travel in europe

I have to go to Germany to work in a few weeks. I have a Lenovo 3000 n500 laptop. Someone know if I need a power converter to run my laptop and charge the battery, or will I just need an adapter. I appreciate any help I can get. It is the first trip from New York to Europe and also my first laptop.

killer316, welcome to the forum,

all you need is a plug adapter or cord, see here , which is also linked to additional information.

Hope this helps

  • Travel through Europe

The last time I went to Europe, I couldn't Skype who subscribed to the United States to work. I had to sign up again with a European version and when I got home I couldn't stop it and they kept me. I couldn't call someone and I couldn't stop it. How do you get the Skype us to work. I'm in Ireland and Scotland during the month of August, and I don't want to go there again.

    Hello

The best solution for you would be simply to buy Skype credit

    You need a subscription.

TIME ZONE - US EAST. LOCATION - PHILADELPHIA, PA, USA.

I recommend that you always run the latest version of Skype: Windows & Mac

  • What happens to iMessage when I use a Sim Card in Europe

I intend to get a prepaid Sim Card for my iPhone 6 s when I travel in Europe in a few weeks.  I wonder if I still have iMessages since most of the people that iMessage use me my (Verizon) cell phone number.  I get all the iMessages on my iPad and computer laptop too through my e-mail, so I guess that the two e mail and cell number are used by the ap.  In addition, what happens to my iMessage when I come back and turn on my regular sim card?

You will not be able to get the iMessages as when you put in the new SIM card, your iPhone to record with a new number. You can add e-mail addresses to your address list under which you are reachable, then iMessages sent one of these e-mail addresses.

  • Exchanges of cards SIM for the USA to Europe

I need information on what to look for and how to swap a sim card in an iPhone 6 when traveling to Europe.  (Verizon)

    _ favorite carriers

    _ how to activate

    _ pre-paid (favorite)

_What I have to look for.

    Thank you.

Pop SIM try using a SIM tool or a small paper clip.

Put Verizon SIM somewhere safe (I mine band inside the cover of my passport).

    Equip local SIM.

    Restart the phone.

The provider may have additional instructions. When you return home, if you can not connect to cellular data, you can find that the carrier installed a profile on your phone. You will need to remove it. Settings > general > device management.

With regard to these carriers, you need looking for what's available in the country you visit, what pricing is and what is logic based on how you plan to use your phone. If you are not going to travel for a long period of time, you can explore the options of Verizon. They have recently added some international fare much better.

  • BlackBerry smartphone charging my BlackBerry in Europe

If I travel to Europe from the United States with my ordinary American charger, I need transformer to charge my phone, or would I just need to move to a European style charger? i.e. is the brand of voltage difference a difference when the load?

Many BlackBerrys come with different plug adapters. If you don't have that, you need transformer for your listing of American style, or get a plug of charger of European style.

    So yes, anyway.

  • T400 customized with warranty in the USA and Europe

    Hi all!

In Spain, I'm going to be in the United States for a while and then travelling from Europe to the USA a few months. I would buy a T400 with display LED WXGA +, webcam, ATI 3470 and PCMCIA slot. In Spain he has unique laptop with that spec, those who display have the ATI or pccard housing with the ATI and the PCMCIA slots is not the WXGA + and the camera, and you can not choose any kind of portable custom... However, all the Spanish ones I could find were also guaranteed in the United States.

So I came with the USA Lenovo's online store, you will choose your laptop as you wish (Finally, right now, they have not the WXGA + LED display with the camera), but looks like they offer only the machine "2764" for the T400, without warranty in Europe. However in the Lenovo UK online store also would change the 2764 WITHOUT WARRANTY IN UK?

    So my questions are:

    1. does anyone know if the 2764 has service warranty in Europe (al least UK) or not?

2 - If you buy the laptop online in the USA shop, always send you the 2764?

is 3 - possible to order another type of machine, setting up custom and guaranteed valid in Europe?

4 - anyone know what LED WXGA + and the camera will be available again (it's in the shop online UK now)?

Someone suggested that the 2764 is not guaranteed in Europe to avoid buying from Europe, but which has no sense for me because there are other models in the webshop with warranty in Europe (such as the R400).

Regarding the specifications of systems, I want to buy, in case someone knows if there is a portable "pre-configured" with her (although not appearing only not to the expedition of Tabuk, I already checked) and European security:

    Intel Core 2 Duo processor P9500 (2,53 GHz 1066 MHz 6MBL2) 25W
    14.1 WXGA + (1440 x 900) TFT, w / backlight LED and camera
ATI Mobility Radeon 3470 with 256 MB
    2 GB PC3 - 8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1067 MHz SODIMM Memory (1 DIMM)
UltraNav (TrackPoint and TouchPad) with fingerprint reader
160 GB hard disk drive, 5400 RPM
Without hard disk Turbo Memory cache
DVD recordable 8 x Max dual layer, Ultrabay Slim (Serial ATA)
Express Card Slot & slot for PC card (without memory card reader)
    Integrated Bluetooth PAN
Intel WiMAX/WiFi Link 5350 (AGN) with my WiFi technology
Integrated AT & T (3G) Mobile Broadband card
Battery Li - ion 4 cells

Thanks for your help and your time!

  • Download of iPad Mini 4

I will travel to Europe in about two months and I'll be shooting hundreds of photos.

-Ideally - this is the workflow that I want to implement, but I don't know if it's possible with the iPad.

1 - Upload photos on iPad with the Apple card reader.

2 - Download said photos from iPad to my external hard drive 4 existing Passport via the Apple camera kit. Namely:

iPad > camera kit > drive hard portable Ext. USB passport. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Step 1 is of course feasible. Step 2 is not. You cannot use the camera kit to connect a hard drive of passport.

  • Lines on my pictures

I am traveling in Europe with two cameras and my Ipad. Has decided to take the IPad instead of my MacBook Pro. All the photos - two cameras - see the black lines about a 1/8 of the way on the right side of each image. I have two different connectors, used two cameras and different memory cards. It must be the Photo software. I have the current IOS. Fortunately, I have not removed hundreds of images from memory cards and download them to my desk top when I get home, but all the images on my IPad are unusable. Anyone has this problem and a solution?

I assume that the lines are not there when you look at other materials. THA eliminates the ipad hardware problem.

Since the two separate cameras with the same problem, it is unlikely that both would fail at the same time, with the same problem.

The question, therefore, can be either software, or a piece of hardware that is common to the two cameras.

Standard to solve software problems are reset and restore.

Reset: hold the Home and Power buttons until you see the Apple logo (15 to 20 seconds).

If no change, I'd take the evaluation from the nearest Apple Store system.

  • Subpoena Skype records via Court

Okay, I'm a fairly new user to Skype, about three months now. I joined mainly to have a phone number I could use while I was traveling to Europe to avoid the outrageous roaming charges from Verizon. I bought a Skype phone number. While I was away on vacation, I received three calls from someone that I am currently in a legal battle with over the harassment and stalking. I wanted to know who I can contact or my lawyer to assign these records? From what I've read so far, Skype does not have the telephone number that is given to me. Help would be very appreciated!

    BTW, I'm from the US.

    I hope this helps.

  • Bought a phone #, do not receive calls

Skype on iPhone. Paid to say # and phone settings I, but incoming calls do not come! Says it goes to voice mail, but it does not sound again. I'm online, so it isn't that.

Traveling to Europe and the aging parents need to be able to call us.

    Help!

UPDATE: works after all. It might not work because I have several facilities-iphone, laptop and desktop. I left all connected first of all that the office and called from the fixed line home-success. Then quit that, connected to the laptop computer and called success. Then quit that and connected on phone portable-success. Be sure to check the settings for accepting calls under tools options privacy protection.

This is not what I hoped for, is for voicemail be left when I'm offline. In other words, someone calls my phone number iphone Skype and because I am not connected to a wifi, they get the message. Leave a message has not created a voice message when I logged in.

  • SMS vs iMessage

I am traveling in Europe, gave disabled on my iPhone not connected to the wifi issue I'm having is when people send me an iMessage, I don't get it until I am connected to wifi.  Shouldn't the iMessages being sent to me come thru as SMS texts when I turned off data?

No. iMessages is a service of data (from Apple) and does not pass through the same channel as the SMS which is a porter service. iMessage requires an internet connection by cell phone or WiFi.

  • International roaming

I am currently living in the United States, but often travel in Europe (particularly UK/Ireland). I noticed there are differences between the LTE 4 G covered between the pure and the Style bands. The band most commonly used in Europe seems to be band 20 / 800 MHz O2 - UK and Vodafone UK uses exclusively. What is the reason for not to cover all the bands around the world on both phones? Are there plans to cover all the bands on the next versions of the Pure? My main reason for wanting to upgrade the DROID RAZR MAXX HD to the Moto X Pure was due to the band 4 G LTE coverage limited on the Droid. Not covering Strip 20 LTE is a major drawback for me. I'm on Verizon, if I had to buy the Style of the United Kingdom she would work on the Verizon network in the United States on the CDMA and 4G LTE?

Band 20 isn't the LTE gang more commonly used in Europe, but it is more frequently used. O2 is currently LTE on tape only 20. Vodafone supports the bands 7 & 20 for LTE. Get a sim card that works best for the place where you are going to be. If you plan to use a SIM for US, realize that they cannot give access to LTE anyway, and you will be on any network, they have an agreement with.

  • Power converter

Do I need a special power converter when traveling to Europe for my camera Powershot sx60?

    Hi Marty28!

Welcome to the Canon Forums and thank you for your post!

You can actually use your charger overseas without any problem. The charger is designed for AC voltage 100v-240v 50/60 Hz

Need an adapter to fit the wall socket, but you may not have a voltage transformer.

    We hope this helps!
