from the library while you watch a playlist. Removal of media bought may lead to additional confirmation dialog boxes, as well as the use of iTunes game or Apple's music.

If you keep your media outside of the folder of media to iTunes standard see KillSelectedFiles for a script that does just what it says.

  • How can I add a DVD movie legally bought to my library of movies to iTunes?

How can I add a DVD movie legally bought to my library of movies to iTunes?

I'm afraid you can't. Almost every DVD on the market contain programming to avoid to copy you, for obvious reasons, and it opposes copy into iTunes. When you buy a DVD you do not buy a license outright to do what you like with the content: you buy the right to read this DVD on your own player and television (and not in front of an audience or an oil drilling etc etc) - you do not buy the right to make all the copies at all for some reason any. Legally, it would be real audio CD, it's just that they are old technology (1982) and at that time, there was no possibility of anyone copying digitally in all cases.

  • How to transfer files to iphone without iTunes library?

My iTunes library is on an external drive, which is not accessible at the moment. I would like to connect the iPhone to my computer and transfer files from Mac to iPhone. Is there a way to access iTunes without creating a new library on my Mac? Or y at - it another way to transfer files on iPhone without using iTunes?

Not with iTunes if you do not the original library for which the last phone connected.  If these are iTunes store purchases or if you use one of the iCloud (Apple or game music) service you can download directly to the phone. You could also investigate the use of third party services such as DropBox and then use a different media player to play music on your phone outside of the application.

  • Unable to transfer songs purchased on the iTunes store to Windows Media Player library

    Windows Media Player

I bought songs from the itunes store and they were saved in my music folder. I want to create a CD but can't get the songs went to the Windows Media Player library or create playlists. Help, please. Thank you

    Hello everyonelovestotravel,

Windows Media Player does not support Itunes because the format is not compatible. The Itunes are .acc format and is not supported by Windows Media Player. If you want to burn the Itunes for Windows Media Player, I suggest that you convert the files to mp3 format, and then burn. You can convert files using some of the third-party conversion software. You can use your favorite search engine to search for the software.

  • transfer my SL to Yose iTunes music

I have a large collection of songs in iTunes in international. Recently, I installed an SSD on my iMac with Yosemite and I want to transfer all of my collection (to the iTunes of Yosemite). How can I make this transfer so that I do not lose the attributes of music list that are defined on the version of iTunes SL?

Moving a library: quick response if you use preferences by default iTunes settings: copy the folder integer iTunes (and to ensure that all of its subfolders and files) intact at the other disk, hold down the option/alt key (shift on Windows) keys to start iTunes and on request to select a library select iTunes Library.itl file in the copied folder.

When it comes to a new computer/drive put the iTunes folder copied to the default location of Macintosh HD > users > * user name * > music (or home > music) so you don't even have to start with the down option, iTunes will automatically look it there.  (Make sure that it is no anything already in the iTunes folder it that you want to keep because you will replace it with the one you are moving).  Don't forget to authorize computer in iTunes to your Apple ID if you use it to synchronize with Apple devices or play multimedia DRM protected (e.g., movies).

Some elements used in iTunes related activities are not stored in the iTunes library folder, but in special folders.  If you move a library to another computer, you can copy these too:

    -Music Apple file cache: http://dougscripts.com/itunes/2015/09/new-flush-apple-music-cache-files/

Downloaded last last Monday via Soundcloud podcast thanks to this http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/soundcloud:users:199030552 / sounds.rss -I checked through feed validator and it's OK. The podcast makes its appearance in my library since Monday but not crossed to the iTunes store. Have refreshed, support by e-mail to Apple etc.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

A number of people have complained that single or multiple episodes, which are properly in animal feed and appear when a subscription, do not appear in the iTunes Store.

Support have confirmed that there is a persistent problem. They say that patients should contact them and ask for a re-indexing; It should be resolved in this particular episode. • Library backup 11.4 iTunes then restore

So, I'm on an old Mac Snow Leopard (10.6) running iTunes 11.4.18.s.  I have a Windows 10 PC running iTunes 12.2.2.25.  I want to spend my library out of the old Mac and PC.  I tried to change my iTunes media folder to point to my NAS in the hope of pulling out from the PC.  No go.  See Win10 is an XML file, but it cannot import with an error message of "some of the songs in the 'xxx' file were imported not because they are not found.»

I turned on the 'library sharing' and the Win10 will be able to see the library this way, but it won't let me import the library, even if I am connected to iTunes.

To put the icing on the cake, or to throw a curveball, I now have an iPhone 6 (upg'd 4 s) hoped the old Mac would be so I could transfer files that way... no go.  Neither the Win10 sees the iPhone6 either.  So I have NO playlists on my iPhone6.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Library share someone only allows to play media in the library on a second computer.  Home sharing lets copy you media, but that's not really transfer an entire library since as a library of the city your iTunes library is more than a collection of media without structure.

You do not say what iTunes files you have where. Since you mention a sin I guess you can have some there.  Try to copy the iTunes from the Mac to the PC folder.  Start iTunes on the PC while holding down the SHIFT key and when prompted select iTunes Library.itl file in the folder that you relocated.
