3 TB Canvio suspended at the start of Windows 7

Can someone please help.

I recently bought an external HARD drive 3 TB canvio and when its connected and I start my computer it hangs on the blue screen, until I have unplug the unit.

I can't even access the boot sequence or anything to remedy it.
I think it's a possible driver problem but can't find anywhere is not try and sell me some kind of software or trick that I've needed before solving the problem.

I fell into that trap, too many times and you want just a driver that will solve my problem.
I am running windows 7 64-bit and for the moment, spin the Ext HDD via a USB 2.

I don't want to get a USB 3 but that will put the socket on the back of the computer and is difficult to get everytime I want to start and then remove the HARD disk in order to start and then replace it when im up and runnning.

Can someone give me some advice or at least some constructive advice on how to solve this problem.
I have tried for a month now and am really frustrated with Toshiba products.

If I understand your question, the laptop does not start when the external HARD drive is connected.
Right?

To be honest, to me that sounds not like external HARD disk problem.
I guess that you are still able to use this HARD drive if the notebook starts the system. Right?

Maybe you should change the boot order in the BIOS (without external device connected)
If that's not enough I recommend you to check this problem with the support of the manufacturer of your computer.

Could be a BIOS problem

igfxext module has stopped working message is displayed at the start of Windows 7.  What is this and how can I fix?

    Hi Bob Bala.

Thanks for asking this question to Microsoft Community!

As I understand it you receive a startup message all to connect to the computer.

He would be grateful if you can answer these questions to help you further.

    1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
    2. What is the brand and model of your computer?

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

You can try to check if the problem occurs in safe mode and check if it helps.

    Method 2:

If the problem does not exist in Mode without failure, then try to put your computer in a clean boot state.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

Thanks for posting the results and let us know if you need help to solve the problem and we will be happy to help you.

I fell on a blocking issue with my MacBook and decided to reload the OS x leopard DVD. After the start, I had a few screens, and then the one who said "a few more Questions". Could be many things, we should start with this...

    «Try disk utility»

1 insert the Mac OS X installation disc, and then restart the computer by pressing the C.

2 when your computer has finished booting from the disc, choose disk utility from the menu of the installer at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)

    * Important: Do not click on continue in the first screen of the installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc to access disc utilitaire.*

    3. click the first aid tab.

    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.

  • Journ.e Touch suspended on the start screen

My Journ.e Touch just doesn't start. She is new and fully charged (about a month, rarely used). When I turn on the Tablet, it does not start the operating system, it can stay on the start screen for hours, or until the battery is flat. I can't stop, and even make the reset does not solve the problem. It worked fine before, also, today I managed to once, but now - nothing...
    What can I do?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hello thomas.b,

You should do a firmware update to version E1.1.00.

After that, the problem should be solved.

How to, and a link where you can download the update here:

  • Disable a program to the start menu Windows 8

I have a desktop HP Pavilion last month. I have a search engine, searchconduit.com, invading my OS. I ran Windows Defender Quick Scan and full Scan, do not show any threat. I want to check the start menu to see if it's there and turn it off. I went to tools and tried to remove it, but the "Delete" button is not active.

If she is not there, what everyone would say that I do to get rid of this problem?

    Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

    Hello

There is a good guide on this withdrawal on the following link.  I would just say using the method 1 related to ccleaner and MBAM - also please note that you must use the versions free of these 2 applications.

  • Icons are white or invisible at the start of windows 7.

We have just upgraded a laptop Sony Vaio running Vista 32-bit Windows 7 Home Premium. There were not problems by installing the software and Windows loads fine but once it does all the icons on the desktop and in the menu start are either a box white or completely gone. The icon shortcuts seem to work when you double-click. The same problem occurs in windows Explorer. For example, in the pictures folder, none of the thumbnails are viewable. It's the same thing with the white boxes. We have updated the drivers and it doesn't seem to help. I also reset the icon cache and who still doesn't seem to help. The interesting thing is that if I start the computer in safe mode icons ARE visible. Any ideas on what can be causing this and what can we do about it? Let me know if more information on the specifications of the computer is required and I can post it. Thanks in advance.

Turn off the PC, remove the AC power cord, wait 5 minutes and remove the (2) 256 MB sticks and the sticks of 2GB (2), it should then leave you with only one pole and a total of 2 GB of memory installed.

Remove all PCI slots (e.g. SoundBlaster) cards. Remove the network adapters and VPN.

Plug the power cord back, start the computer, and try again.

  • Connection to the wireless network trouble at the start of Windows 7

I have configured my computer will automatically connect to my home network, but at the start, it aims rather to connect to 'SoftAP-C0', a network with zero signal strength that probably belongs to one of my neighbors. It is impossible to connect and displays "waiting for users ' instead of 'connected' or 'disconnected '. I then have to disconnect this network manually connect to my network home and enter the security key. Because my computer never gets to actually connect to the network SoftAP, I can't access the configuration window to disable the automatic connection (if it is still what makes my computer trying to connect to it in the first place.) Is there another way to access its configuration (otherwise than through the network and sharing Center)?

    Hello

You can see a list of available wireless networks and then connect to one of those networks, no matter where you are. The wireless networks appear only if your computer has a wireless network adapter and driver installed and the adapter is turned on.

If you want Windows to ask permission before attempting to connect to a wireless access point, you can Turn off wireless on the laptop.

You can have a switch on the laptop turns off the same. Turning off Wireless is specific to the model of the laptop.

You can follow the links below to set up your preferred networks.

  • Cannot, in the start menu, Windows XP Home on my Satellite P200D edition installation

I have Satellite P200D-12f and I got from Vista Home Premium with laptop.
When I try to install Windows XP on another partition empty, and when I try to boot the CD with Windows Xp, laptop turns off after 10 seconds.

I tried several times, but the same thing happens every time.
    Why is this happening?

I may be a protection for which I can't install anything except Vista?

Your problem is that you don't have the drivers for the SATA controller available when you move windows XP vanilla Plains. Without the SATA drivers, windows xp will not be able to see the partition that you created on the SATA drive.

Good luck, but I suggest that allow you to manage such things as you may turn your laptop a very expensive pouf your place of purchase.

  • During the starting process windows appears, then all is empty

Sometimes when I turn on my laptop it shows the windows screen and then it turns off. also, the hard drive light stops flickering.

I have to restart. This happens 2 or 3 times and then the laptop will start normally. No disc error or scan message.

In addition, even after I've logged in the screen turns off and the system stops working altogether. I have to manually switch and turn it back on. Yet once, no disk or scan error message does. I ran Toshiba diagnostics and everything seems to be working well according to it.

    Hi dude

First of all, it would be very nice to know what model of laptop you have. This info is much appreciated.

My first thought was a hardware malfunction. Maybe something wrong with the HARD drive. But in my opinion, you should first check if the same would happen after the healing of the BONE.
Try to recover the laptop with the delivered Toshiba Recovery CD and check the functionality of the laptop after this procedure.

    See you later ;)
