U450p battery alarm

I bought my wife a Lenovo Ideapad U450p for Christmas.  Everything is good except the integrated battery alarm sound.  I can't find a way to lower the volume, mute, it, or turn off the beep when the battery reaches the lower status.

This beep is much too strong and can be heard from the room not good for our newborn when he sleeps.

I tried looking through the sound settings in the control panel. nothing available to adjust the volume of the speaker system.  I tried to disable the "beep" in the device under "non plug and play drivers" Manager  I looked in the bios; no selection for the system volume.

Is there a way to set, mute, or disable this?

  • Satellite L40-139 - possible to disable the low battery alarm?

I have a Toshiba Satellite L40-139 it comes with Windows Vista running. I think the battery is now a little age, because it does not load when the computer is plugged in - although the computer itself is capable of functioning when it is plugged in, which is how I use it.

Battery sank to about 10%. For this reason, the computer will sound low-battery-warning beep every fifteen seconds or more. This seems to come from the computer itself and not the operating system, it sounds different from low battery alerts in Control Panel > sounds.

I would like to disable this beep - it is not to tell me anything I don't already know. Until now, the only way to achieve this, I have found is by inhibition of the laptop altogether. But is not ideal, because it means that I can't use any other sound feature on the computer.

I tried, without success, changing the settings in the control panel > power settings, including lower low and critical battery levels and fix warnings for low battery to "off".

    Any ideas?

    Hello

    Please check the BIOS settings.
To access the BIOS F2 press Mobile start upward.
There should be an option called something like low battery alarm
Remember to save the changes before exiting the BIOS.

  • Find the replacement battery - "low battery alarm.

I'll have to re - use a PC that has a 'bad' C-drive for now was "butterfly of the night-balled" years, but at least it market, becuse of the XP Virus on my machine good 2012.  Man, is that what noise disc c, etc. etc.

Anyway, I was wondering, since I get a "low battery alarm" & the date resets to 4 January 1980 on every power-up, WHERE can I find a replacement battery (spare parts) for this old HP PC?

    the model is:
    HP-Compaq d530 5FF
    HP s/n 2UA41507CA
    p/n DG058A #ABA

Thank you & God Bless, jim

I don't know why you came on a Windows forum instead of going directly on the HP site, but what I've found, is that HP lists 3 different models with the d530 designation:

HP Compaq d530 Convertible Minitowers desktop PC

Small form factor HP Compaq d530 PC desktop

Desktop HP Compaq d530 slimline Desktop PC

Look at the pictures and decide what is yours.

You can download the "hardware reference Guide' for each page linked to above.

Guides for the first two describe the battery replaced and describe it as a "3-volt lithium button cell battery."  The guide for the 3rd model does not mention the battery, but I would be very surprised if it isn't exactly the same as the other two.

In all cases, the exact model of the battery is not shown.  This is very probably a CR2032, located practically in any pharmacy chain in the United States, including the CVS and Walgreens, as well as places like Radio Shack and, of course, online.

Download the manual of your computer, open it and find the battery.  The model number will be carved in relief in the surface of the battery.  If it does not say: CR2032 just search the net.  This is one of the many maps equivalent of battery: http://www.maxell.co.jp/e/products/materials/replacement_e.pdf

Note the number on your battery, and its equivalents in the table and visit your local pharmacy or the favorite online shopping site.

  • Slatebook x 2-problem of battery alarm and shutdown

Hello, I have Slatebook new x 2 and I have a problem. When the battery becomes low, then I receive an alert and it stops immediately. In fact, it stops and I see the alarm behind the closing down of the dialog window, while it stops. There is no chance to save the work or anything. It is very annoying. It behaves no matter if the dock is connected or not.

I also use the Android phone. There are two battery alarms, low and critical battery level. None of these alarms will automatically stop. There is still time to use the device for a period of time, for example to make several calls or record the work after the critical alarm.

What is the problem with the unit? Is it possible to configure alerts and actions?

    My problem is finally solved!

The initial communication with HP was really bad. As Sparkles1 discovered, HP is responsible for all of the product. Also, I found no one else having this problem while it was more probably on my unit that the general problem of hardware or software.

My second attempt to handle this with the support of HP was good. Although they were asked to do measures that have already been made. At the end, me to solve this problem by contacting HP support directly or through close HP authorized service partner available. I contacted directly taken in charge of HP. A Messenger came to the tablet. After several days (pretty fast), mail is returned with the repaired unit. The unit is the same. They replaced a called party of hinge LCD. I tested the behavior of the system twice and he performed well.

  • Qosmio G30 - where is the alarm battery under Vista?

Where is the battery alarm on vista? I really liked the toshiba power saver because she warned by a beep loud when my battery fell to 2%

I can't install toshiba power saver because it is replaced by panoramas energy saving...

    Hello

You cannot install the Toshiba power saver because Toshiba didn't conceive the Toshiba for Vista energy saver.
Vista energy saver supports several options and tell the truth, the Vista energy saver looks a bit like the Toshiba power saver.
    What do you think???

Check the control panel and power options. There are various settings that can be configured.

  • Satellite X 200-20 years do not go into hibernation mode when the battery is 2%

    Hi all

I just received my X 200 brand-new and very shiney and went through the normal procedures of change in VISTA power management settings, but I can't seem to enter the State of hibernation automatically. I have it configured such as a battery alarm critical (to 2%), the laptop should automatically enter Hibernation State save my data and downtime.

Unfortunately, this does not happen and he died right after that the battery level has dropped below the 2% limit. On re - boot (with power supply) VITSA tells me it has not been closed correctly. You don't say! :-)

I have configured laptops before using XP and have not had any problems. I know that VISTA it has many more options to set up and wonder if I'm missing something. I checked the help files for the VISTA and I seem to do the right thing.

I really would prefer to use Hibernate instead of sleep, but simply can't get to do on a critical battery level.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

Hmm normally, it should be possible to set Vista power options to hibernate if the battery reaches a critical level.
I think you should try to reconfigure the settings.

Check the hibernation of different battery level. For example, you can set the level of hibernation at 10%. Please don t forget to apply settings ;)

By the way; I recommend to check the BIOS settings too.

  • Satellite L500-14Z starts to beep when it reaches 10% of battery

    Greetings,

As I installed the sound card driver on my laptop, it always starts to beep when it reaches 10% battery in every 10 seconds. It is not a voice of Windows, but I tried to look for the sound controls and even the BIOS to disable this thing. It may be useful in some cases, but I really want to get rid of him or to use only if the screen is off and I do not see the level of battery charge.

Overall, the question is, how do I disable or control the sound signal after the 10% battery level without uninstall the Realtek audio driver?

    Yours Sincerely,

    Fifty

    Hello

    You can disable it in:
Start > Control Panel > Sound

There, click the sounds tab in sound properties

Choose in the small window called sound and critical battery alarm choose no sound.

Apply the changes and restart the laptop.

  • Satellite P300-161: alarm low and criticism not fire

    Hello.

I just bought a Satellite P300-161 with Vista and every time alarm if there is only a pop-up notification at the low or critical level, you but no sound alarm. I checked the settings under "advanced power management" and "battery" and both have the value default to 'ON' for low and critical battery alarm.

I also made sure there is a noise linked to these events under 'Hardware and sound', 'System sounds' and "low battery alarm" and a criticism.

The default sounds are really sweet so I registered and chosen my sensors clean up but still no luck.

I did a search on google and apparently several people had the same problem. In addition to suggest to both look like the above parameters, some have said that it is a general problem with Vista that will be fixed with service pack 1. I already service Pack1 so that does not solve it.

The other thing that I found via google is that apparently Vista doesn't offer it through the message system, but makes it available for 3rd party software. It seems ridiculous that Toshiba withdrew its usefulness because of power management especially in Vista.

I wouldn't mind an alarm from the BIOS, but looking at the settings, I couldn't find all the options. I can only note a pop up and if I play music or something, I have completely run out and the computer into hibernation which is really annoying.

I would be grateful if anyone has any suggetions on how to solve the problem.

    Alfonso.

Open the Volume mixer and make sure that Windows sound option is not set to mute.

  • Satellite A500 - battery low noise-how can I turn this annoying its judgment?

    Hello world

I recently had the fantastic A500-1GL which was great... all out of this really irritating noise that occurs when the battery is less than 10%.
I have already disabled the warning sounds in:

Hardware and Sound - System change sounds - sounds - warning low battery alarm and critical battery level.

Two of these sounds are different from that which is me crazy Drivin'. Its a very basic system beep and plays every 10 seconds or more. I NEED to know how to disable this feature because it drives me crazy! I can lower the sound, but having ovious disavatages!

    Can someone help me please?

    Thank you
    Mike

Please enter the advanced power settings and check battery options here.
Change settings for low and critical battery level (lower level fixed) and also check the battery notification low option. Here you can disable.

  • Satellite P10 - 792 lock ups / crashes and battery

I used my P10 792 even since I bought it 3 years ago. S there was a decreasing battery box that appears on my screen (sometimes) say I should replace the badly inserted battery and restart my computer. If there is also a problem mouse touch pad. He touchpad doesn't respond well to orders while he was trying to move the pointer.

The battery alarm message usually comes with the dysfunction of the touchpad. I have to press ESC to restore the touchpad back to normality and close the application of process Btrychkr.exe under the menu CTRL + ALT + DELETE to make the gibbous Moon box to disappear.

But the main and most recently problem are blockages, especially when running programs that require a video grand advanced such as 3D games and DVDs. The screen freezes for several seconds, and then he comes back to life. This is sometimes followed by a sudden stop down.

Finally, when I try to turn it on, it doesn't even get to loading windows before it stops again, and so on. So I have to wait several minutes before pushing on the button again. Now, we have reached a critical situation where the computer won t last more than 10 minutes before its shutdown automatically without notice. There is no error message so I don't see what is the cause of the problem. (Battery? Overheating?)

It is also important to note that one of my friends with a series of P10 also had these same problems and finally had to buy a new one because the laptop has been just the hand. I fear me comes with the same situation of m.

How can I solve this problem?
I would really appreciate the help.
    Thank you

    Hello

You you use laptop for 3 years. You replace the battery during this 3 years?
Isn't it? I think it would be a good idea to replace the battery.
Usually after about 500 times of loading and unloading procedures the performance of the battery goes down and the life time decreases

Additional during those 3 years, the laptop needs to be cleaned. Fans suck dirt and dust and sometimes cooling modules cannot turn with maximum performance and can not cool the CPU and other devices.
Of course, the overheating could be a reason for your shutdown problems

Looks like you haven t much experience so I think someone with more experience (technician) is recommended to clean the notebooks cooling modules

  • Satellite L500 - 1 7 battery problem

    Hi all

I recently bought a new laptop, the Satellite L500 - 1 7. It works well except that I have a question: I am aware of the fact, that the battery lasts about 2-2, 5 hours. But is it normal to make the computer stop when the sign of the battery watch 22% (happens after about 2.25 hours)? Then, as soon as I put in the power cable, the battery sign indicates suddenly 5%.
Is - this usual or something wrong?

    Thanks in advance.

At first, I must say that 2.5 hours working time on battery power is really great and it is the same with my Satellite A300.

To be honest, the whole story is a bit strange to me. Usually before the laptop shuts you should hear and see battery alarm when the critical power level is reached.
Please try to change these settings in the advanced power settings and watch what is happening exactly. Set it to 10 or 15% and also the settings what should happen when the critical threshold is reached (Standby/Hibernate / OFF switching).

If the critical level is 5%, I can't imagine the laptop turns off 22% without this battery alarm message.
How do you know that's going to happen on 22% when the laptop turns off suddenly?

  • Battery suddenly falls about 20%

    Hello

3 months ago I bought a Z500, but after a few days, the battery started down whenever he reaches around 20%.sometimes that he climbed 6 percent and critical battery alarm, other times it right hybernated away.but full load to 20% battery life was normal.

I went to the support and they changed the battery two times and also updated my bios but that does not solve the problem so I called for a new laptop, I paid for the difference in price and bought a Y510p, but now, after 20 days, I have exactly the same problem with this new laptop. I'm confused and angry right now.what is bad?

I got a picture of when the problem occurred and the laptop BatteryMon is off.the all the time I've been watching movies or surfing the internet.

In fact, it happens when I don't use the laptop on battery when it is plugged.

I ' v been load from another outlet for a while now and for the last two days, the problem does not appear. I don't know what the relationship is, but I geuss something wrong with the power outlet in my room.

I'll post again if it is.
