Can I turn off "snap on" default for straight-edge tool?

On the contrary, to draw 3.0, you can disable snapping for the shape of the straight line.

01 press the icon in the top right of the toolbar.

02 tap the gear icon at the top left menu kangaroo that appears.

There you should see a setting "Serpentine" that you can enable or disable and turn off. You can also set the alignment of the angles 30, 45 or 90 degrees.

  • How can I turn off snapping to a kind of invisible grid in InDesign?

During the few improvements something InDesign has baffled me. When I move or scale of the objects it is flapping in a kind of invisible grid. This happens when I move or something on the scale with my mouse, but not when I move something with the up and down keys management (I put the keyboard increments to a very low setting and it works). I tried to fix it by playing with the settings of the guides and grids under the 'View' menu, change the preferences units and increments, guides and cards, all I can think about. Nothing turns this slam and it is impossible to percision alignment during the measurement because I can't not to scale with the keys and arrow keys, only mice and other input devices. I've been using InDesign for a long time so I'm a relatively advaced user but I have not been able to understand this one.

Sorry, I totally missed this part of your answer.

Yes, if you selected pixel as your unit of measure, objects will snap to the pixel grid. It is quite possible to have objects to be placed outside this grid, but when they move they will jump to the grid.

How did you change the units of measure of the document? If you're not you should try (with leaders on) right clicking the box in the upper left corner, where the rules come together and selecting a different unit of measure. I usually work in picas.

  • Turn Off snap to grid of pixels?

    David,

You should be able to put it as an option for new documents of the relevant type (s) (I always am with 10 so this is hearsay).

  • Disable snap to the artboard in Illustrator

Is it possible to turn off snapping to the edges of the artboard?

As soon as I move my vectors near the edge of the target, they snap.

I unchecked all snap options (and line up on the grid of pixels).

  • No grid snap to horizontal and vertical lines when moving objects or work plans

    Hi all

On illustrator CS5 and later it was a feature... I'm not sure of the name, but I call it smart alignment. Whenever I started to move an object or work plan it would be bright green lines vertical and horizontal to suggest snapping to the part or an element or a plan of work... and Center. It was super useful! But for some reason, I can no longer see these guides. Is it possible to recover? I tried to turn on snap to grid and point, but they are not returned. Thank you!

    Kevin,

We are talking about view > guides?

What is displayed depends on the options settings.

The Smart Guides have been there a lot longer, but initially without options of choice (less then).

  • How to make objects easily snap to grid?

    Hey,.

I implemented a 20 x 20 pixel grid and I want to try a few layouts of model easily. No matter what I try, Illustrator align everything just not on the grid. I have to zoom in really close to align each shape.

Surprisingly it does not align to guides, leaving me completely hopeless.

    What's wrong?

I nod to the pixel and all objects are set to match the pixel grid.

Hey, Andrej. In fact, you have to disable preview pixelated. Then you can turn on "snap to grid" (as opposed to 'nod to the pixel"- which is not line up on the grid at all). Then, you can zoom out and make your layouts quickly.

It took me a while to track down as I do the same thing. It's an annoying thing Slam with Illustrator. 1 many people, heheh.

    Hope that helps.

  • Snap unwanted at the edge of the artboard

I came across a problem/annoyance that I don't remember having seen it before, even if I use Illie for the donkey.

I was followed a model manually. For more precision, I got turned off guides and I also disabled Snap to Point.

I had the plan of work hidden because I didn't need to do this and there are no guides in the region where I worked.

All of a sudden one of the anchor points climbed to something and is stuck there and I could not set accurately. It was far from what I tried. Weird, I thought.

After a bit of tweaking and a cuss Word or two it turned out that the strange behavior was because my anchor point was trying to align an edge of the artboard hidden.

This behavior is normal and can it be turned off?

Of course, my solution was to move my drawing away from the edge of the artboard. I could also have changed the size of the artboard, but this seems a bit silly as I hid it anyway.

    CS3, by the way.

    There is a light solution.

    Disable all Slam, particular nod to point. Turn on the guides. Set preferences > Smart Guides< snapping="" tolerance="" to="" 0pt.="" that="" should="" eliminate="" the="" artboard="" snap.="" even="" with="" the="" snapping="" tolerance="" set="" at="" the="" default="" 4pt="" you="" can="" eliminate="" most="" of="" the="" artboard="" snapping="" with="" smart="" guides="" on="" (might="" still="" get="" a="" 1pt="" snap="" though).="" this="" works="" for="" cs5..="" not="" certain="" about="">

  • cannot align guides

In Illustrator 10, I do the guides by dragging the rule.

But I can't align opposes them.

I see no preference governing this, and under the view menu is ' hide/lock/create/release/clear' only. Nothing on the turn on or off.

I don't know I missed something: How can I do this?

My solution when I have need for such precision is selecting my object, switch to the direct Selection tool and with the Smart Guides (CMD + U) turned on, take one point (be sure that all points of the object are selected) who should 'snap' to the guide and drag it until I saw the light 'works '. It gives me the exact position relative to the guide without having to type the coordinates, etc. for the location on the page.

  • Problem updating Win 7 Media Center Guide

I am in Columbus Ohio and WOW to my cable provider. Three days earlier, the guide for Media Center lists seem to be downloading but never done in Media Center.  Did someone else who have difficulties?

    Thank you.

I could solve the problem. As it turns out, when I reinstalled Media Center trying to solve another problem, I was aware that WOW had recently gone to all digital channels.  So when reinstalling, I chose digital channels only.  It turns out that the Rating Guide is for analog channels so no information guide had been captured.  I reinstalled media library again by selecting analog as well as digital channels and the guide is back.

    Thank you!

  • Can break some intersections Guide and not others

In Illustrator CC 2015, I run the questions where I can snap to intersections Guide (90 degrees, a vertical guide and a horizontal guide) but not others. The two intersections are on a single vertical line. I have unlocked all the guides, and brought them all to the front layer (just in case where what matters) and still nothing. When I select the pen tool and hover on the intersection A, the pointer snaps to the intersection, the indicator displays "intersect". When I select the pen tool and hover on the intersection of B, the cursor follows the horizontal Guide, but as soon as I get near the intersection, it stops after the guide, as if the intersection is pushing the snap.

Is this a problem of layers? If I move the vertical line (not the Guide) at the intersection of B away, I can line up the intersection to Guide very well. All Guides are arranged for the 'front' (right-click > reorganize > bring to front). The cursor does not follow the vertical Guide at the intersection B at all for some reason any. I'm baffled that I can't get the reliable behavior in identical situations, and I can't find a way to fix and more to remove the vertical line, which should play second fiddle to the Guide!

    My preferences are:

Selection and display of the anchor:

    Tolerance: 3 px

Checked the selection of object by trace only

    Snap to Point: 8 px

Checked the Ctrl-click to select objects behind

    Guides:

All boxes checked except for measurement labels

    Alignment of tolerance: 4 pt

You have any 3rd party utility or a Tablet?

My Mac cc2015 is good to work and get the intersect, even with your settings. Your settings are customized, I recommend you to reset your preferences.

  • Turning off align to grid feature

I would like to turn off snapping to the grid, but I'm not sure how. I know you're supposed to 'see', but then the "align on the" drop-down list is "not clickable. Any help?

I remember reading somewhere that you have to have the grid before the option to turn off snap to grid is available. (Older versions as PSE2 and PSE3 does not need to be on the turn snap to grid off the grid. I don't know which version of elements began this change in behavior).

By pressing the CTRL key should temporarily disable snapping.

  • How to break a pen to a guide grid anchor /?

  • New user - cannot set guides

I have chosen leaders, TOOLTIPS, SHOW the GUIDES, ALIGN ON the LANDMARKS, VIEW the SMART GUIDES and SNAP to THE guides.

I click on the rule and drag a guide to the place where I want the guide to be and as soon as I release the mouse button the guide disappears.  What I am doing wrong?

Make sure that you drag a box rule directly above or to the left of the surface of the canvas. Otherwise, as you have noticed, the guideline is not affected.
