Type of memory for Touchsmart 420-1100t - DIMM or SODIMM?

Hi, I keep getting conflicting information on the type of upgrade memory I need for my Touchsmart 420-1100 t. I know it's PC - 3 - 1066 DDR3, but for the life of me, I receive information contradictory re 204 PIN SODIMM or DIMM standard.  The system has a 4Gig chip installed, and I would like to add another.

Can someone please?

Thank you!

Hello:

According to the specifications of the motherboard for your model on the link below it uses memory for laptop (SODIMM).

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03011566

The number of pins that are referenced in the document above is incorrect.

SODIMM DDR2 200 pins a memory and memory DDR3 SODIMM 204 pins.

  • type of memory for acer aspire E15 E5 - 574 G-75N8

Hi, I'm trying to understand what type of memory, I have so that I can get a 2nd dimm and update my laptop aspire.  My computer says I have 8 GB memory DDR3 L and I downloaded CPU - Z and it says I have Kingston KTD ACR16D3LS1KNG / 8G (PC3-12800, 800 mhz, DDR3, 8192MBytes).  However, when you run a search on the web or the site of Kingston, I can't find this part number and most of the memory of 8 GB that I find is 1600 MHz, not the 800 mhz CPU - Z indicating that my bandwidth max is.  I guess I can't use two different speeds.  Anyone know if the memory displayed information are correct for this laptop or how to proceed from here to get a 2nd dimm to upgrade?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

    Your laptop supports up to 16 GB - DDR3L - 1600 MHz (2x8Gb).

    • Memory module, it operates in single channel (1600/2 = 800 MHz).
    • Two modules of memory, they work in dual channel so 1600 MHz.

My hard drive is failng in my computer I get the message that "the failure of hard drive" is imminent for several months now.  I did just recovery disks after I bought my computer and that you have ordered a new hard drive.

I thought that the part of the setup of windows on a portion of the current hard disk that I need to replace.

I want to just make sure that if I can restore the windows completely and that all programmes provided with the computer are on the recovery discs I want to do it myself - so I need to know I'm doing it correctly!

    Thank you very much.

PS I found this web page below and I want to just make sure that it applies to me:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-TouchSmart-420-1000-desktop-PC-series/5146292/model/5155758/d...

This link in the post seems to apply to the situation.  If you have already completed the defined recovery disc then it should just be a matter of running the recovery disc after the new hard drive is installed.  The recovery disk set will be "restoring windows completely and all programs included with the computer".  Be aware that all other items that were installed or personal data will not be restored.  When replacing the hard drive, do not buy a disc exceeds the limit of 2 TB, such as published in the SPECS for TouchSmart 420-1000 t CTO.

  • Question about the upgrade memory for my Satellite M40-307

Sorry for the newbie question. But if I have 512 MB of memory for the time being, what are my upgrade options?

Do I have to buy pairs of memory? So I can or buy 2 x 1 GB = 2 GB, or 2 x 512 MB = 1 GB + 512 existing. Or can I say just buy a single 512 MB or 1 GB chip?

Since no one wants to answer:
    1. check if your laptop supports Dual Channel Ram (it should be, but just see the manual to be sure)
    2. knowledge of what type of RAM you have. This will add or remove a possibility of upgrade

The thing with Dual Channel is, that you have the best performance if you use 2 RAM of the same type (really of the same type: company, size...)
    you could:
    3. Add a 512 MB of RAM of the same type you have
3 b. buy 2 pieces of new RAM of the same type (1 GB + 1 GB, or 2 + 2 GB) and do not forget that your laptop supports this quantity (once again: manual to check)

You will also find in the manual, if your computer supports DDR or same DDR2 RAM (faster)

If you have lost your manual, you can download it here on the toshiba Web page

    I hope I could help a little.

  • Pavilion p6608f: upgrade memory for p6608f

Hello, my Pavilion p6608f came with 4 GB of RAM. I want to upgrade. By HP features, the motherboard is a MSI ms-7613 and it should support up to 16 GB of RAM (4 x 4 GB DIMMS). I bought 4 DIMM which seem to fit specifications, but the computer wouldn't POST after installation. I tried reseating the DIMMs, but no luck. My hypothesis is that the memory is not compatible.  I'm unable to find good information on the compatible memory for this computer on the site of Kingston, MSI site, or the site of HP. (Any ideas on one) why the memory I bought is not compatible and b) how to find compatible memory?

    Thank you.

Saw that Crucial guarantees their recommendations, I'd go with it.  You may contact their Customer Service to see what they have to say if you are still skeptical.  I have recommended Crucial memory for years without reports of incorrect memory being received.

    Hello

There are 2 slots of RAM available. It is possible to use 320 MB Max. You need SDRAM. As far as I know that there are 64 MB of available RAM and is not removable.

You can create in the RAM 1 X 265 MB module and use the maximum memory.

    Hello sorbet

I found the information that your laptop can handle with 512 MB max. I guess that your device already has 256 MB. You can use the second 256 MB module and put it in a second slot.

Part number for the module memory of 256 MB is PA3127U - 1. 25 M.

In addition, you must know that the mobile graphics cards are simply different and you can't compare these chips with adapters for desktop PCs.
