Trouble opening my emails on Outlook

What seems to be the problem that, it's over the two days for some reason, I can't open any email on Outlook at all. The emails are all showing there in front of me on my screen, but go to open one of them and no chance whatsoever! Any ideas to help someone?

The first step in troubleshooting is to clear browser cache/cookies.

For the Internet Explorer browser: press CTRL + SHIFT + DELETE, and then click on remove
For Google Chrome: Simultaneously press CTRL + SHIFT + DELETE, and then click clear browsing data
For Firefox: Press CTRL + SHIFT + DELETE, and then click clean now
(other browsers are similar)

For a great experience, you need to update your browser to the latest version and make sure that the latest version of Microsoft Silverlightinstalled   and running for browsers that support it.

Outlook.com is optimized for the following browsers: Windows Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10; Google Chrome 17 and higher; Firefox 10 and higher; and 5.2 on Mac Safari.
Outlook.com is good on the following browsers, but some features may not display properly: Internet Explorer 7, Google Chrome 5, Firefox 9 and 5 and Safari 5.1 on Windows or Safari on Windows and Mac 5 and 16.
Outlook.com is not supported on the following browsers: Internet Explorer 6 and higher, Google Chrome 4 and higher, Firefox 4 and higher, Safari 4.x and more...

  • If Firefox is open, and then, I opened my email MS Outlook 2000 client, if there is an email containing an html link, if I click on this link, it does nothing, b

If Firefox is open, and I then open my MS Outlook 2000 e-mail client, if there is an email with a link inside html, if I click on this link, it doesn't do anything, but if I close Firefox and then click on this email link Firefox opens.

I find that if I attempt to open another e-mail link, he wouldn't do anything until I closed Firefox again in the end.

    wilsonphurwo,

Highlighting the link never worked, it was the first thing I tried, I actually found the answer myself after I had posted here.

Fortunately when this issue has happened before I had copied the solution in Notepad, and it is this I copy here for someone else who may come across this problem.

Furthermore, the links are hypertext on my MS Outlook 2000 e-mail client, so when you try to copy it only copied the text.

Anyway, here's the solution to my original problem.

    1. start the desktop or Windows Explorer.
    2. choose that menu 'Tools'-> 'folders Options.
    3. click on the tab "File Types".
4 scroll to find "URL: HyperText Transfer Protocol" (under the File Types column) and make sure that it is highlighted.
    5. click on the button "Advanced".
    6. in the box "Actions" to ensure that this 'open' is highlighted (click it if necessary)
    7. click on the button 'change '.
    8. uncheck the 'Use DDE', click on the Browse button and navigate to Firefox.exe on your system and click OK. [Updated for clarification, sorry about the previous omission.] If you receive a "file not found" message, find Firefox.exe and click OK.
    9. the path to Firefox.exe should now appear in the "Application used to perform action" box
10 go in the "Application used to perform action" box and add "-url '%1' ' at the end, without the single quotes, whereas it displays for example (on my computer at least)" C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe "- url '%1' - with quotes!"
    10. click on OK again.
    11. repeat the operation with the file type "URL: HyperText Transfer Protocol with privacy".

  • Address book disappeared and can not open/send email from Outlook Express 6

KB911567 and KB917288 describe the problem exactly, however, problem with the display resolution.

I can't find 911567 security update uninstall.  There is just no Spuninst.exe not associated with this update and it does not appear in Add / Remove programs.

  • How to open emails from Outlook Express on Windows 7?

Burning of emails on CD using my old Windows XP computer. Outlook Express. These had. EML file extension. Now using "Windows Live mail" for email. I can open any email received with. EML extension, but can't open the emails on the disk. EML extension.

    Completely stumped!

    Hi Ron Palmer,

First I have to say that this has nothing to do with Toshiba, it s related to Microsoft. In addition, I recommend an IMAP e-mail account, where e-mails will be stored on the server too.

In any case, a friend of me has had the same problem and it could solve it:

    1. go to my computer > click on the C: drive > programs x 86 > Windows live > Mail
    In this folder, open wlmail.exe.
After this move should open your emails with the .eml attachment.

    Good luck!

  • I can't open my emails who have downloaded on my Outlook Express.

I'm on Windows XP with Outlook Express 6.  My OE is opening very slow and sometimes required that a couple restarts to start.  After he finally downloading my Email and I click on it read the system continues to operate, but the e-mail never opens. It does not allow me to switch to or opening another Email so that in this mode and OE will not even stop with Control, Alt, DELETE.  Often the only way out of EO is to completely shut down the computer by pressing the button for a few seconds.

    Begin compacting your folders.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

    Compress your OE folders:
    http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm#compact

Once you have done this, restart and see if it improves a little. If it does, and you can read and move messages follow these steps.

    General precautions for Outlook Express:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

Information on the maximum size of the .dbx files that are used by Outlook Express:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/?kbid=903095

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the processors and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:
    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

    And backup often.

  • Why when I open my email on another computer for example, in Outlook Express or the site of Telstra all my e-mail messages get deleted from the full mail?

When I opened my email on another computer for example, in Outlook Express or on the Telstra site do all my emails in my inbox deleted completely from complete Mail. This happens with two email addresses different set up on two different computers. I wish that my e-mail messages to stay in complete Mail unless it is deleted from there. Thank you

Your question is not clear. Is this something that happens, or something you're worried might happen?

Whatever it is, the answer depends on what you do and how your email clients are set up.

If you use POP in Outlook Express (really? "It's a very old program!) so he can delete messages from the server. You should be able to leave messages on the server, or you can switch using IMAP.

Just looking for messages in your Web browser will not erase all messages, but if you delete a message there, again whether or not it is also deleted on any of your computers depends on whether these computers using POP or IMAP.

I am aware that I have you confused probably further.

My preference, as I want to be able to work with my email on multiple devices different, is that you use IMAP only, but others can, for various reasons, choose to use pop. There is no good or evil, what suits you best, but in both cases, we must understand a little the operation of the service.

  • Cannot open emails from Outlook Express on Windows 7

Original title: Outlook express on exploere8

I just bought a new computer which has windows 7 and explorer 8 is installed, my old computor was an outlook express program that has lots of emails stored in it. I don't seem to be able to open these emails outlook express doesn't automatically come with explorer8?

Outlook Express is an e-mail Client program.  Internet Explorer is a web browser.  They are completely different animals.

Windows 7 computers lack any e-mail client program (unless the manufacturer of the computer or the seller has installed a). Therefore, you will need to download and install your own choice email client.

Microsoft to promote Windows Live Mail, the free successor to Outlook Express.  You can download the program ofhttp://download.live.com.   WLMail belongs to the series of programs, Windows Live, which includes Windows Live Messenger, etc.. However, you just install the items you need.

At present, there are two versions of WLMail available for download.  The latest stable version of the suite of programs live was "Wave 3"(version number 14.0.8117.0416).  However, you also have the option to install the version 'Wave 4' of the various programs.  I have no experience of the Wave 4 programs (which are beta (or test) releases), so cannot advise.

Once you have installed WLMail, you will need to copy the messages from your old computer to Win XP files in a directory on your new Windows 7 computer.  Then, you will be able to open WLMail and click on file / import - import messages and other data.  With the version of Wave 3, the menu bar (which provides the file / edit / view / go / tools / Actions & help commands) is hidden by default.  To display the menu bar on an ad hoc basis, press Ctrl. To display the menu bar, click Alt and M together. Then, press M (or select "Show menu bar").

You will find further instructions to the http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/importing-your-e-mail-contacts-and-calendar-into-windows-live-mail. However, a Google search led me to www.pcdon.com/080113OutlookExpress-WindowsLiveMail.html, which you can find easier to understand.

  • How to import Windows Mail emails in Outlook 2007 on Windows 7 when getting my ERREURLa message: "file not could not be opened.

    Hello

I have used Vista before I put now to Windows 7. On Vista, I used Windows Mail as my email client. Now on Windows 7, I would use Outlook 2007 and import my old emails.

Before I upgraded to Windows 7, Vista help - I exported all my emails from Windows Mail on my external hard drive, where I now .eml files and in each subfolder of emails, I have a winmail.fol file.

After I installed Windows 7 and Office 2007 now, I tried simply to import the files exported from my external hard drive by: "file-> import-> import Internet mail and addresses-> choose the folder to the top folder with the files of e-mail-> OK" However, I always get the error message: "the mail folder not could be opened. If another application is using this file, please close it and try again. "I don't understand what is wrong and what needs to be changed that it works.

    I tried the things:
    * On Windows 7 now: I activated Windows Mail and imported the exported files, which worked well. Therefore, I am currently using Windows Mail as my standard client on Windows 7. Now on Windows 7, I exported my emails again to Windows Mail and tried later import new files exported into Outlook 2007, as described above. I get the same message error ("could not mail file be open...").

    * On Windows 7: I downloaded and installed Windows LIVE Mail. Imported from my original (exported under Vista) of e-mails from my HDD external and exported them once again, in the hope that Outlook 2007 may be more willing to import files exported Windows LIVE Mail. It didn't work either.

    * On Windows 7: I opened the folder with the emails on my external hard drive and Outlook 2007 and dragged the .eml file in Outlook 2007. It worked, in a sense, that I got the emails and the content of these emails in Outlook 2007. This method is not, is to import the email title and time when he received etc. This method is therefore unnecessary.

    * On Windows 7: I've always been able to import my contacts in Outlook 2007.

I really hope someone can help me and describe what I do to import my emails.

    I appreciate all help.

    See you soon
