  This hard drive is formatted in FAT32? This may explain why you have a limit of transfer of files (4 GB) at a time. If that's the case reformat the drive in NTFS format (first save your data). Hard drive formatted in NTFS will not file transfer limit and will be more stable. Hope this helps you.   If the drive is accessible then you just copy the movies on the disc using Windows Explorer and then paste it into the external hard drive.

  1. Once you insert the disc into the movie player go to the Windows Explorer find the DVD drive, and then copy the movie contains.
  2. now go to the external drive using Windows explore, right click on any empty space and click on paste must copy the contents of the film on the external drive.

  Note: some DVDs allows you to copy its content.
