Cannot correctly update 7.0 7.01. What is going on?

Hello!

I noticed that FIREFOX was launched the browser updates quite frequently as the end. I've updated my browser when they show... until 7.01 is released. Not only, it does NOT fully install on my IMac (iMac 10.1 - 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor - less than 1 year old)... but is incredibly frustrating:

I did the usual update for 7.01 process before the SOFTWARE UPDATE WINDOW (I recall; less than 1 WEEK after I received an UPDATE for 7.0, which normally installed enough)- but the 7.01 dropped a Firefox icon on my desktop, I put in my APPLICATIONS FOLDER. It did not MOVE the icon. Inexplicably he only COPIED on the file - leaving a FIREFOX icon always on my desk. I then put that one in a special folder of FIREFOX that I keep for general Firefox info, etc. SAME RESULT... only COPIED icon in this folder. A "volume" of Firefox ALSO appeared on my desk. Normally, these disappear to leave my system and return. in this CASE, the Firefox ICON icon - AND VOLUME-for weeks now. I can't REMOVE without taking in the trash, I am reluctant to do so, fearing that I would COMPLETELY LOSE of FIREFOX on my system.

I find that FIREFOX 7.o is what my system is always - it does not seem to recognize the 7.01 happened, somehow.

In the meantime, I keep getting the window of a SOFTWARE UPDATE (for 7.01) appearing when I open my browser (7.0)). I tried once AGAIN to install from that - and only got MORE icons on my desktop.

Moreover, I have an eMail from YAHOO/ATT - AND a YAHOO homepage. YAHOO often leads to interferents browser issues or in situ. THIS may be a factor. I have NO idea.

MY GUESS is that something (?) did not finish - or recognition in the SETUP PROCESS (with installation window/process/move to folder App sequence.

WHAT I NEED is:

(1) in order to be correctly, completely updated to 7.01 - and

(2) have these stupid icons reappear to quit smoking (and multiplying on dragging files).

I guess that once 7.01 IS fully installed, that all this nonsense will stop; I'm not going to see "NEW UPDATE TO 7.01" windows appear / I won't "tights" my office space icons / my SYSTEM will then DISPLAY "FIREFOX 7.01" as my current browser.

What is going on? WHAT AM I DOING HERE?

I am at a complete loss (baffled, frustrated, kicked to the curb).

I'm not familiar with sophisticated programmer / developer terms/shortcut. Please, someone answering this (thankyouthankyouthankyou!) write clearly and simply, so I'm not puzzled by said to do something that I can't understand the meaning of... I see this kind of response in some other messages that I've seen, trying to find what to do, even if none of these positions were exactly my scenario.

All I want to do is get 7.01 to install fully, as/in the process of normal installation package that appears when an UPDATE is downloaded.

Thank you!!

p.s. assuming I'll get an eMail when I get a response.
I won't be able to FIND it - or whatever the correct page is - hunting every day for answers.
My eMail is:

Use this button on the troubleshooting information page to go to the Firefox profile folder.

Make sure that Firefox is installed correctly.

Open the DMG file and drag the Firefox program in the folder of the application on your hard drive.

You should not double-click the Firefox application to run from the disk image and drag it out of the DMG file instead.

I have updated to DC (about a month) and cannot save my PDF files more.  What is the cause of the dialog box "Save as" do not open?

    Hi mwebsterdps-sc,.

    Try this: -.

The default "Save as" dialog Acrobat DC is different from the dialogue box you had in earlier versions of Acrobat, it also allows you to record in the clouds and previous locations that you saved the files. It is possible that when Acrobat tries to connect to the 'cloud', it runs into problems. You can try to disable this feature to see if this brings your backup in the back of the box: open Acrobat Edit menu access-> Preferences, then go to the "General" category and uncheck "show the online storage when you save files:

I would like to know if it works.

    Hello

    Follow these steps.

Click Start, run, copy and paste this command and click OK: services.msc
(Press the Windows key + R if you do not "run" in the start menu)

In the list of Services, see Background Intelligent Transfer Service or BITS ?

If it is not listed, follow these steps to register the BITS service.

Open the Windows search tool, copy / paste the following text, and then click Search: qmgr.dll

Research should show this file in the following locations:

    C:\Windows\System32
    C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\bits

I hope they are all present, follow these steps to register the service.

Click on start, run and copy/paste: regsvr32 qmgr.dll and click OK

Do the same with this file: regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll

Restart the PC and then copy / paste this command into the field run:
    %windir%\System32\rundll32.exe setupapi, InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\inf\qmgr.inf

If you are prompted to insert the Windows installation CD, ignore this and in the dialog below, replace the path C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386

Restart the PC and then go to the Services and you should be able to see BITS in the list.

Double click on it and then on the general tab, click the Start button to start the service manually. This is just a test to make sure that it works correctly.

If you get 2 error: cannot find the specified file, click on start, then run again and copy / paste the following command, and then click OK:
    Tracking Add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BITS\Parameters /v ServiceDll /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d %windir%\System32\qmgr.dll

Reboot again and try once more to start the PIECES. It should work fine now, but in the unlikely case where it fails again, run the following command, and then press ENTER:
    Reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\BackupRestore\FilesNotToBackup

Reboot once more and then do the following.

Go to this link and install the IE8 November update:

I used my iMac as a hard drive backup to my macbook once. Now when I update to El Capitan he says that it cannot be updated due to being of a backup. How do I change the drive mode so I can update?

If you use your iMac as a backup to disk using Time Machine look for a folder called Backups.backupdb.

It's what keeps you upgraded your operating system, you must remove it.

Copy everything first if you are on a different drive. It would be wise to create a backup of the iMac on another drive also.

Check system preferences > Time Machine and make sure that the iMac is not selected as the Time Machine drive.

  • XP - cannot install updates

    XP Pro, SP3, MSE

I have updated to notify but not download or install.

On the last two occasions 'Patch Tuesday', I was advised again
updates, click on the icon/bubble and then selected "Download" - nothing
    is happening.

I make sure that all boxes updates is ticked/checked (they are by default)
and I have an internet connection.

Initially, I assumed that the server is busy, but after waiting an hour or two I
had to go to the MS update page where I can download and install
without problems. During this process, the Update icon appears in the
notification area saying that updates are ready to install, just as I
expect after clicking on 'download '.

The situation is the same for the last batch of updates.

No idea why in THE fails to download after notification?

Well, my updates finally downloaded and installed, and I found a plausible explanation for the delay, at least for my computer.

The Windows Update log in my Windows folder contained many entries saying "updated by an update that is regulated and can not download" and "the update takes precedence regulated and can not download.  Through the research forum has led me to a thread posted in October, which explains the issue clearly enough of these phrases.

If you disable Microsoft Update updates poster will never be. What is happening is that the updates are regulated so that the update servers are too taxed. After all, all Windows computers in the world cannot be updated at once, right?

If you check WindowsUpdate.log, located in Windows, you will see an entry like the one-

If you disable Microsoft Update and then the next time you activate your system will again "set priority " and will have to wait his turn to receive actually.

The latest entries are at the bottom of the journal. Start here and see if there is a similar entry in WindowsUpdate.log on your system.
If there are similar entries all I can say is that you be patient and wait until they arrive or manually download and install updates from the Microsoft Download Center or from the Microsoft Update Catalog . To the Download Center, enter the number of the update, and then click the magnifying glass icon to start the search. For the MU catalogue, either enter the number or the Security Bulletin number.
All the Security bulletins can be found hereand also contain links that allow once to manually download the updates go MS Download Center.

I also checked my security settings and noticed that my Windows Defender has been exceeded.  If I try to update Windows Defender, I also have an error saying that it cannot be updated with the error code 0x80070426.

I looked at the code Error 80070426 on knowledge base and followed the steps here to try to fix.  Disk cleanup has no effect.  Whenever I try to validate my copy of windows, it says:

    Hello

You are unable to download the updates?

Try the following steps to resolve the problem:

Method 1: Temporarily disable any security (including firewalls) software and check if the problem persists.

    Check out these links:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

If disabling the security software solves the problem, then contact the manufacturer of the specific security software to fix the problem.

Important: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable
your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are
connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2:
See the article mentioned below and run the Fixit diagnostic tool to fix the error 643.

You receive error code 80070643 0 x or 0 x 643, code error when you use the Windows Update or Microsoft Update Web sites to install updates:
