U2414H - question Daisy chaining

Trying to get U2414H monitor purchased from Dell daisy chain with MS Surface Pro 3 (8.1) (all updates made). Driver for the monitor is also downloaded and installed.

Have Surface Pro 3 dock miniDP to DP (en) U2414H then (out) DP / DVI on 3rd screen.

I activated PD 1.2 on the Dell and I can extend screens of the Surface of the U2414H very well.

I clicked on "detection" to see if it detects the screen which is attached via DP to DVI cable and it gives ONLY the option to connect via VGA.

I could go buy a DP to VGA cable and hope that it would work with that, but why the options do not have a choice of DVI? If possible, please let me know what to do to get this choice.

Thank you

Katrina

Update: ordered another monitor U2414H, but none of the cables provided with this worked. I had to order a cable of DP to DP to connect two monitors. DPout used in the RPI and it works fine now.

  • Resolution of U2414H DisplayPort Daisy Chain/STD problem

    Hello

    I have what seems to be a common problem with no solution on these pages; with DisplayPort STD.

    I had two of these Dell monitors over the weekend and spent about 3 hours trying to get STD to work with them. I arrived later, and they have worked fine for about 36 hours.

    In this time my computer restarted two times without any problem. However, this morning I had upward, turned and suddenly the second (end of my STD string) string is not recognized as an instructor. It shows my desktop, but only at 640 x 480. AMD Catalyst can see it, but refers to it as 'No Display connected.

    My setup is a Gigabyte Radeon HD 7950 feeding these two Dells (on a single string of DP STD), a Compaq Q2022a on HDMI and a DVI. The first dell also has a USB Bluetooth stick and WiFi USB dongles plugged, and the second dell USB tire this is the capacity of the first. Both worked absolutely fine when I went to bed, and this morning, the second in the chain was not.

    I am looking to buy up to four more of them for a tri-moniteur stacked configuration, but I need them to be more reliable before I can justify spending that much! I love the thin bezel and STD is a must for the configuration I want, but reliability is essential too, I don't want to spend an hour a day fixing everything...

    Thank you

    For anyone interested, my workaround is the following:

    -Unplug the monitor two monitor one

    -Disable STD on monitor 1

    -STD re - activate the monitor 1

    -Reconnect the monitor 2 in 1

    -Hold the power for about 8 seconds on Monitor 2

    Seems to work after having done this, not.
    Of course, a better solution would be for Dell to realize they sold a product of poor quality, do a recall and get fixed them correctly. This is currently my only product of Dell and if this is how their quality control, I certainly won't be getting more.

    You use IPHOTOS or PHOTOS and what version of the operating system.

    You can have several libraries in IPHOTOS and PICTURES (in the pictures that only your library designated system is synchronized with other devices via ICLOUD).     You can split the libraries of useful information - like a vacation, family events, pictures of your pets.

  • Don't daisy chaining affect results of the assessment?

    I need to split a large file of Captivate 4 project into smaller segments. If I Garland resulting segments, what will happen to evaluating the results since the first segments of one or two. Currently, the results of the evaluation of all the slides appear as a total accumulated after the questionnaire at the end of the tutorial. If I shared the tutorial and daisy chain segments, the total valuation always results will include results of the evaluation of all the blades in the Garland?

    And what happens to the table of contents? All segments of the closed string will have the same table of contents? If so, how would I update the table of contents if I had to?

    If plug you in series a project, then each project will be an instance separated with no communication between them. Basically all assessments, OCD etc will apply to this particular project if you will not be able to get a cumulative total for your contributions in the last chapter.

    If you have access to a Flash programmer, you can create features to store the results of the quiz of each chapter and then bring them all together in the last chapter.

    There is no joy for the table of contents. Maybe you can use the aggregate instead of this function, but the functionality and the level of detail is not the same as the table of contents.

  • Daisy chaining 2 U2414H to Surface Pro 3

    A month ago I bought an i7 Pro 3 Surface and a week ago I bought 2 monitors Dell U2414H more than 2 cables of Startech (HB miniDP2) and DP2DP.  I plugged the miniDP2DP at the entrance of the first monitor and then the DP2DP cable to the output port of the first monitor in the inlet of the second monitor.  I figured that miniDP to the Docking Station is not compatible extension so I plugged it on the Tablet miniDP.

    I can't get the two Dell monitors act as screens 2 and 3. When I select to extend the display, if I disable the DisplayPort 1.2 on the first monitor (via the menu settings-> DisplayPort display-> enable / disable) I can get the screen 3 is a 2 screenshot, but if I put it on Enable, screen 3 is empty.  When I change screen 2 setting back to activate, I get a warning message that I need to make sure that the graphic card supports STD / DisplayPort 1.2.

    I checked the graphics driver and firmware for the monitors and the Surface Pro 3. I tried the two cables provided with the monitors, all to nothing does not.  I called technical support from Microsoft and Dell technical support time and both tell me that their components work fine, it's a problem with it product of another company.

    I've seen several posts on this site but I haven't seen a good response to my problem.  Someone out there who has had this problem and found a solution?

  • U2414H questions

    I bought a u2414h about a month ago and he has this really weird problem. In the center of the screen it looks like there is semi transparent vertical lines. It's hard to describe, but it looks like the lower part of this picture.

    Some things ive noticed in trying to figure out the cause:
    -the lines don't change or move when moving an image on the screen.
    -filter ag is supposed to be cross free hatching and seems to be consistent when the screen is off
    -ive tried different cables and it does make a difference.
    -ive hooked the monitor up to your laptop to make sure it's not not my video card and the lines were always there.
    -l' effect comes and goes. sometimes its almost the size of the Palm of your hand and very sensitive for a few days its barely there.

    any ideas of what could be the cause?

    Run monitor factory reset, self-test, SUBMISSION (built-in diagnosis) by these instructions that remove troubleshooting computer and wiring. You see the problem when you run the tests? If so, get it exchanged if still within the warranty period of 3 years. If you don't see the question, the culprit is the graphics card, graphics card Driver or the wiring.
    -If the replacement screen does not have the problem, return the original monitor to Dell using the return packing slip.
    -If the replacement screen has the same question, the monitors were not the culprit in the first place. Send the replacement back and keep the original. Turn to the system, the video card or card video as the culprit driver.

    I have need a recommendation of what HP monitors I need to buy two monitors in Garland of Surface PRO 3 with 1 single Displayport.

  • Daisy chaining with other routers and the common IP range EA6500 V2

    I have a local network of...

    • a modem
    • a gateway connected to the modem computer/server
    • has a modem-router connected to the gateway/server via the port of the gateway/internet
      (gateway/a two server NETWORK interface card)
    • a and B modem router wireless connected to the router via the gateway/router internet port B
    • both A and B using the same set of IP addresses, 192.168.0.XXX

    Now I want to do the same thing with my Linksys EA6500 V2 I did with router B, I want to connect the Linksys router has via gateway/internet port on Linksys.  In addition, I want the Linksys router to use the DHCP server on the gateway server / as everyone is on the local network and, of course, I want to use the series of IP addresses, 192.168.0.XXX.

    What I tried to do is to disable DHCP on the Linksys service, but nothing seems to change once the changes are activated.  I look in the Local network settings and see all the old default 192.168.1.1 for the router address and so on.  I also tried to change the address of the router manually an address of 192.168.0.x and was immediately cut off this subnet.  I tried the renewal of my Windows client computer and couldn't do that either.  And as my client could not change its own address 192.168.1.X, I couldn't reach the router to the address that I gave him.

    How can I set up this router so that it uses the DHCP server on the gateway/server computer, including acquiring its own address in the same series.  Or at least set up so that it uses the same series of address than the rest of the LAN and no longer functions as a separate subnet?

    It seemed that all I had to do to set up router B to connect this way was to disable the DHCP server and everything fell into place, no problem.  Is this all I need to do here?  Am I supposed to restart or something?  I'm tired of guessing and trial and error.

    All tips or hints would be appreciated.

    You have to give the EA6500 a router static IP address in the same subnet as your network, but not in the DHCP range.

    Follow the instructions for 'LAN to LAN' Cascading in the link below:

    In waterfall or connect a Linksys router to another router

    Thing to keep in mind when cascading a router:

    1. Change the IP address of the secondary router to something like 192.168.1.254 so its on the same network, but is not in conflict with the main router
    2. Make sure that the DHCP service is disabled on the secondary router
    3. Make sure that nothing is ever connected to the internet port of the secondary router
    4. Differentiate the wireless SSID by location (Ex: downstairs) and the channel
  • Not active Ethernet E3200 ports if daisy chained with 2Wire modem/router?

    I have a 2Wire 2700G - B DSL modem/4 port router provided by ATT. The WiFi range has a problem so I had a router Linksys E3200 to extend range. I ran the cable Cat5 100 feet across the House and connected the linksys E3200 Cat5 between one of the 4 Ethernet ports on my 2Wire and the Port of 'Internet' from the Linksys 3200. I put in place and seem to have a stronger second network access this router wireless (although it is not a Repeater, I alternate between two wifi networks as I walk home with my iphone).

    I plugged in the Linksys E3200 ports WIRED devices wired Ethernet and they are not recognized by my PC as the devices connected to the 2Wire ethernet ports are. My PC is plugged into the port of 2Wire as well.

    How can I activate the 4 ethernet ports on the 3200 to be additional ports to my home network as the 4 on the 2Wire?

  • The Daisy Chain Camera software update

    Hai all,

    We connected via Garland of precision 1080 p HD camera. We want to make the software upgrade for the same thing on the network.

    I found the document for the same thing, mentioning the camera software ftp transfer. But where I can load the file of the software (.pkg) camera.

    Can I use same file software to transport CANADA (TC 5.1.5 .pkg) for the upgrade of the camera files. Some body please help me.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    I've never tried the ethernet upgrade procedure, but I think the package that needs to be loaded via an ftp client for the camera which got an IP via DHCP is the package located at mnt/base/active/rover.pkg. Copy this package to a system which has installed the ftp client and that has IP connectivity to the camera.

    To check that your device is indeed a 'Rover' camera, you can run the following command.

    XStatus Camera //HardwareID

    * s camera 1 HardwareID: "52000000."

    * s camera 2 HardwareID:

    * s camera 3 HardwareID:

    * s camera 4 HardwareID:

    * s camera 5 HardwareID:

    * s camera 6 HardwareID:

    * s camera 7 HardwareID:

    * end

    Ok

    PrecisionHDMC 1080 p x 12 (Rover) a camera HardwareID: "50xxxxxx."

    PrecisionHDMC 1080 p 4 x (limited software Rover) a camera HardwareID: "51xxxxxx."

    PrecisionHDMC 1080 p 4 x (Sangam) a camera HardwareID: "52xxxxxx." Limited to 30 fps

    PrecisionHDMC 1080 p 4 x (Nandi) sold so far only with the SX20 (Asterix) a camera HardwareID: "53xxxxxx." Nandi has the new order form HDMI/camera and 1080 p 60.

    PrecisionHDMC 1080 p 2.5 x (Sispara) has Camera ID: 54xxxxxx. Sispara was the new HDMI/camera taken control and 1080 p 60 support.

    Rover should have HardwareID: "50xxxxxx."

    Check if the codec is the ftp client.

  • U2414H to connect to the PC via HDMI and chaining

    Hi all.  I have two US2414H I am trying to connect to my Dell XPS of 5 years.  The NVIDIA Geoforce GT 740 LP graphics card has only one of each DVI, HDMI and VGA ports.  No DP to all ports.  I managed to connect a monitor with a HDMI to HDMI connection.  The manual says to use cable of DP/miniDP to chain the two monitors together, but I can't get this to work.  I tried switching ends, I plug into which monitor.

    What happens if I got a DP/DP cable or cable miniDP/miniDP, rather than using the DP/miniDP cable supplied with the monitor?

    I begin to fear that, without connecting the monitor 1 via connection DP, I won't be able to Garland.  I'm wrong, or is there a solution?  I'll be forced to install a new graphics card with port of DP?  $$$$$

    I really didn't know that I should be an expert comes to install a COMPUTER monitor.  JSYK, I'm far from being a COMPUTER expert.  Laughing out loud!

    FYI, I was on the phone last night, with Dell technical support, and the representative told me that, without port DP on my PC, I need a HDMI to DVI cable adapter.  I bought one, and it still doesn't work.  Not amused.

    The U2414H has two HDMI ports. Thus, when you open the OSD (On Screen Display) - input Source, you should test both the HDMI listed.

    Daisy chain of the U2414H, you need to get a video card with DP or CDM outside.

    In theory, it should work =
    GeForce GT 740 out HDMI--> HDMI to HDMI Cable--> #1 U2414H HDMI in
    GeForce GT 740 out DVI--> DVI to HDMI Cable --> HDMI U2414H #2 in

  • Question of MXI - 2 / MXI-4

    I'll need to develop a test program on a test system VXI which is controlled by an external PC running LabView 8.2 and bound by a MXI-2 interface.  For my needs, I need to add a PXI chassis for a few extra features.  My question is if it is possible to buy a PXI - MXI-4 interface (or something else) and daisy chain it along the existing PCI - MXI-2 string, or would I need a second MXI interface in the PC?  If it is possible, are there requirements on the corresponding channel PXI chassis?

    TIA,

    George

    Find my own answers (Google seaches site help when you can't find information otherwise).  I guess that most of the people here do not deal VXI/PXI with an external computer, slot-limited... at least, not more.

  • How to string U2414H two screens without connector DIsplay Port

    I have a U244H screen and want to buy another to increase my overall display area.

    Currently, I connect to the U2414H using the HDMI output on my laptop. My laptop has 1 x HDMI and 1 x VGA outputs. Is it possible to set up daisy chaining with this configuration?

    I used the following Setup successfully. U2414H connected to HDMI and VGA monitor connected to the VGA output of my laptop and working well. However, I prefer two monitors of U2414H due to the smaller borders.

    The P2414H the same resolution (1920 x 1080) and the VGA port.

    The S2415H NOTE from the ADMIN: broken link has been removed from this post by Dell > the same resolution (1920 x 1080) and the VGA port.
