Trigger on audio end action

I have a piece of audio on my Captivate 9 calendar. When the timeline reaches the end of the audio, I need an advanced action.

Dr. Google has solutions that appear to rely on javascript custom in Captivate and be added to the published output of HTML5, but that the customer will have during the interview of the project once I finished it's not a road I want to take.

I've seen a solution where you have the action delayed in a tip action for the same duration as the audio but that it does not work if the user made a break from reading?

Is a native way to Captivate of trigger and action when an audio piece ends?

Yes, I'm a newbie, but the absence of events that can trigger actions starts to become a matter of concern.

If you use only HTML output, the easiest way is to use the new widget developed by InfoSemantics CpExtra (not included with Captivate, but this is the best investment to extend the features of Captivate I know - watch out I have no connection with this company!):

In addition it is 'growth' continuously, and one of the features is exactly what you want: provide an event at the end of a video clip.

Take a look:

The new order of delay in advanced actions won't actually help if you allow the user to to pause playback.

  • Chronology/chapter end Action preference

When you set an end action, what is the difference between the end of chapter and the timeline action?  If they are both set to the same thing, I get a warning about it, but if it is not set and the other is, there is a warning about who is not defined.

Here's my situation - I 8 timelines, each of them is an episode of content.  They are available individually in their own menus.  When one of them finishes playing, they return to their submenu and move to whatever the special function keys.

I have also a play all function from the main menu that points to a playlist with all 8 episodes.  It will play them one after another, without interruption.  The problem however, is that if the user tries to jump to chapter within this playlist, you can jump to the second episode, but after that I get an icon "no function" on my player trying to jump ahead.

I guess that means that the player is looking for access at the end of the second episode, but not finding what he needs.  If I compare episode 1 episode 2, they have the same timeline and action chapter functions.  Why he lurched past the episode 1 but not 2?

Answered my own question.  I had a bit of a subtitle file that has spent the end of the video track in the timeline.  This seems to cause errors with end actions.

It would be helpful to know the difference between chronology and end of chapter actions and how to avoid their being the same definition warning messages.

  • End action of timeline

Hi, am a ncor project. I want action by the end of the timeline to return to the main menu and stop. But being inexperienced, I don't know where to put the end point of chronology. If I put the last marker of chapter (for curtain call and credits) to return to the main menu, he claims that he will not run because of action by the end of the last chapter. If I put the marker of the last chapter to "not defined", he somehow returns automatically at the beginning of Chapter 2. Arrgghhh! How to make the calendar (or the last chapter marker) to return to the main menu and stop? Thank you all! ~ Bond

Select the timeline in the project Panel. Then in properties, set the end action.

  • Video end action - load new page

How can I create/add an end action to load a new page, once a HTML5 video played?  Basically having a menu, play videos full screen and the browser to return to the menu of the host/principal at the end of the video page.  Need to do this in a browser to a Terminal, not use DVD playback software so that I can remove the screen controls.

It's just the IDE fighting with built in the flash.events.VideoEvent class. Change the code to be explicit:

    Import fl.video.VideoEvent;

    VIDEO1.addEventListener (fl.video.VideoEvent.COMPLETE, onCompleteF);

    function onCompleteF (e:fl.video.VideoEvent): void

    {

    gotoAndStop (1);

    }

  • End action will not run due to the action of late about final chapter

I'm still doing my first project, and I get this error message: end action will not run because of the end about final chapter action.

    My calendar:

I have a unique calendar consisting of a couple of reviews. There is a "chapter Starting Point" yet and 3 additional Points of chapter, I added.

    My goal:

    • A main Menu with
      • A 'Play' button that simply plays the entire timeline, beginning to end, and when finished go back to the main Menu.
      • A 'Scènes' button which brings up a submenu
    • A submenu with 4 buttons of chapter, which each would play a chapter in the timeline and return to the same/auto submenu when finished.

    My end Actions:

It seems that the end Action is necessary for what is defined. Thus,.

    • The Action of 'end' of the timeline is to return to the main Menu.
    • The Action of 'end' for each chapter in the timeline must return to the submenu.

    My flowchart

    • First thing that works is the main Menu.
      • Links Play button of the timeline (which the end action is back to the main menu).
      • The scenes in the submenu button links
    • In the submenu, each chapter button links to the chapter Point suitable in the timeline (each chapter has an end action to return to the submenu).

All of this makes perfect sense to me and it reflects exactly what I want to do. If clearly, it won't work!

When I check my project, I get the error mentioned above. I do not understand how it is even possible to avoid this error: your timeline MUST have an end action, your timeline must have at least a chapter point and each chapter MUST have an end action.

Thus, by definition, it seems that still

    • REQUIRES the timeline for action to end,
    • REQUIRES the last chapter on the timeline to have an end action, and
    • Gives you an error when you do what it takes.

    What the...?

    My solution

I was finally able to work around the problem by creating a playlist of "chapter" for each chapter, that is, I created a "Chapter 1 Playlist" where the content has been a link to the chapter Point 1, a "Chapter 2 Playlist" where the content has been a link to Chapter 2 Point, etc.

Then in my submenu, instead of linking to a Chapter Point, I've linked to a list of reading chapter instead and in each Chapter Playlist I put an end to "return to the submenu" action

It worked - but it really seems kludgy and I can't help but shake the feeling that I do something wrong or I'm doing something good?

Your "Workaround" is the current main method. Chapter Playlists are a "function". Yes, it seems kludgy, but it avoids the use of substitutions, which are necessary for your first method and cause many headaches without end users.

Chapters DO NOT need action to end and your workaround solution, should not have their.

Main timeline, end to the main menu action.

Chapter playlists, end to the submenu action.

No further action at the end of editing/chapter.

  • Back to Chapter 1 but end action the timeline loop

    Hi all

Trying to CS6 yet precise deadlines for a reader blu - ray loop.  I understand that the way to do this is to set the end Action of timeline to the first chapter.  I did it for all the times in question, but none of them will acutally loop.  At the end of the video, the timeline returns to the previous menu screen.

    Videos are encoded H264 720 p Blu - Ray.

A reflection as to why he is behaving in this way?  I'll try to remove and re-import the assets, re-building/linking the chronology, but other than that I am ideas.

Let me know if you need more information.  Thanks for your suggestions!

    Lindsay

Good mystery solved!  I re - set theTimeline on "Not defined", but substitution has not re-set the override button on "not defined".  With the two substitutes 'No Set' desired deadlines are loop now correctly.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction, John

  • End action chapter and play together

    Hello

I play with doing a DVD myself (I usually send to and editor to do)

I test the DVD and I must say the videos to go back to the menu when playing instead of going to another

    video.

It is a self-help DVD with a lot of exercises... so many chapters.

    Menu page 1

All the videos of the key 4 (video action menus) and another link to dvd page 2... who has 8 short videos with buttons, I have a play...

a game as this button and a button of main menu

Page 1 I want the videos to return to the main menu when doen so the customer plays the video itself

and every play if the shot of the room this button.

On Page two, with eight videos... I'm already all set up to play exactly the place I want to play (I had to do a bit of adjustment to get their perfect

but am happy now) problem, is if I hit the 6 button it play video 6-7-8... and I want to return to the menu of page two.

I also want the playall button to play all.

I searched you tube and forums and even asked an editor and do not get the case.

    I don't know what I'm asking or seeking :-)

If someone could point me in some direction I would really appreciate it!

    Thank you very much

    Soshman

What you do are not as simple as it seems, but not so hard...

Remove any action chapter that you may have defined. Also remove the substitutions if you set one.

For EACH chapter, you want to play by itself, to create a CHAPTER playlist and add just a chapter in there. Set the action of the end of each chapter of playlist "last menu."

In the menus that read the chapters, bind a chapter button to a chapter playlist. Each chapter will play and back.

Each separate scenario (4 deadlines that will have a video of each) will have an end action of 'back to the last menu.'

Create a playlist (not a playlist chapter this time) and put 4 inside timelines in the order you want them to play for the ' game all.» Set the action to the end of the playlist "last menu." Link to the playlist to the play button all.

  • End Action... André due the end about final chapter to action

    I am still using CS5:

Question 1: Is it far from seeing the full wording problem? All I see when I do a check is: the end of action... André as point action ofend on the last chapter

Question 2: I tried several methods and read information on the forum, but I still have the problem. What is the problem and what is the fix?

In earlier versions, the message basically says: "The end Action will not run, because the end Action, a last Point Chapert." This isn't really an error message, but an informational message telling you that your Playlist, or chapter Playlist has an Action of end and which will have precedence on an end Action in a timeline.

What is the resolution of your screen. Often when a dialog box is truncated, it's a thing of resolution, but it seems Stanley becomes the same truncation.

  • Chronology of the lines, THEN did end Action

    Still using 5.0.0.508

I have a timeline with several videos and chapters in it. In the project there are no substitutions. If the timeline is played, it gets to the end time, RESTARTS until the end, even once and THEN executes the end Action... No idea what's going on here, as I am new to the program. Help would be greatly appreciated!

It is difficult to know for sure that you have no substitutions, so watch that you do the following.

Look at each chapter in the timeline; one of them have a defined end action? I've had situations where an end action is added to a chapter marker without me defining an end action.

Several videos on a timeline has produced odd results sometimes. No reason it should do what you describe. The most common current workflow is a single video by chronology, then a playlist for combining deadlines in a playlist.

  • End action Override vs

Yet CS4: I'm confused about the function of substitution.  Page 146 of the manual says:

"... If the viewer wants to play the clips individually, you can make the player to return to the main menu after playing a single timeline. To achieve this, you create separate buttons for each scenario. Then you link each button to its individual Assembly and set replacement for the link... »

I don't have a timeline, and several manufacturers of chapter.  I would be able to replace it by "Chaperones makers" of chronology in the above?

    For example, I have a time line with chapter markers A, B, C, D, E

1st option menu "Play All" and plays A-E in the order.

The button "play A' cheek has then goes back to the menu.  Ditto for B and D key.

«Play this button plays C chapter then E (since they are related) and then return to the menu.»

I use chapter playlists in the past, but it is possible using actions to end as well as replacements?

N ° do not use the end actions as well as replacements for what you want to achieve.

Chapter playlists are exactly what you want to use for your configuration... assuming that you create not a Blu - ray disc, as Chapter playlists function not currently for Blu - ray (Adobe has not properly encoded to create them, even if the format supports)

  • Play an entire movie with chapter points end-action together

My calendar is two hours. film containing several chapters. Chapters end action points to next chapter mark. Substitute points to a scenes Menu button. In this configuration "scene playing" stops correctly by returning to the Scene Menu, but play movie stops on the first point of chapter, he meets and also goes to the menu. I tried to create a chapter list, and (in part to the fact that the chapter lists do not work on Blu - Ray according to the manual), this bypasses the end action setting when playng the chapter list, but there is a pause of 1 second to each chapter Point. One way around this problem would be to insert fade out-fade ins for each chapter, only I like the continuity of my movie...

Is there a more elegant solution to this problem?

Obviously, without the settings of the end Action of the entire movie plays flowlessly, but each button in Menus scene will play beyond the end of the chapter.

    Thank you for your time,

    Daniel

Let me explain what I am suggesting to me.

    1. divide the media together for example 2 Hrs in 10 (number of chapters) and create a separate time for each line. (You can do this in even crop assets in the timeline). The size will be same except if you have more then 2 Hrs of media altogether on all the lines in time.

    2. connect the time lines end actions for the continuous play.

    3. create the separate playlist for Indivisual chapter (timeline) and set the end action of chapter. No substitutions are necessary.

  • End action menu is selected

    Hello

Does anyone know if there is a way to set the end action of a menu for the selected button?

    Thank you very much

    Leigh

I think he wants the user to have a chance to select a button, then, when the Morel gets to end his action (probably it's menu otion am), it will be this button to active.

The answer is 'no', unless it is correct for the user to get a selection, in this case, you might autoactivate to a menu of dupe, or simply use a link transition to do something, until the selection played.

    Leiski, what you're doing?

  • still end action error.

    Hi all.

I just put together a slideshow with his Prem Pro project. I dynamicaly connected again and have built my menus and buttons. I have a main menu with Play DVD button, and click on a chapter. 3 another menu hold 3 chapters each, next, previous and main menu button. Menu 4 holds the final chapter button a precedent and a main menu button.

In the main Menu, choose chapter selection, I can select each chapter and all of the buttons in each menu do what they are supposed to. When I select a chapter he plays like I want it, then returns as it should to the menu page. The problem occurs when I select the READING of DVD button in the main menu. He plays initially, but only until the end of the intro (1 chapter) and then returned to the menu first chapter. He will not play the slide show in its entirety. the audit of the project, in the problem section it States 'law on the end... t run due to the end about the final chapter to action '. I had this set to, menu return to the main by default, the Overide button like, together and remote Menu as a return to the last menu. No mater what I tried to put in the end action area, Play DVD button will not play time line in its entirety. When I saw the final chapter, he plays as it should, then returns to the page main menu as the precepts of end action.

    All of the suggestions.

    a5teve.

    P.S. I'm on CS4 production premium.

If you set an end on a chapter action, when you play the timeline, he gets this chapter and takes place as performed by action at the end of this chapter.  so that explains why your "reading dvd/play all" was not working.

And if you have an end action of chaperones set on the last chapter on a timeline, you get a technical error, because it can make as a single action of end - end of chapter or the end of the calendar action action.  But ignoring that the error does not have a question.

There are some playlists, and chapter playlists.  A chapter playlist could only 'play all' a chronology, so I don't understand how a chapter playlist solved your problem.

Until I started working with still (then using the simpler programs where this has been managed under the hood), you both a play all and replaces chapters by adding.  Substitutions are now considered as more likely to cause problems.  But this means that the strategy for each chapter is a chapter "chapter playlist" (in your case 9 Chapter playlists) and a play all that plays the entire timeline (with no substitutions and no action at end of chapter).

Or, the preferred method of Hunt, filming each chapter in public relations, each is timeline which can be a chapter, then a playlist manages the game all.

  • VERY new to yet... No defined end Action?

I just upgraded to CS5 first (today).  I was able to get to the point to burn my project and "Check project" has detected an error.  It was "Undefined end Action" for my sequence.  I'm not 100% what it means (and a search turned up 370 points, leaving me very busy).

He asks what I want to do after the last chapter in the sequence (like back to the default value of the Menu) or it asks me what will follow after playing the first chapter in my sequence?  I really doubt it's the last option, but because it is evidence of a form still to go of a scene from Chapter 1 I want to be sure that I bind the correct thing of the EEG.

    Don't me bash, I know I'm stupid!

In the project Message box check, Dbl-Click on this error/warning message, so that you can see exactly where the question.

In this case, there is an asset, probably a timeline, with no set the end Action. This end Action tells the DVD player what to do next, as return to the last Menu. Note: you can have an end Action on several different assets, such as Playlists, and chapter Playlists. Also note: If you have a Playlist with an end Action, and that Playlist are a calendar with their own end Actions, Action by the end of the Playlist is a priority, and check out project will deliver a warning message (looks like a message error, but is just to inform you of this precedence) for this purpose. As long as it's what you want, simply ignore this notification.

End actions according to the DVD player what to do next. As mentioned above, it could be back to the last Menu, it could be to go to another Menu and you can even, with link to specify and the dropdown menu, tell him to go to a Menu with a particular button highlighted. It could also be used to make a loop to the Timeline, where you must set the end Action at the beginning of this timeline. You can also set the end Action a timeline to go to another calendar. A lot of possibilities.

Remember I told you that still was more complicated than the semi-automatic creation GER. Don't be overwhelmed, but just take it slowly. When you get off the 'lay of the land", soon, you will greatly appreciate the new power and control you have. Be overwhelmed will be replaced with great joy, and you'll feel like a God.

I would like to make a recommendation, and you'll thank me later: Jeff Bellune wrote a great book, The easy Guide Adobe EncoreDVD 2.0-Focal, Focal Press, ISBN 0-240-52004-1. Not be put off by the title and version 2.0 of EncoreDVD (I know you have CS5). Everything in this book applies to 100% in Encore CS5. Now CS5 has added a few "tricks" that will NOT be in the book, but this forum and help files will return you those. Jeff book will take you through all aspects of still and navigate through the DVD specifications. It will also teach you how to create illusions, which seem to replace the DVD specifications. Of course, we cannot do that, but the user will think that we have. This book will quickly become your go - to for almost everything in again.

    Good luck

  • Chronology of the end actions does not yet have CS4

I have a project in place with 3 videos with 3 buttons in a menu. I also have an intro video set as the first piece of theatre. The first play video/timeline end action works and opens the menu: no problem. When I select the first button play and play the video at the end on the video, with the end set to the menu, the video action begins to play again and not navigate back to the menu. What is strange, is that the end action works after the second time playing through. The same thing happens with the other buttons/video/delays.  Any suggestions?

Delete all replacements of your timelines and your buttons.  In fact, remove all replacements anywhere in your project.
