  Problem solved.  I installed the Creative Cloud cleaning tool, re-installed the CC, and illustrator is being downloaded.  Thanks for your time/help.

  First pro and After effects are compatible with the 64-bit operating system. If you have a 32-bit operating system it does not display these two applications in the list.
