Transfer of Windows XP on a new computer with Windows 7 so that I can upgrade.
I have a Dell Dimension L433c with Windows XP loaded on and I always use it for now (I will throw it away as soon as I can do this transfer). I want to transfer programs from Windows XP and my Word and Excel files in addition to the other programs stored on the Dell on my new computer with Windows 7 Premium Home 32 bit on it and then update the programs.
My problem is that I can't save on Dell's CD drive and USB port is broken. I have connectivity to the internet and would like to send me the program and then save it to my new computer. I tried without success. Is there a list of guidelines that can guide me through this until I receive a call from home professional?
It is not possible to transfer programs from one computer to the other. You will need to install the programs on the new computer, using the original installation CD or the installation files that you downloaded from the Internet.
When you get the new computer, you can transfer your files (Word, Excel, photos, music, Favorites, etc) to the new computer via a network connection to help Windows Easy Transfer in Windows 7 program.

If you have registered the software when you installed it first, then you might find the serial number in your Adobe account online.

Just bought a Nikon D7200 camera. Had a D7100. 11 of the components support the camera. Using of 11 items, the D7200 will not import the RAW files. I can't go to 14 items because I have Windows Vista... 14 platform not supported by Vista. Looking for something for me to 'trigger' with a new computer due to the fact that Vista can not do a bunch of stuff, so I ordered one with 14 elements. @ I understand that 14 elements does support the Nikon D7200 because it comes with Camera Raw 9.1. Is this correct?
Yes PSE13 or PSE14 will support the D7200

I had photoshop on my windows now the graphics card has gone bad and you want to move to my MAC I pay every month and I am a student, so, how can I transfer accounts until I get a new computer
If you are on subscription, you just install it on your new computer and sign in with your ID Adobe that you used to buy PS when you arrive up to two installs, it will tell you that you have exceeded you install limit and asks if you want to disconnect other computers. Just so disconnect you. No need to have to disable or call Adobe!

I bought a new computer with Windows 7 free upgrade. We also have another office.
I bought a new computer with Windows 7 free upgrade. We also have another desktop computer. My son has paid and downloaded Windows 7 Home Premium on this computer (Asus), not knowing that I had the free update. ASUS sent me free upgrade disks. Can I use these on another desktop computer? Or I can download Windows on another desktop computer and transfer my registration to it, and then use the Asus drives on this computer?
Your question has nothing to do with the functionality of Windows Update (vs Windows upgrade), Jan.
That being said, Asus only can answer your specific question. Good luck!

I have a computer with windows 7 to run on it. I have 2 files of images on my current computer and bought a new computer with windows installed 10. Can I copy these files to a dvd and transfer them to the new computer with windows 10 installed. If so, how can I do it and ask what I should do?
Hello Kenneth
See my response to a similar q in the thread above...
You can use DVD or CD, but an external drive or a USB is so much faster and easier.

Archive e-mail to transfer to the new mail on a new computer with windows7
How to trasfer all my mail archive Outlook Express in Windows XP to another computer with Windows 7 and Windows life messaging or maybe another e-mail with the easyer procedure. I tried Thunderbird, but not in the face of that. The problem major is not just import into another mail prigramm, but also transfer to another computer.
Another small issue. I had my system after a PDF Creator program. I tried to transfer it to my new computer, but it did not work. Can you suggest any free download of PDF creator, it is preferable to transfer and how?
You are welcome. I've never used a PDF Creator, just a player. Is the program you have a creator of 32-bit? Maybe it's time to Google for a 64-bit.

Transfer my hard drive to a new computer.
I bought a new computer, and I want to transfer my hard drive on my new computer, so I can't transfer files, 1 and 2 to expand my space even more. When I installed the hard drive from my old to my new computer and boot from the old hard drive it breaks down and a blue screen on me, the blue screen does not last long enough for me to get this information. Can someone help me get my harddrive is over?
I don't see any info regarding what computer or OS. Installs Windows will do exactly as explained when moved to another computer dissimilar. Need information on the old hard drive, start the operating system that came on the computer and then try to watch the news on the old hard drive. Do not expect to be able to run all the programs that are installed on the hard drive of old.
Take look at this guide: http://www.geckoandfly.com/5993/transfer-files-from-windows-xp-to-windows-7-with-windows-easy-transfer/

Original title: upgrade question.
I currently have a PC running XP in a system with an IDE drive. The system has many applications that the company has moved the installation discs, so I need to move the contents of the entire disk to a new system. I was about to do the following:
System backup with a recovery boot disk, in this case a USB.
Restore the entire operating system to a new system that will have a SATA drive in it. The new system will have a COST for Windows 7.
Start the XP and upgrade to Windows 7.
My question is, will it work or the absence of the COA of XP on the new system will prevent me to install?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
The fShort answer, "no, this will not work."
It is unclear what you mean by 'backup' and 'restore', but it seems that if you are referring to the creation of a disk image or a clone of disk on an external drive and then either restore the image or cloning to the new computer. Assuming that both of these computers was provided with Windows pre-installed, this process will almost certainly result in a facility that cannot be 'activated '. In addition, unless the software you use has something like Acronis Universal Restore, restore the image from your old computer to a player in a new computer with a different hardware simply will not work.
In addition, the lack of an XP license is not the issue. There are several problems with the process you describe, but basically, an "upgrade" from XP to Win 7 requires a "custom installation" which means that applications should be re-installed.
