Tungsten E2 HotSync with Win7 not

Hello

This topic, I spent days the web and this forum to research and tries in vain to synchronization.

My system:

HP Elite HPE-250f, Win7

Kensington Bluetooth dongle K33348B

Installed Palm Desktop Win62 and Aceeca 64-bit driver

Aceeca handheld device appears in Device Manager when the button is clicked on USB cable

set connection BLUETOOTH FOR PC

Palm Desktop Win62 offers no connection in the menu bluetooth USB is the only option, but do not work. When you use hotsync error portable device is: hotwync due to the serial port cannot be used by another application.

Any help would be appreciated.

Best regards

Phil

Hello and welcome to the HP support community!

Make sure Palm Desktop or your E2 are both set to HotSync via the docking USB cable.   When I open Palm Desktop on my laptop and click the HotSync icon, then connections, I see these options:

USB

Network (TCP/IP)

Serial

If you don't see these, then I suggest that you do a clean uninstall/reinstall of Palm Desktop.

USB for Palm Desktop 6.2.2 version works fine on my x 2 HP spectrum loan.

These instructions are for Vista, but should work for Win7.

You first need to you a copy of your data to have just in case something happens. You can find your data files by clicking on start-> Documents-> Palm OS Desktop. Highlight your Palm Desktop user name and right click and copy. Then go to the desktop of your PC, click on a blank spot block and select.

If this is the first time, you install Palm desktop and encounter a problem, go to the previous step. If you are not concerned about your data at this stage, go to the next step.

Now, you want to uninstall Palm Desktop and remove anything that has to do with Palm Desktop on your computer. Go to the following locations on the PC and delete the folders listed below. [C:\Program Files\Palm or C:\Users\[Vista Palm connection name] \appdata\local\virtualstore\Program Files\Palm or PalmOne C:\Users\[Vista Login Name] \appdata * note you may need to show hidden folders to join appdata. To do than to go into your control panel and open folder options. Go to tab and uncheck hide hidden files.

When you use Palm desktop 6.2, look in my documents or documents and delete the folder Office of PalmOS. It is the location of the PD 6.2 data files.

Once this is done, you will need to remove certain keys in the registry of your PC operating system.

Word of warning, go here and removing the wrong thing can cause your PC to start, crashing and deletion of programs and data. If you feel that you are not sure of yourself, see if you have a friend who can help you or a PC technician that you can pay to help you. This procedure will show them everything they need to remove. To make sure that we have a good copy of the current registry, we make a backup of the registry.

Go to start on your PC in the search box type "regedit.exe" without the quotes.

Point peak COMPUTER, go to file-> Export. Should appear with a save as box. Current place of residence is fine, must be within My Documents, or save to a location that you will remember. In the name of the file in low type "backup [todaysdate]" i.e. backup07072008. Then, the most difficult part.

The best way to ensure that your work with the right key, select the key that is installation quick palm and press delete on your keyboard. You will be asked, you of course. Say Yes. Do the same for all the keys below.

If you make a mistake, stop what you are doing. And call a PC technician. BUT do not turn off your computer.

The reg keys are as follows (Note: some of the theses reg keys will not be here, but if they remove them)

* HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Palm Quick Install * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\PalmOne File Transfer * Robotics\Pilot Desktop HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm, Inc. * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmDesktopAutorun * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\palmOne * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmSource * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\PalmSource or anything else that says palm

Then, restart your computer.

Then, reinstall your Palm desktop from the CD (or a download) and do a hotsync. If request you a user name, enter the name that is on your device in the upper right of the screen to hotsync.

  • G42-415DX: difficulties with Win7 not recognizing correctly the two monitors

Prior to my recent relocation, I used a 2nd monitor with my laptop, where my 32 '' has the main screen, but the screen of the 14 "laptop would show other programs instituted for example PDF file. It was easy to make this configuration and I loved this multitasking.

After a recent relocation and update the map AMD Win7 I appreciate the high resolution display on the screen of the laptop, but I am not able to repeat the simplicity with which I've done it before.

The 2nd monitor is connected through a HDMI cable. Whether with the extend in double bill or, if I use the laptop as the main screen, office shows the program and the taskbar icons, but when I change the main view for the 2nd monitor, disappears from the task bar and the icons of the programs even beyond the screen. When the screen resolution is clcked on the desktop, both monitors display side by side, but 1 monitor is format 6 x 9 32 "with the correct name and resolution, then it should be 14" 4 x 3 laptop. 'Detect' & 'Confirm' to be 1 & 2 also shows, but the sizes are the opposite.

I rebooted without the 2nd monitor attached and as expected, it would have it, it displays the screen of the laptop in its format 4 x 3. At the level of the office, now fix the 2nd 32 "6 x 9 (widescreen), makes the 'screen resolution' show that they are returned in size, but the correct resolution.

All this seems to have been to update the map of the ATI AMD M880G

I'd like the ability to use a 2nd monitor

Any help. I would be very happy

As suggested, I've updated graphics drivers with the latest on the HP website. My fear, after the previous update disheveled my universal Bus controllers, was unfounded.

Whalla, everything goes well and as shown on one of your previous answers, I have managed to place a monitor (or side) above the other and Institute (under Extended display), the use of two monitors. It's exactly what I wanted.

    Thank you for your insurance.

  • Palm Tungsten E2 hotsync with windows 8

I have a palm Tungsten E2 I can't warm to sync using Windows 8. I have it installed, which, according to me, is the latest driver for Palm and the installed program, but it is still impossible hot sync. There is no Bluetooth capabilities either.

Thank you for your help.  I just downloaded the driver.  What should I do to install?

Yes my E2 HotSynced fine on my old computer, no problem.

The error message, it's that there is no link.

I went to ensure that the program was looking for synchronization via USB because it's what I use, so this isn't the issue.

  • not compatible with Win7 NVIDIA nTune.

I don't know where to post this so here goes. I have a NVIDIA GeForce 9700 M GTS and I downloaded the latest version of NVIDIA nTune. I have contected NVIDIA and they said some of its features are not compatible with Win7, they are only compatible with Vista and XP. I was hoping that Microsoft might relase in a future update compatibility updates to make it fully compatible because I need to be able to turn the internal fan to the card, which is disabled by default.

It is the responsibility of NVidia to release updates for their own hardware and software. I think that Microsoft allows only to distribute these updates through Windows Update. So until NVidia decided to make compatible, or until someone finds a work around, you have to wait to get it working properly.

  • Fable the Lost Chapters for XP is not compatible with Win7 - is there a way to fix it?

I just bought the XP game edition and expects a lot of fun on my new 17 in. Inspiron R with all the trimmings, only to be told that the FtLC for XP is not compatible with Win7.

The problem is that the graphics are like seeing double, literally two principals semi-molten you close them; they never completely merge, and most things, except the bottom, are very blurry.  I already have bad eyesight; I want a clean game.

I have tried to adjust the game to play in the uncluttered window, but it remains only purified until the credits have finished the race.  Then, the game returns to the full screen, wide and I think it's the wide screen that is the cause of the problem; the credits are great!

At Ms. really bring out a game duded up before Fable 4 only to have it be unplayable on pc with the newest Windows operating system?  Or is it possible to work things so the game is playable in fact and you can use a bow without guessing where is the target?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

By chance, I reinstalled the game (that I hadn't played for a long time) on Windows 7 x 64 a few weeks ago. Guess what? It works without too much fiddling.

Maybe it's that you will get a screen that says "incompatibilities with this version of Windows" every time you start (just click it away), and most likely, you will encounter an inactive 'fable.exe' process that must be completed before starting the game a second time (happens only once per Windows session). The second start focus also slowed down as the first, but after a while, the game will go up.

Things to do during the installation: run 'setup' as an administrator (do not use the 'autorun' option) with the following compatibility setttings 'XP SP3', 'disable visual themes', "Disable desktop layout" (this avoids some flickering). Start the game with the same settings. If you are given a choice of setting up your video card (the game is not identify him because it uses a completely outdated XML list of video cards caves), select "primary, no LNP. Resolution of 1024 x 768 x 32 is fine.

Note that the game dimensionnera full screen, even if your screen size is larger than 1024 x 768, but it will keep the old 4:3 picture format, you will have black borders on both sides of the screen.

    Hello

I can use internet equally as good on my host and guest WIN7 using a bridge connection.

    I use a bridge connection.

My main goal with win7 as a virtual machine is to use the same application online with a different IP address... This is where it falls apart. When I do 'whatsmyip"on the virtual machine and the host. It appears to be the same.

ipconfig in CMD shows 192.168.1.x1 on the host and 192.168.1.x2 on the comments. but make an ip check online shows that

    96.365.1xx.x on two of them.

I only got an E-card... but maybe there's a way to fool the router by giving me two single dynamic IP address...

    Thank you for your time!

Attached is a mental map of the way I'd like it works. (The two runnig Windows 7)

On the IP addresses should not be the same as those listed below

    layout.png

The problem here is not in VMware Workstation or your host, its your NAT:ed internet connection.

Your internet provider very probably only you give an IP to get out, if you want more you have to communicate with them.

Hello I installed Acrobat 8 Standard to PC brand new with Win7. It does not print to PDF even if Acrobat itself works...

I tried to download the updates from http://www.Adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1 & Platform = Windows for version 8.x, but it cannot be installed.

    Please advice what to do.

I remember well, it is if you can get Acrobat 8.1 installed there is a small chance that it will work in 64-bit systems. Otherwise no. luck to all. In all cases, it is not supported and I recommend the upgrade to Acrobat XI.

Is there a certain combination of settings that must be disabled in the bios to get the win7 Installer right or I'm screwed?

    Thanks for any help

    What an adventure!

As you discovered, you must completely format the drive as one or the other (GPT or MBR).  You cannot format a GPT partition and the other in the MBR.

I wonder if you had back and disabled the legacy mode, if W7 would let you install on the GPT - or partition if the disabling legacy mode would also have permitted secure boot.

In any case, it's water under the bridge.

After reading the endless forums on this topic and try LPR printing as proposed (without success), I finally found a simple solution to get the WPSM54G print server work on Windows 7 (64 bit in my case version). Simply download the latest driver for the Lnksys site.  Once you have unzipped the download, right-click on Wizard.exe, select Properties, click the result, then check the compatibility mode box and select Windows Vista (Service Pack 2).  When you run the Configuration Wizard and click on Computer Configuration, instead of the boring message "OS not supported", the driver installation ends normally and you can start printing.
