Type on a closed path...

Is it possible to have two separate instances of the text on the same closed path?

I have an ellipse, and I want the text on the top and the text on the background, both read from left to right:

FSB-Oval.jpg

to do this, I had to create 2 individual ellipse paths and place them above the other.

is it possible on track 1 ellipse to save a little time?

The answer is Yes. I'll make a video and post it.

See you soon

GPGW,

If I (put) understand it, you can, starting with all deselected, commented on are your friends:

(1) with the selection tool direct Alt/OptionClick the path away from the guy (Smart Guides say path or anchor), then Ctrl / Cmd + C + F, then apply Stroke of origin in the tools/thought the Contour pallet box;

2) click the Type and press DELETE.

That should give you the original path with a vascular accident brain (so you can see) and without the Type.

• the pencil of the closed path 17.1 - does not work for me

Hello.

is this working for anyone?

Draw paths with the pencil tool

1. Select the pencil tool.
2. Place the tool where you want the path to start, and begin to drag to draw a path.
3. When you started to drag, hold down Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS). The pencil tool displays a small circle (and, in InDesign, a solid gum) to indicate that you create a closed path.
4. When the path is the size and shape you want, release the mouse button (but not the Alt or Option key). After the closure of the road, release the Alt or Option key. You do not have to position the cursor at the starting point of the path to create a closed path; if you release the mouse button in another place, the pencil tool will close the form by creating the shortest line possible return to the starting point.

This isn't for me. After I start drawing and I hold down the option, it's going to draw a straight line. I hold the key until after I said drawing early on.

same thing with the railways connect two. pressing the button command does not change the behavior of the pencil tool.

I guess there is no way to remap "smooth tool" to the new option? or moved it to a different shortcut key?

It seems that the manual has not been updated to cover the new features.

• Features simple filled closed paths.

Hi all the masters of the Illustrator and end users. I feel that what I try to do is not possible with Illustrator and the method I use is the only way that this is possible. I would like to be able to "convert" a single path to a series of closed filled paths. Here I have a shape that resembles the letter P.

Stroke Example.jpg

It is a single path with an accident 100 PT on this stroke. It is exactly the form that I need, but it's a unique path. How I wish it were in a series of closed paths overflows.

Stroke Example 3.jpg

This is the desired shape, shape that I need. The process that I used to do is take a page while save the AI would be sufficient. I then open it up in Photoshop and save it as an image file. so lose the sharpness of the vector. I then go back to Illustrator and open the image, trace it and get my closed paths. It is not a good idea to go the vector of the form > bitmap > vector. I prefer to stay in the environment of vector, but I know of a way to get a single closed path path.

I'd love to hear that it is both possible and not complicated to create. If you know a way to do it please let me know.

Thanks in advance,

• Rounded closed paths?

I'm trying to round up a path of a triangle for that inside and outside each corner is rounded.

applying some rounded corners through the options of race or the aesthetic effect is around the inside of a closed path.

by aligning a triangle with rounded corners on another and then with the help of pathfinder at least isn't an easy solution because it will cause the thickness of the line varies unless the triangles have different sizes and angles rounded. In addition, they do not easily align.

is there a simple way to round off a path as there are to rounded corners?

Using (effect > Stylize > round corners) rather than to use the option of running rounds worked for me in CS4.

Don't know why aesthetic effects did not work for you, I have not found any reason that would make that >.<. can="" you="" try="" the="" effect="">

Hi all users of Illustrator. I am currently working on a project and I have a series of forms (closed paths) that I would like to change. I had abrowse by the guid of the user and searched the forum and found nothing really help. Here is a simple drawing of what I would like to be able to do.

Path.jpg

I want to be able to recover part of the way closed and drag in any direction with the other themsevles segments by adjusting accordingly.

Select anchor points, you want to drag by using direct Selection tool (letter a) and drag in the direction you want.

• verification of the closed path

Hi guys,.

I'm new to scripting, I am able to check closed paths but I am struck in some problem.

Whenever I have remove some segments of closed path and join leaving a particular outside a newly closed path segment done, my script fails to recognize the open path. attached screenshots.

In the second image after you remove the segment I am not able to recognize the path which is a segment that has closed the access road.

Here is my code:

var thePathed = app.activeDocument;

for (var a = 0; a < thePathed.pathItems.length; a ++)
{

app.activeDocument = thePathed;

var aPath = thePathed.pathItems [a];

for (var b = 0; b < aPath.subPathItems.length; b ++)
{
If (aPath.subPathItems [b] .closed is false)
{

Alert ("error in path name:" + aPath.name)

}
}

}
Alert ('check complete Path')

Any suggestions on it's significant.

Thank you in advance...

Kind regards

Annesh MRD

I think I see what is wrong. You have changed the path in a way that makes a complex path not separate paths.

Try this

var thePathed = app.activeDocument;

for (var a = 0;< thepathed.pathitems.length;="">
{

app.activeDocument = thePathed;

var aPath = thePathed.pathItems [a];

for (var b = 0; b)< apath.subpathitems.length;="">
{
If (aPath.subPathItems [b] .operation == ShapeOperation.SHAPEXOR | aPath.subPathItems [b] .closed == false)
{

Alert ("error in path name:" + aPath.name)

}
}

}
Alert ('check complete Path')

• Funky closed path split into 3 parallel pieces

I so a path of closed type cupcake-y, with the tool pen, where neither side is right, and the upper part is quite sinuous.

My goal is to separate three lines of text in the shape and make envelope distorted so that the upper part has a straight down, the middle section is a right up and down and winding left and right sides, and the bottom has a high right only. I would also like some space between the two.

How can I split my way and add a little space between each section?

noualsh,

Try this, on a copy of the form of cupcake (always keep the original work when you begin to destroy):

(1) to create two horizontal pairs of paths right (you can drag the line tool) wherever you like to split it;

(2) select each path and the object > divide objects below, then remove the access roads to space;

(3) use each form remains as the Top object to object > envelope distort.

• Path Type returns 0, absolute path should return 2 < not a path > when the path is empty

Path Type function should return 2 when the path is empty

Now, it returns the absolute 0 path if the path is empty.

I would use it to check if the user has entered a path or not.

Of course, I could check to see if the control isn't a path or vacuum, but he would NCE to have a function to check.

I understand what you're saying. If you look in the OpenG code, there is a VI of valid path that does what you ask.

• Cannot type text inside a path

Hello

I followed some tutorials online on how make custom shaped text boxes and they say all create a path and then when you put the text inside the path tool, there should be a dotted circle and the text that you create will be linked by this way. I created the way I want, but there is no circle dashed when I put the text inside the path type tool and I can't type the text that you will be bound by the path. Here's a screenshot of my worskpace: http://imgur.com/kLE5GbU . I use Photoshop CS5.

Thank you

Yes, I think maybe that's her. Type inside a path does not work if the path is not fully enclosed.

If you want neat and pretty fast as noted above, id type actually text on a path of the ellipse as BarbBinder said:

mark the center point of the ellipse

THEN the outline of the text.

then draw a few lines from this point to Center through the letters you want to stretch (E in my example below).

and use the option of path finder "fracture" to cut through the line / letter.

Then use the center point, you did to rotate around your circle letters

then use the elipse tool now the option key pressed to draw from the Center and bring out the circle to coincide with the Directorates-General of the letter E,.

Use the balance to adjust as close as possible.

then add the anchor points with the pen tool +.

and delete the unwanted parts

Use 'join' to join the sections to get them filled.

and refine the anchor points to perfectly align.

• continue a closed path

Hi there,

If I finished and CLOSED a path (pen tool) that I can continue it somehow? Scissors or knife it and then maybe continue? obviously something more simple than that would be welcome.

If I finished and CLOSED a path (pen tool) that I can continue it somehow? Scissors or knife it and then maybe continue?

Yes.

obviously something more simple than that would be welcome.

How much simpler can you get? The path must be broken first before you can extend it and have it miss the same path (adding external points to the middle section).

Alternatively, if the end result must be a closed another path, you could simply start a new path that overlaps one and then use Pathfinder > unit on two tracks.
