Two minutes after I turned on the laptop Vista freezes

My Vista freezes about 2 minutes after I turned on the laptop. Then it does not allow me to do something, so I have to cut the current, do not use the close option. I don't know if it is a common problem in Vista or if it's just my laptop.

Download or leave the laptop on for a very long time will help this problem?

Thank you.

Hello

Usually, the OS should no freezes but sometimes if the temperature of the laptop is high it can happen that the laptop will not answer. Sometimes some installed 3rd party applications could have a bad influence and can cause freezing.

I recommend reinstall the Vista from the Toshiba restore CD.
If the laptop freezes still after the new installation you must contact the technician of the laptop of the ASP in your country.

Good bye

    Hi EddieLopezA,

    ·         Which version of Windows Vista is installed on your computer?

    ·         You have antivirus software on your computer?

This problem may occur if another utility or service, for example a virus check program or a program disk monitoring, locked the partition before you try to run the Chkdsk.exe or Autochk.exe utility.

I have some steps that may help you.

Method 1: I suggest you to turn off all third-party applications and check if you have a similar question.

To do this, follow these steps:

    1. open the start search box, type services.msc and click OK.

    2. in the Services (Local) list scroll the service concerned (for example auditor of virus or disk monitoring tool).

    3. right click on the service and select Properties.

    4. change the startup type to disabled for all applications 3rd - party that could be the cause of the blocking of Chkdsk problem.

    5. click OK/apply.

    6. restart the computer.

Method 2: If this does not help, try to change the registry value and restart the computer.

    1. click on the start search box, type regedit.

    2. in the Publisher of the registry under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE subtree, go to the following subkey:

    \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session manager

3 change the Boot entry run of:

autocheck autochk * /r\DosDevice\C: (or other)

    TO:

    autocheck autochk *.

Note: Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk.  If you want to edit the registry to fix this I urge you to back up your registry before proceeding.

  • While turning on the laptop its gives me a message "your pc will restart in two days for the installation of updates.

About a week ago I just bought windows mobile 8 is installed. Now for the last two days while turning on the laptop its gives me a message "your pc will restart in two days for the installation of updates.

To stop, I get three option 1) sleep 2) arrested update 3) and close

    What should I do?

Original title: windows update issue 8.

    Hi Parichay,

The updates that are being invited to install are automatic updates.

The message you get is offered by Windows 8 after that updates are downloaded and installed.

If you do not restart your computer soon, Windows will force a restart of your computer two days after that it has installed new updates to complete their installation.

You must restart your computer at a convenient time for you, rather than wait two days and have it suddenly reboot maybe at an inopportune time.

    Hope that solves your problem.

  • How can I turn off the laptop after restoring it to factory settings?

    Hello everyone

I'm selling my Portege R830-10 q If I want to restore it to the settings to factory (out-of-box state) AND THEN TURN IT OFF.

I brought the laptop to factory settings successfully using the _TOSHIBA recovery Wizard_ and choosing * factory default software recovery (Recover State out-of-box) *. However, at the end of the process of recovery and after everything is back in place I was not able to TURN off the POWER to the laptop. It only gave me the option to restart. After rephrasing it, the Windows installation process starts.

I don't want to install Windows, i.e. language, keyboard, user account, etc. I want to leave the Windows installation for the person buying the laptop to me. How can I turn off the laptop after the recovery of the system without having to install Windows?

    I would appreciate your help.

    Concerning

    Pedro

When the recovery process is complete and you are prompted for a reboot just press start button / stop and turn it off. I think it's only thing you can do.

Anyway, why not start Windows and go through the configuration option. New owner can modify this basic anyway parameters. As username Admin and language and the keyboard can be set as default.

For example, if you have a picture of German recovery set to German. New owner can change in any case.

  • Difficulty in the light on the AC adapter and the power light power on after connect you to the laptop

HP Pavilion dv3t notebook. Each time get adapter connect to the laptop, it takes at least 10 minutes to get the AC adapter and power indicator light on. Sometimes it does not light on all day.  It always happens any with the battery or not.

If I start the laptop with the light on the AC adapter and the power light, no matter how I move the power cord, it maintains support, works very well.

But if I start the laptop without the light on the AC adapter and the power led on even with the, i.e. start with the battery as power, no matter how I move the power cord, the led on the AC adapter and the light, i.e. no charge. He stops until the battery drain.

I believe that the AC adapter is good. But I have no idea why he has trouble in the light on the AC adapter and the power light on after to connect to the laptop.

Dv6 had a somewhat similar problem that was treated with a BIOS upgrade. I watched the latest BIOS for your laptop and there is nothing about a problem of load, however. If it works very well and also a long time that you turn it on with the AC plugged in but only has a problem with loading when you connect the adapter Windows runs, I'm tempted to say that it is a software problem as a problem with Windows power management. Maybe if you remove the hard drive, power supply, switch it on with battery only, then plug the adapter when you run in a pre-Windows environment, we can see if the same problem occurs. If it was my cell phone, I would also like to do the update BIOS level, just to see if maybe it would affect something. I could also try to run it from a Linux Live disc any and see if the same problem occurs in another operating system. Last resort I would begin focusing on the issues of possible material, as a module of taking bad AC, which is an other replaceable part that requires no welding.

Sometimes when I turn on the laptop, a loud grinding noise is heard from the left corner, near the vents.  I think that's probably the fan.  I turn off the laptop because it doesn't seem like grinding stops.  Then when I turn it on again, grinding noise disappeared.  The fan needs to be replaced, or when the fan needs to be replaced?  Is this easy to do?

Alternatively, the problem could be something else?

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
