  I worked on a project where I mix a variety of objects and animations.  I do animations animate on board.  The problem I have is that when the user clicks the button pause on the Captivate playback controls, the oam file do not pause.  I found descriptions of how I can make an animation to play/pause the Captivate timeline button on board, but I can't find anything on the use of the Captivate pause button to control the Edge file animate.  Discussions only that I managed to find on that seem to be the answer.  Someone had a bit of luck with this question?

  OK, it's a bit hacky, but it works quite to control the main timeline object in a file of edge of Cape Town, where the Edge file has been imported to Cap 9 as a Web (oam) object. I went seeking answers same like you and came from vacuum, then start to tinker myself and came across the following method.

  Let's use window.postMessage to send a string between Cape document window and document edge iframe window then react accordingly. You can learn more about postMessage accepted battery answer here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3076414/ways-to-circumvent-the-same-origin-policy

  In your dashboard file click the support of Actions for the stage object in the timeline and select the compositionReady event. Paste this code into the text window:

  Save the file and publish it as an oam, then import the OLS in a slide of Cap, as you normally would. Now, to put in place things of the CAP. Here is a visual aid for the rest of the explanation...

  

  In the PAC file select the control that you use to start playing the chronology of the edge (in the example above the "slide4Play"), select the checkbox 'Use as button' in the properties on the right, select the "Actions" tab, then to the drop-down list for 'Success' choose "Execute advanced Actions." Name your action something (for example, "playEdgeSlide4"), then click the 'Add' in the grey bar to add a new action in the queue.   Cap incorporates the Edge file in an iframe on the page that has its own document window. In order to communicate between base ceiling windows and the iframe, we use the postMessage call. So when you hit your button Pause/Play in Cape Town, he publishes an event to the function that gets recorded in the iframe on board. And in the event.data is the string we send above the Cap base window in the function postMessage ('play' or 'pause'). We use a simple switch to react to the data string, stop or have fun with the main symbol of the scene at the edge (sym.play(1000) (), sym.stop ()).

  Unlike normal questionnaires 'submit' buttons, the Captivate 9 Drag & Drop 'submit' button does not appear able to show the hand cursor to the passage of the mouse.

  Importing a project of Captivate 8 to 9, it sometimes works, sometimes doesn't work, so I can't find a way to make it work on naked new projects created with Captivate 9.

  The Drag & Drop option "Use hand cursor" is clearly displayed, although affecting only the sources and targets but not the button 'send '.

  Captivate 9 runs on Windows 7.

  I'm sorry, but the button submit in D & D seems to have the ability to display the hand cursor. It uses the same style buttons embedded on the Quiz slides, but the hand cursor doesn't do not part of the style. I've often done drag the button to send off the stage and just set hotkey (as input).  I also checked in Captivate 8 but he has never had the option to display a hand cursor to the button send D & d, so I'm surprised when you write "when you import a project of Captivate 8 to 9, it works sometimes"

  There is an option in the skin editor > TOC settings, but I think you will find this only applies to research on the names found in the table of contents itself, not the entire project.

  The solution, with that I went had to copy my content from my ppt to the content of the Captivate theme Builder, and then I had to put my audio from my first project that had the TPP t worked.

  I don't be imported from ppt Captivate more.

• Buttons with multiple actions do not work in v32.1

  We had buttons in our previously published folios that bring a multi-state object to state first and second MSO to another State that depends on which button is pressed. It works in app v32.0 and down, but it no longer works after trying to update our v32.1 app.

  I am creating a project in Captivate 5, in which case there are different test after each chapter.

  For example, there are 6 chapters and after each chapter, I want a short (5 or 6 questions) control of knowledge. If this completes successfully then the learner can continue to Chapter 2 and so on.

  Saw that one chapter that works fine, but when I put a second series of questions after the second chapter I lose the ability to redirect the learner if they fail the verification of knowledge.

  I searched through the forums without success and I was wondering if anyone had any experience to do?

  I tried to give to each question (6 for 6 chapters) hen an ID separated, but quiz preferences allows only this to be changed globally within the project, making the quiz a single entity.

  The help document has a piece very briefly about this where he talks about master of trivia and quiz sub but gives all the details on how this is possible.

  There is really not much to the use of Multi-SCORM Packager.  If you have created your individual modules for your courses SCORM files zip, then all you have to do is shoot them in the links Manager, make sure they are in the right order and create a package with an appropriate name, usually the name of your course.  Then, you can download this package into your LMS in Multi-SCO zip file.  The LMS should be able to read the imsmanifest.xml file that creates Packager and see all the components.  The LMS SCORM player usually lists the modules as hyperlinks that the user clicks to launch each of them.

  There is some basic information on the use of SCORM Packager in the Adobe Captivate help files.

  With regard to the objective ID and ID of Interaction... I just has a unique Interaction ID to ensure that each course module is rising inside Captivate with its own unique objective ID (usually a short form of the name of module) and each quiz question or an interactive component scored in the lesson.  Again, it is easy to do with just a short form of the name of module as a prefix.   Captivate adds a unique number after this prefix.

  In most cases, what if all you're after is pass/fail scoring, the objective ID and Interaction ID doesn't really matter too much. However, if your LMS allows you to dig into the interactive elements to see what the user replied, and then having significant IDs is a great help to know which module and what you look at.

• A shortcut of the button "play in action"?

  Sorry if this question has been answered before, but I've searched high and low and found nothing on this subject. Maybe I'm not asking the right question?

  OK, so what I want to do is find the keyboard shortcut for 'click' of the 'Play' button in the actions palette or assign a shortcut to this feature, if one does not already exist. Is this possible?

  I could save a lot of time in my workflow, if so. I know about the use of the actions of 'batch' in the menu, but my criteria change quite often, and I find that I can rarely use this method because of the variables in my raw materials.

  I don't want to assign a shortcut KB to a specific action, just for the 'play' button, so that all the measures I've selected in the palette will happen without me having to click on it manually.

  You cannot add your own keyboard shortcut? On the Edit menu, select keyboard shortcuts. Then select the Palette menu. Then select Actions. Click on the playlist and add your shortcut.

  Sergio,

  As you guessed, buttons are currently not well supported with dynamic actions, something we hope to treat in the future. However, it is possible to work around this problem. First of all, I assume that you use the "Template" based keys: and not "HTML". The "HTML" buttons automatically generate an ID set to the value of the button name, so if you tried to use "DOM object" with the value of button name, then this should have worked. The "HTML Code" buttons are certainly easier to control with dynamic actions, however if you're set on using the buttons "Template" based, it is a bit more complicated, but still possible.

  The fundamental problem is that "Template" based button generate an ID has the default value, and the simplest for dynamic steps control the individual buttons (and any element) is by referencing by ID. In addition, there is no substitution string available in the template of the button to the name of the button (only LINK, LABEL, BUTTON_ATTRIBUTES, and BUTTON_ID), so you can't do this on the side of the model. (I know there is a BUTTON_ID, but it is the internal ID, and it is a different set of challenges, I don't think it's better to continue to do this). If we want to give the button ID, the name of the button. To do this:
  

  • Make sure that the substitution string #BUTTON_ATTRIBUTES # is included in your button template, something like:

  Sorry it's a bit lengthy. As explained, based HTML buttons are certainly easier currently, you don't have to worry about all that extra work to get the generated ID, it's right there already. And in a later version of the SUMMIT, we want to allow just completely declarative selection of dynamic action buttons that work, without having to make these types of additional solutions.

  It's always a very heavy workflow, I'm sorry. I already blogged about this over 4 years ago and although some features of the effects have been improved, not this one.

  This is the workflow:

  1. Create the desired effect as an effect based on the hour, where you can change the path.
  2. Register as a custom effect, the location is not important, you have to remember.
  3. Remove effect
  4. Apply the effect customized to the object again, you will need to navigate to the location where it is stored.
  5. Remove the effect.
  6. Now that the effect will be shown in the "Custom" from the drop-down list category, when you choose the command effect apply in the dialog of AA.

  Even at the CP9, where effects have been integrated in the timeline panel and live preview is possible, where you can change the duration and start time in the AA, this workflow for paths is always the same when the effects for the first time. At least, it's possible.

  Oops, I just see that this is a sensitive project. I didn't check what is happening in the views of lower breakpoint.

• Multiple actions on one button sensitive project advanced

  I have a question about the use of the advanced actions (or really any action) on a sensitive project.

  I'm doing a course that includes a section of menu which should be designed differently for mobile display (mainly of the buttons in a different format to accommodate the size of the screen). I use stocks advanced for hide/show buttons in the menu I use transparent buttons and some of them have / all to be hidden so I don't get duplication of text when they are opened or closed (so cannot use the States I do not).

  My question is, is it possible that I can change the tip action to be used on the buttons in the sections is mobile, so they perform a slightly different action on a mobile device than would the same key on a desktop computer; essentially fires a different action? I had a try of it because of a size, shape etc perspective for buttons/forms and these, these are inherited from the top downwards, except change. However for stocks, that appears not to be the case, if I change the view mobile action, it also change the actions in a vision higher, which does not work.

  I wonder if anyone has encountered something similar and knows how to do or has a work around?

  Interesting question. My clients almost never ask a sensitive project, which means that I can't help you with real-life experiences here. Just a few ideas of "intuition". I don't think you can have different actions triggered by the same event in different points of view breakpoint. There is no variable (yet) available system that detects the breakpoint used view (hoping that this will be the case in future versions). There may be a (expert JS could help), but it is not accessible.

  Solution: I did not test this, but what happens if you use other events if you want another advanced action? This means that you can use the events of the slide. But you can move an interactive object out of sight and replace it with another interactive object: This means you have another successful event which can be used for a different action. I will definitely try this out, if I can find some time

• Captivate 4 - project Actions / Variables

  Someone at - he had problems when using Variables of Action/4 CP, I'm trying to display the title of the course by the following

  But it keeps cutting off parts of the title. If the title of my project is say HSE training of plant-based, what I get is HSE Core Pla Stange is I have another project I used the same thing and it dose do not do this and shows all this! So I'm a little at a loss to know why.

  Dear team of Captivate and other users,

  during the design of reactive in CP8 (or 8.0.1.242) the standard behavior is that the changes on the desktop version are heritaged / copied to the Tablet and mobile display. So, the office-display and desktop options are the parent, compressed is the child and phone is the granddaughter.

  It's pretty convenient, but often we need to approach the development of reverse content: design 'mobile first' and the settings made here must be made for the largest screen of the Tablet and desktop sizes. This feature is implemented or planned somehow?
