Transferring files to the SD card

I am copying some MP3 files from my Windows 7 PC to an SD/SDHC card using a card reader integrated.

I formatted the card and tried to transfer files individually and collectively, but in both cases the transfer window stay showing 'calculation' for several minutes, before throwing up error 0 x 80070079: semaphore period has expired.

I do not think that there is a problem either with SD/SDHC card (I tried to use one of each) as transfer of small files (for example, text document, spreadsheet Excel) fine.

I can't believe, it is not possible to transfer the 45 MB of music files, until I'm doing wrong?

Thank you very much

TWO likely causes:

The card is faulty or needs to be reformatted

Your computer does not work correctly.  Try using a card reader external that you can buy for about $5

    Hi Bernard Major,.

    1 did you change the permission for the files you are trying to copy?

    2. What place you are trying to copy the files?

    3. are you able to copy the same files on another computer?

    You can try to copy files to another location on the computer and check.

    Step 1:

    I recommend you to check if you have enough permission on the card reader to transfer files.

    See the link to apply authorization:

    What to know before applying permissions to a file or folder

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-to-know-before-applying-permissions-to-a-file-or-folder

    Step 2:

    If you're still having problems, then run Check disk to repair the bad sectors.

    a. Click Start, in the start search bar type cmd, right-click on the command prompt icon in the box programs and then click Run as administrator.

    b. Type X: (for the card reader drive letter) and press enter

    c. at the command prompt, type chkdsk /f and then press ENTER.

    Now, type chkdsk/r

    Note: CHKDSK would attempt to recover bad sectors on the hard disk, in the course of this process there are chances of DATA loss from that particular area. You can save the data on the disk before you perform a checkdisk.

    Recently, when I download files from the SD card, LR6 not rename the files. How can I fix it?

    If I open the folder, not through Lr, I can rename the file. Now, the problem disappeared. Maybe it was related to the DD. I removed and put back in place the protections in SD via the menu of my camera and the problem disappeared. Now, he works as usual. Amount and rename the files by LR. Thank you for your interest

    =============================
    I do not think that the 'Read only' attribute of your
    file is the problem... in fact, it is typical.
    All files on my XP Pro system have a
    Square marker (not checked) to playback
    Only the check box.

    If you want to experiment the following article...

    Right click on the new folder that you created in my

    I receive this information when you try to cory files - the disk is write protected, remove protection from disk or use another disk

    If there is nothing on the SD card, you need at this time, do a right click on the drive letter and format the card. Other than that, or it's just a bad card, I have no other ideas.

  • Why my text is written to a file on the SD card seems to be corrupted

    The files created by an application of BB on the SD card cannot be seen with the Windows Notepad.

    I have an application that has created some text on the SD card files. However, files seems to be corrupted under windows, but the BB app can read files very well and it takes exactly what is written. The BB OS encrypts the files?

    Here is the code

                    fconn = (FileConnection) Connector.open("file:///store/home/user/Config.doc", Connector.READ_WRITE);

                    os = (DataOutputStream) fconn.openDataOutputStream();

                    writeString(os, "1234567890");
                    writeString(os, "abcdefg");

                    os.flush();
                    os.close();
                    fconn.close();

        private void writeString(DataOutputStream os, String s)
        {
             try
             {
                 os.writeInt(s.trim().length());
                 os.write(s.trim().getBytes());
             }
             catch (IOException e) {}
        }

    If you see a .rem extension added file name, this means that the DRM file and can only be decrypted by this BlackBerry. This can happen if encryption is enabled for the media card (take a look at the Options-> Security-> Encryption). In addition, it is possible to control programmatically if the files that you create will be encrypted or not: If the FileConnection is an instance of ExtendedFileConnection you can then call various interesting methods in this regard.

  • transferring files to the slow nas Server

    I just bought a new PC (HP Compaq) with Windows 8 and you have a NAS from Synology DS209 server. I joined this as a networkdrive, but it's extremely slow to copy files from the PC to the network (24 Kbps) drive. The two units are wired (no WIFI) directly to the router. With Windows 7, I had NO problem, and I tried with a portable Win7 - no problem.

    Someone knows what to do?

    Anti-spyware programs can certainly cause network performance problems.  If a program is the only difference between now and before, then this is probably the cause of the problem.

    Fortunately, you have created a restore point before installing each program.  You could install Spybot and restore if he did cause the problem.  Another factor could be if there is another program, such as Norton Internet Security, which also provided spyware protection they could have a conflict.
