Translation of interactive reports
Hi guys,.
APEX 5.0.1.
Oracle 11G
I've translated an application in English in Chinese simplified and Chinese traditional application using APEX_UTIL. SET_SESSION_LANG & P_LANG setting and it works very well. But when I try to run the application in translated mode, all application translated very well, except the interactive Menu Actions. Please see the screenshot below:
Can someone please tell me I missed something, or is there by default behavior of APEX?

Hi Pavel,
There is a difference between the way that APEX manages translations of your own channels of application and internal messages of APEX (and in the way you need to translate).
The part that you have translated are your own messages. The part that you have to do is internal messages of the APEX. To do this you must load the translations of these texts in the APEX. Out of the box what APEX supports +/-10 languages for other languages, you can check translated - apex.com to see if the language is available for download here.
Normally, you just need to load these messages only once per language (and perhaps re - publish the application after that, not sure 100%) and then everything should work.

Does anyone know a way to translate the titles registered interactive report for a multilingual application?
I mean saved reports reports of type "Default Alternative" that are defined by an administrator (so not by end users).
Not sure if there is a way from an admin account sets these reports in the runtime environment, but they are registered/vissible in the IDE, so maybe there's a way.
I can't find in the repository of the translation.

Hi there,
Unfortunately, there is not a way for you to translate the names of the default Alternative to the interactive reports. This is a known bug issued / filed against Application Express.

Customize the Action menu in the interactive report
To change the word 'Action' in the menu of the interactive report.
Apex 4, we had the 'Image of the Action menu' option, but the Apex 5 this option disappeared.
This isn't in known issues in the Apex 5!

Permission interactive report Menu
Hi all
I'm working on APEX 4.2.
My question is related to the 'Actions' interactive report Menu. I have the schema for custom authorization distinguishing users to be "Admin" and "General" users. I want this 'Format' inside the Actions menu interactive report only works for Admins and not for other users.
I don't see any way to authorize it. Can it be done? Is this feasible?

Yes, they (Oracle APEX development team) have rewritten the IR functionality in APEX 5.0.
There no id to put in shape the options of the menu/menu like APEX 5.0, several IR features are introduced.
In a valid HTML markup, id should be assigned to one and only one tag, so there is no ID of IR APEX 5.0 from previous versions where interactive report per page is allowed.
How to identify what menu option to hide/show it takes little research on jQuery selectors.
How to target the menu 'Actions' of particular IR (assume that there are several IRs), is to use the static region for IR and then ID through jQuery selectors, you can select the particular item in the closed area. For example, you can use the parent-child selector.
I'll post an example of the same thing in a while.
Good luck with that. The new structure (supposed to be improved) has no specific hooks, only arbitrary IDS and generic classes option. Looks like you will need to select the content option (which can cause the complexity of the problems/extra in translated apps) or classes icon. Using either, you have to cross to the top the tree to get the required parent nodes that will not be effective.
The elephant in the room here is that security functions can be implemented using JavaScript and dynamic actions only. If the server displays the content then you should assume that the user (or an attacker) has access to it.
4.2, the safest is to create 2 IR separate pages with the authorisation schemes applied and also to use the authorisation schemes to control the connection to the correct page depending on the privileges of the user. In 5.0, you can take advantage of the ability to have several IR regions on one page and use the authorization scheme to control one appears. Yes, it's repetitive, but it's also safer.
Added support for the authorisation on the actions of the IR schemes would be a great feature request...

I have a page on request with an interactive report (IR) and a card provided by card Oracle APEX. I have a text box and a button "submit". The user enters a value in the text box, clicks submit, and I run an international registration based on this value.

It sounds like I want to I am registered at tryapexnow.com and set up a test page with a text box, a "submit" button and an IR based on the content of the text box. In the definition of region IR, I put the text box such as the 'Page elements to send.
The new attribute "Page to go" has been added to the regions of IR type, classic, tabular and plug-ins report having this feature is enabled. The values of the specified page elements will be subject to a partial 'Refresh of Page' request to implement session state, so that they can be used in the WHERE clause of the SQL statement in regions. A 'Refresh of Page partial' can be triggered with the dynamic action of "Refresh", by changing the sort or paginate.
Then, I created a dynamic Action "Refresh" to update the IR area when the user clicks the submit button.
I've tested this and it worked exactly as I wanted - i.e. IR is based on the box without a full page sent.
Problem is it's all in 4.1, which is probably a few weeks of production. Something similar is possible in 4.0.2.00.07?

Center alignment based on aggregation interactive report.
Hello. I have an interactive report. It has a few columns to summarize. So I used aggregate in the menu actions to sum them. It works very well. But the problem is it is appears on the right side. I want that it will display at the centre.
Is it possible to display it in the Center? Thank you.
Try to apply css custom on the aggregate column. In an application that uses the universal theme, I added the CSS inline to the page of the report below.

Creating interactive reports Hyperion installation assembled lack?

Trying to install interactive of the Enterprise Performance Management suite version Reporting 11.1.2.4.0, downloading programs Client of EMP and the EPM System Release file1 system installation, File2 and File3 File4 on this download Hyperion Foundation Services downloads page as well as part 7 and Oracle HTTP Server since this Oracle Hyperion Interactive Reporting downloads page. I extracted them all in the same folder and when I go to install the components of interactive reporting is grayed out and I get the following errors:
EPMINS-01047: the Assembly biplus_core_services is missing. The Assembly is needed to install a selected component.
Status: EPMINS-01016: impossible to install the selected component. Click help to see the possible reasons.
I was wondering what I am missing in my downloads? What download includes the bi_plus_core_services Assembly?
Part 4 should be biplus_core_services

I got a task to set alternating line colors in my interactive report.
IM using Oracle 11 g Database XE with APEX 5.0.0.00.31 2.
I searched current debates and following this thread:

It's all totally obsolete with respect to the 5.0 APEX where interactive reports have been completely redesigned and rebuilt.
To complete the full version number of APEX, always indicate what theme and browser (s) / version (s) you use when asking questions of shape/layout visual layout.

Footer text region appearing to the right of the BAR INTERACTIVE REPORT SEARCH page
We are the migration of Express 4.2.1 application at Apex 5.0.2
We use the 22 Bluejay theme.
In my interactive reports, I the text entered in the regions 'Header and footer' > footer text, including 4 Apex, rendering at the foot of the report.
The Apex 5, the same text renders in a new column to the right of the search bar of interactive report.
Is it a question of model, or a builder bug?
I can't find where in the model I can adjust the positioning of the text 'Footer region'

On the interactive report currency symbol

I have an interactive report where I showed the book sterlling £ as currency symbol for sal column. By default sing it currency appears as $. To replace it, I used the below stated as a front page header:
run immediately "alter session set NLS_CURRENCY =" £"';"
SAL, column, I gave the below format:
FML999G999G999G999G990D00
It works very well and shows £ sign with number of salary on each line. The problem starts when I navigate to the next page, because it starts to show $ instead of £ unless I refresh the page.
Can anyone suggest a solution for the problem please?
I don't want to use TO_CHAR to set the currency symbol, because I want to keep the SAL column as a number so that I can sort my data on SAL and I can also group this column.

Rather than use a use "before the" process page header"in the Application-> the shared components->-> Session-> Code PL/SQL to initialize the security attributes database as follows:

To update the database by using selection lists in an interactive report
I use the Application Express 4.2.6.00.03.
I have an interactive report in two columns with a selection list in the second column. The generated query the report is

Now I need to find a way to change the database to reflect the changes made to a select list that appears in the second column (batch) as they are made. Are there any suggestions as to how this could be done? I have experience of limited Java script if a solution that I can use directly would be great.

Why does P10_PHOTO exist when there is already an article for the download of files in P10_IMG1?

Query does not work in: interactive report _ APEX

I have two table QB_COLLEGE_DETAILS and QB_STUDENT_DETAILS, in the college details are stored in the QB_COLLEGE_DETAILS table and by studying the details are stored in the QB_STUDENT_DETAILS table. In the primary key table and foreign key in the COLLEGECODE. Now, I created the interactive report using code below, but does not receive the correct value in the number of student column (see image below).

There is no correlation in your "virtual column" subquery to restrict the number of students for each college. The request must be:

However, unless there are a large number of colleges to which no students registered, it is likely that it will be more efficient to use an outer join:
select c.collegename , c.collegecode , c.coordname , c.coordemail , count(s.student_register_number) student_count from qb_college_details c left outer join qb_student_details s on c.collegecode = s.collegecode group by c.collegename , c.collegecode , c.coordname , c.coordemail
