  • TRIM function is available on the SSD for XP?

    A TRIM command allows an operating system inform a SOLID-STATE (SSD) drive, the data blocks are no longer considered as being used and can be wiped internally.

    Dealer told me that the TRIM is a function of build-in Windows 7, but not Windows XP.

    Someone has suggestions how work with TRIM? If I install SSD in Window XP.

    Thanks in advance for your suggestions

    You would probably have no difficulty to run 32-bit applications on a 64-bit Windows 7. 64-bit would be preferable to allow the use of more than 4 GB memory. Before the upgrade, run the Advisor...

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/is-is/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor

    .. .he may be material reasons (not associated with a TRIM) or software reasons that would prevent the upgrade.

  • Trim() function does not not in ExtendScript. Is it possible to reproduce the operation?

    The error message says that trim() is not a function. I apply this function to a string.

    Assuming you mean by cutting the removal of whitespace in start and end:

    function trim (str) {
        return str.replace(/^\s+/,'').replace(/\s+$/,'');
    }

    I can't get the standard string Trim() method works in Acro 11 Pro.

    What is happening with this?

    No work around?

    The string trim method was introduced with JavaScript 1.8.1. Acrobat 10/11 is documented as supporting 1.8, which I guess means 1.8.0. It is quite easy to create your own trim function, which will also work with the pre-10 versions Acrobat/Reader.

  • TRIM and Bootcamp

    I know the TRIM THAT is enabled by default on internal SSD Apple of my 2011 iMac, which houses an Apple partition (OS X 10.11.4 beta) and a Windows 7 Bootcamp partition.

    Issues related to the:

    1 - is the Bootcamp Windows 7 also "pruned" default partition?

    2. when it is started in this partition, Bootcamp, enabled by default TRIM there too?

    Or I have to allow him through a command-line in Windows?

    3. I just bought a Samsung 1 TB 850 Pro SSD that I installed temporarily in an external enclosure Thunderbolt to clone both my internal partitions, before eventually transplant the new SSD inside the iMac.

    If I want an SSD Apple not be pruned, I know that in El Capitan, I can activate the TRIM function through a command line in the Terminal.

    Will this action then have no effect on TRIMing the Bootcamp partition?

    Anyone can bring light?

    2 No.

    3 No.

    Bootcamp/Windows has it's own partition separated/IO. Install Samsung magician of the side Windows and check.

  • Impossible to update firmware or to TRIM on Solid State Drive

    I installed an SSD of 530 Intel via the SATA port on my Dell Dimension 8300 and downloaded the Intel Toolbox. He tells me that my system is in IDE mode, and so I can't update the firmware. Without an update, I can't run the TRIM function. I have the version of the BIOS A03 and I can't find a switch for IDE/AHCI mode. Can anyone help? DM

    There is a BIOS A07 you can try, but this system is about ten years and was one of the first systems to support SATA.  Many of them were built with SATA to IDE bridges, which means that they are not capable of real operation SATA AHCI - if this option is not there in A07, this means that your system cannot run in real mode SATA because of the architecture of bridge.

    Windows 7 and upwards is no need for TRIM - only XP and do it earlier, so if you don't have XP, it's yet another reason to get rid of it and upgrade (the other is support for XP ended on April 9, 2014, so there will be new updates of security for her).

  • Function DECODE

    Hello

    on 11.2.0.4,.

    I have:

    SQL > select code, decode (code, 'BD', 'Youth', 'INF', 'adult', 'fff') of genres;

    CODE TO DECODE)

    POL fff

    REC fff

    ROM fff

    THE fff

    Why it cannot transformed comics youth and INF to 'adult '?

    Thank you.

    Defnitely as Frank said, there could be spaces in the column code at the end your code will not work unless you use the TRIM function

    Select the code, decode (Trim (code), "BD", "youth, 'INF', 'adult', ' fff') of genres;

    For PL/SQL collections "index by" you cannot use the TRIM function. If your collection statement excludes the portion "index of...» ", then you can.

  • Carve out the question of the function

    I am very new to SQL and PL/SQL so please be patient with me.  I am trying to write a select statement for a list of values in Oracle Report Builder settings.  I need the list of values to contain the prefix unique instrument for every instrument that we have.  What I have in the database are the instrument unique IDs (prefixes + identification numbers).  I have need to cut all but the prefix of these identification numbers to create a list of values.  I do not know how because I wouldn't be cut the chain in the same way for each prefix of instrument.  For example if I have instrument IDs P123, BN1234, 3 m 123 and IMWR1234 need me the prefixes to be P, NL, 3 m and IMWR.  Is it possible to use a trim function in this situation or is there another function I should use? Any suggestions?

    Hello

    Whenever you have a problem, please post a small example data (CREATE TABLE and only relevant columns, INSERT statements) of all the tables involved, so that people who want to help you can recreate the problem and test their ideas.

    Also post the results you want from this data, as well as an explanation of how you get these results from these data, with specific examples.  For example, "I want the first group of letters at the beginning of the string.  It may or may not be some numbers before the letters; If Yes, I want to include these numbers, too. »

    Always say what version of Oracle you are using (for example, 11.2.0.2.0).

    See the FAQ forum: https://forums.oracle.com/message/9362002

    Maybe you want something like:

    SELECT instrument_id

    REGEXP_SUBSTR (instrument_id,

    ", ' ^ [[: digit:]] * [[: alpha:]] +"

    ) AS instrument_prefix

    Instruments

    ;

    REGEXP_SUBSTR above returns a substring of the bigininng of the string (it is that ^ means).

    The substring consists of 0 or more numbers (* means 0 or more here) followed by 1 or more letters (+ means 1 or more).

  • Why obiee trim values in quick listbox?

    I have a simple dimension for nations with two columns table: name of the nation and the code of the nation.
    Code of the nation is a VARCHAR2 (3). code values might have trailing spaces.
    I have create a prompt for the nation's code, but it only works with those who have three characters length.
    Seems that spaces are trimmed in the quick list box, so the result of the query is not correct.

    Obiee why?
    It's my fault? Where?
    There is a solution?

    Thank you

    I already tried this solution but does not work.

    When you post responses like the one above, you run the risk of not solving your problem for the simple reason to not do something correctly. Already you've got advice to the "try this instead." What I would say is, "what exactly do you have? Post your steps instead of "I tried and it didn't work." Several times that made users was not correct. Not always, but often enough.

    For example, if you had your filter in your analysis already created and you go your column in your report and added the TRIM function, nothing would change. If you did that, it would explain. (I do not say that you have done this, suffice it to say that this could be a possibility.) What you have to do is click on the box next to the filter, select 'Formula in the column' and add the TRIM function, OR, add the TRIM function in your column in the report, remove the old filter, then add the filter on the column reviewed. Spaces are truncated in guests so if you have in your data, you can "prune" in your report... the right way.

  • Function to remove a tab

    Hello

    I have the following comparison in a select statement:

    where username = ' COMPUTERV1$ '.

    I does not return me anything.

    If I change to the select statement, it works:

    where username like ' % COMPUTERV1$ ".

    I see the length of the field account_name I 13, this means that there are two bullies but, if I use the TRIM function I don't get to remove the two white. I guess I have a tab.
    My question is, how do I remove a tab from a string?

    Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards.
