U2415, passing into hibernation every 5 minutes

I'm hoping for a cure.

I just got a nice Dell U2415 monitor, and since the first time I turned it on it will not stay. If I turn it off and turn it back on it works for 5-10 minutes and turns off again. A message appears 'entering power saving mode hibernation'. Sometimes I have to restart my computer. (not good)

The monitor has the review AO1. I read here on the forum to understand why but am stuck.

I reinstalled the drivers, has done the reset procedure, off the screensaver slideshow, not connected the cable USB 3 W7, changed the mode for W7 to never turn off the monitor, and nothing has changed the symptoms.

Does anyone else have this problem? In the Yes your correct you? Should she go back to Dell for repair?

Windows 7 32 bit, Nvidia 750 TI GTX graphics card, computer Dell XPS 420.

Richard

The problem is solved!

I reformated for W7 64 bit. It's been about 3-4 weeks and the monitor has not turned off once.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I guess that W7 32 bit can not handle this monitor.

My computer goes to sleep every 5 minutes in standby mode and needs to get back to where I left my password. I tried to change the power options, but he keeps doing. If I'm watching a video, the screen turns off and ask for my password, but you can still video game.

    Hello

Open windows control panel, open personalization, click on the link to screensaver at the bottom right and in the next window, set the time in the area of 'Wait' for once you want before the screen saver appears, and click on apply. Or if you never get the logon screen, remove the check mark next to of "on resume, display the login page»  Click on apply to save the changes.

Then open windows control panel again and click on Power Options, click Change plan settings next to your current power plan selected in the next window, set the time using the drop-down list next to "Turn wide Display" to a more acceptable level and then click on save changes.

Note:  Set in the Options menu of food to be slightly longer than the time set in the Menu of the screen saver or you will never see your screen saver start.

  • Blue screen and the computer goes into a reboot loop after every 15 minutes

    Original title: fix blue screen

Computer stops automatically at almost every 15 minutes apart, the blue screen appears and is long enough to read the information to fix this.  Computer automatically restarts.

    Hi Lady Cole,.

    a. when the issue occurred?

    b. remember to make changes to your computer before the problem?

    Step 1:

To disable the automatic restart in case of system error, follow these steps:

    a. restart your computer and start pressing F8 on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured to start to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.

    b. Select disables automatic system failure reboot when the Windows Advanced Options menu is displayed and press ENTER.

When a problem causes a blue screen of death or another major error that stops the system, the computer restarts automatically. Need to restart manually, and you would be able to note the error message and after return.

A description of the options to start in Windows XP Mode: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315222

    Step 2:

Start your machine in safe mode and check if the problem persists.

    Step 3:

If the problem does not occur in safe mode, I would like you to put your machine in a clean boot State in order to determine whether the problem is caused by a conflict of third party software. Clean boot helps eliminate the conflict of third party software.

Note : do not forget to restart your machine as usual.

  • computer won't stay asleep or put into hibernation

I have recently reinstalled Windows 7 on a desktop computer.  I used to leave it on all the time but now I want it to go to sleep or put into hibernation after a few minutes (and stay that way until we want to use it).  I tried to sleep, hibernate and hybrid sleep.  It will turn off, but in a few minutes he returned upward by itself.  Sometimes it seems to scroll, and down every few minutes.

I read that USB devices can cause this, but only the mouse and keyboard are attached via the USB port.  There are two internal hard drives.

    A thought-

Check the network and sharing Center

Some settings of the map change

A click with the right button on your network adapter

    Select Properties

    Select Configure, then power management

and make sure that allow this device to wake the computer is not checked?

An email was sent to our account from an iPhone; the e-mail contained two photos. For the next two days, that E-mail reproduces itself in our Inbox (with the same time/date) more than two hundred times... like every 8 minutes. I have blocked using the object, and those still in the Inbox disappeared. (We were constantly moving them to the trash). A computer guru suggested I unlock now, and he has not returned. However, because the e-mail arrived Wednesday morning we have not been able to get new emails. They appear on in Yahoo email, but nothing will come by Thunderbird. (Get new emails seems to be "stuck"). Our Norton account has done many tests, and that did not help. Can someone help us get our email back to normal? Moreover, the same email/photos were sent to two other people of the same phone I, and they had no problem at all with him.

  • Stop FF shouts at IP address 72.21.91.19 every 15 minutes

Why FF shout to the IP 72.21.91.19?
I found that the IP address belongs to Edgecast and seemed to be possibly related to the live bookmarks FF and/or the last cuff direct book mark.

But FF is still trying to go to that IP address, even after the live bookmark has been deleted. He's trying to do this every 15 minutes and sometimes more often.

Currently I'm blocking this IP address with my firewall. This seems to be a problem of security & privacy. But I have not found a way to block completely the live bookmarks. WHAT happens if FF is open and occurs regardless of what the browser of the site is or was invited.

This is an older system and the FF ver 3.6.28 (it's a good old stable OS W2k system). FF use NoScript, Ghostery and ADP. The system passes all of the checks of virus, including Malware Bytes and Super anti-spyware.

    TIA for help with this

  • Probook450G3: question sleep/put into hibernation

I did a fresh install of windows 10Prox64 on this laptop which is originally pre-loaded with windows7 Prox64. I installed the drivers on the disc included. now, every time the laptop into hibernation or sleep I can't wake him up - the screen blinks several times then turns white. Nothing comes on the screen even not the mouse pointer. I can only continue by making a forced power off feeding and when I start her works normally as long as he does not sleep. I installed all the updates driver/Windows with the same result. Is there something else I can try other than to return to HP?

    HI Lotto,

Please download and install the software HP support assistant from this link:

    http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?JumpID=va_r602_us/en/any/PSG/pl_ot_ob_ds_pd/hpsupportassistant_cc/DT & _sm_au_ = i7VQZMWMQRfwpVps

It will help to identify and correct the missing drivers and updates also.

This link also contains manuals on how to use HP Support Assistant. Make sure that you are connected to the internet during this operation.

If this does not work, you can try to reset your power options "by default" in the microsoft windows system.

and in the end, as a workaround, you can modifty power plan options to avoid hibbernation or standby mode.

  • Run the script automatically when Windows goes into hibernation or wakes up?

    Hello

I use the group policy feature in Windows XP to run scripts automatically when you open a session or logoff.

But it is also possible to make a script run automatically, whenever a Windows-xp machine is about to Hibernate? And also when it wakes up from hibernation?

    The clues how to proceed?

A funny hibernation is that if you put into hibernation and power then upwards and don't 'do' nothing - like press a key or move the mouse (just to sit and watch), in 300 seconds (5 minutes), XP will go back into Hibernation automatically.  Try it!

XP does because after it comes out of Hibernation, if XP detects that there is nothing to 'do', he thinks he might be from Hibernation by accident and goes back to "sleep" and said "why you wake me up?

That's why when people hibernate during the night and their machine turn on the morning he wakes up, they make their coffee or breakfast and return later to see that they have the power of their machine again.  If they think something is wrong, but things are working as expected.

One way to fix this, is to use a third-party tool that uses the command line to simulate a mouse movement.   It is enough to prevent the rehibernating while you are on XP.

To simulate a movement of the mouse as soon as your system is equipped with Hibernation, you will need to download the nircmd.exe file.

There are many other utilities of vouchers on NirSoft main page:
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/

To simulate the movement of the mouse, download the file nircmd.exe here

    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/nircmd2.html

Put the nircmd.exe file in a folder which is somewhere in your path (c:\windows\system32, etc.) or consult the path in your command file. I put the nircmd.exe file in my c:\tools folder where I keep other things.

If you do not have Hibernate enabled in your Power Options, tab hibernation, it will put your system on Stand-By instead of Hibernation.

Create a batch file (I called mine hibernate.bat and put the nircmd.exe in my c:\tools folder) and put this line in your hibernate.bat file:

    off @echo
    Powrprof.dll, SetSuspendState c:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe Hibernate
    c:\tools\nircmd.exe 10 10 movecursor
    movecursor-10 c:\tools\nircmd.exe - 10

Save the new file hibernate.bat on your desktop or somewhere, you can retain and double-click it to run the batch file.  When you are sure that it works very well, and then drag the new desktop icon to your quick launch area (to the right of the button start), change the icon, rename, etc, so it looks a bit better and then you can click on new quick launch when icon to call the file hibernate.bat.  Now just remember to use the hibernate.bat file (which could be on your desktop with a nice icon) instead of the menu to turn off the computer.

The first command will put the system into hibernation, and then when XP comes from hibernation (even days later), run the following commands in the batch file.  These last two commands will simulate a slight mouse movement and who will deceive XP into thinking there is a reason to get out of hibernation and it will not go back to sleep.  Then when you come back from your coffee, your system is always waiting for you.

If your case, your hibernate.bat might look something like:

    off @echo
    order 1 run before hibernation
    2 run before hibernation command
order 3 to run before hibernation

    Powrprof.dll, SetSuspendState c:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe Hibernate

order 4 to run when coming out of hibernation
command 5 to run when coming out of hibernation
order 6 to run when coming out of hibernation

  • HP LaserJet maintains initialization every 5 minutes on the minute no matter what I do.

I'm on my second HP LaserJet M276nw in a month. Both are on sleep after 1 minute... one did from the beginning, worked/second was sleeping fine for a week and now every 5 minutes it does it of noise, wakes up without reason and goes in initialization mode, then back to sleep. Very annoying. Is there a way to stop this? I was told by support that it is not normal, then I traded one and now I have another.

I use it very little, yet a lot of ink, and it is plugged directly into its own support.

ANY IDEAS to try would be very appreciated, other than that I like the printer up to now

    Thank you

    Caper

Thank you Lion, but I have tried this several times because that's all the Indian call center suggests to try again and again, does not work well.

I discovered thanks to a suggestion from dansdaduk that if I unplug my router and then turn off my printer, wait, then turn on my printer with nothing hooked up wireless, and then restore my wireless router, things seem to be FINE. Makes about 6 days now and everything seems still well but were not using everything as far as the end is... still could happen again, but if I can get a week or more out of this solution, I'm HAPPY!
Thank you very much, if it continues this way I'll mark the resolved next week.

    Thank you ALL

  • My computer has been doing the BlueScreen thing where it stops every 5 minutes when I go to normal mode

Original title: Windows Update does not work on security with networking mode

Hi, if my computer has been doing the BlueScreen thing where it stops every 5 minutes when I go to normal mode. So I go on security with networking mode and I went to problem and solutions and all this stuff, and the Web site that came to help me solve the blue screen was told to go to "All programs" and then go into "Windows Update". but the problem with that is does not work! My cursor will give me the circle of loading bit for a few seconds and that's it! And don't tell me to go to because every time startup repair I have try that he asks me "User" and I tried everything and nothing will work! :/ And apparently, it's a driver problem, not a hardware problem, because I already removed and put in the back of my equipment. Then Yes.

    Thanks for your help! :)

Windows Update does not [Safe] mode with network

Yes, that's correct. You can not run manually check updates in Mode safe mode with networking since the necessary Services are not running.

  • Why am I be 'locked' every few minutes?

during the last two days became a situation where my computer 'blocks' every few minutes.  I'm invited to my password.  When administered, I returned at once where I was.  It's very disruptive and irritating.

    Just a suggestion:

    Temporarily disable your antivirus software.
Then see if the problem persists. |
If the problem passed, maybe time to move to something less intrusive than programs such as Norton and McAfee.

  • My STR-DN1050 goes to sleep every 19 minutes

I now have my STR-DN1050 configuration in a 7.1 configuration and I am currently feeding inside my computer via a HDMI cable and output to a TV screen via the output CD/SACD.

Every 19 minutes, regular as clock work, the receiver goes into sleep mode. This does not happen when you watch a BlurRay (at least as far as I remember).

    Anyone got any ideas?

Hi are Paddy, we meet again!

In fact you almost see right, that's 20 minutes to be precise!

Your STR-DN1050 has a power save feature called [Auto Standby].

In addition to this, there is also a sleep timer, but your problem is related to the expectation of the car which you can turn off if it is a problem. I don't know why this turns on when you use a PC connected, but most likely the receiver does not detect the source of the signal in the same way as a BD or DVD.

You can read more about it and how to disable the manual online here:

    The receiver turns off automatically.

If you want to download the full manual for your computer, see this link: Manual STR-DN1050
