UAC message "do you want to allow the program following an unknown Publisher to make changes to your computer?

I have read many reviews of Microsoft on the UAC, but they don't give practical information.   I'm always intrigued by it.

I have a (crimson edit) text editor which gives this message when it starts.   My answer is Yes.

-Why this response is not recorded so that it does not ask me the same question whenever I run the program?

-If you think that this program is from an "Unknown Publisher", why you have not provided a way for me to tell you who is the Publisher?

I can't have UAC active if he'll ask me whenever I run my text editor.   You explanations so far do not get to the real issue.

There is a long story for why it is, but the short answer is:

This occurs when unknown programs try (unsigned) write data to files protected system or the registry settings and UAC asks your permission.  This type of activity could be dangerous at any time, so he invites every time.

To solve these problems is to uninstall the program, and then install it somewhere other than the Program Files folder or the top of drive C:... somewhere like your user folder would make perfect.  Then the program can run in the default security context and still access write itself (its own records), which is the usual culprit.

    This can help you, because these are a few reasons for problems with SR:

    1. If you are using Norton, you should disable Norton inviolable Protection before using the system restore.

    Hello

    This message appears when the application doesn't have an authority root certificate. These types of notifications can be disabled from user account control settings.
    [1] method: Using Control Panel to change UAC settings
    CAUTION: Turn off UAC is NOT recommended
    • On the start menu, select Control Panel
    • Go to system and security > Action Center
    • In the left pane, select change user account control settings
    • Drag the button scroll never notify
    • Click OK to save your settings
    OPINIONS: UAC can avoid potentially dangerous applications to make changes on your computer. Disable UAC would disable the feature for all programs and not for a specific special application.

  • How to stop the pop up message: do you want to add the _ directory to your search path?

    After you install LabVIEW 8.6.1f1 on a new PC, every time I choose one of my screws via her select a VI... palette, I get a pop up message saying: ' you want to add the "P:\CWalker\COREYs LabVIEW subs projects\Phoenix" directory to your search path?

    I've already added 'LabVIEW P:\CWalker\COREYs subs projects\Phoenix' in the option search for VI and restarted path LabVIEW, but the message does not appear.

    Yes, this is how I added the directory.

    Since then, I managed to stop the pop-up message.

    Of course, I had deleted some of the default values, such as "-*" of the VI option search path and that caused the popup message.

    Thank you!

    I started to use Windows Mail a few months ago and have had no problems so far, since Thursday night, every time that I attach a file to an e-mail message when I click on send this message 'some files was not found and could not be attached to the message. Hello

    Method 1:
    You can perform the steps of troubleshooting from the link:

    Method 2:
    You can check if the default e-mail program is selected, follow the steps to do this:
    a. go to: Control Panel and go to default programs. Select Configure programs and Computer Defaults b. Select continues if the permissions window will appear
    c. left, double-click Custom, under Choose a default e-mail program, select Windows Mail.
    d. click Ok and close.

    Method 3:
    If none of the above steps are useful, then try to perform the system restore to the date when it was working fine.

  • Get the message "do you want to save the changes you made?

    Hi all

    I activated the zoom for the standard form of profiles (applications developer) open a new custom form that is used to enter additional information for profiles.
    Two fields profile option id and the profile on the new form option name should get the value in the calling form. Based on these values the new form should show the custom intermediate table data if the record exists.
    If there is no data in this profile of the user must be able to enter information and create new record and commit to the DB table.
    If there is data in the file should be displayed and if the user updates of any field, you have to refresh the record in the DB table.
    I created two new parameters in the new profile_option_id and profile_option_name form which gets its value from the calling form through the custom.pll changes.
    Now, when the new form opens, I see the 2 default fields. But it pops up the message "do you want to save the changes you made?
    If I say no, then the data are displayed for the existing record. If I click Cancel, and then nothing happens.
    Please help me to understand the reason for the pop-up message when the form is opened.
    I changed only a TIME-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger to the new form.

    then
    set_block_property ('NAPP_USR_PRF_OPTIONS_TBL', DEFAULT_WHERE, 'profile_option_id =' |: parameter.profile_option_id |) "(ET profile_option_name = ''' ||: parameter.profile_option_name || ''');"

    : NAPP_USR_PRF_OPTIONS_TBL.profile_option_name: =: parameter.profile_option_name;
    end if;
    GO_BLOCK ('NAPP_USR_PRF_OPTIONS_TBL');
    execute_query();
    end;

    I use form 10g and DB version is 11.2.0.2.0

    Hi Olivier,.

    : NAPP_USR_PRF_OPTIONS_TBL.profile_option_id: =: parameter.profile_option_id;
    : NAPP_USR_PRF_OPTIONS_TBL.profile_option_name: =: parameter.profile_option_name;

    GO_BLOCK ('NAPP_USR_PRF_OPTIONS_TBL');
    execute_query();

    After having assigned the value in any field and then using exectue_query triggers the message.
    If option 1 is...
    If you need to assign then first use execute_query; then assign a value

    Option 2 is...
    Use commit_form and then use execute_query;

    I hope this helps...

  • Lately everytime I open firefox I get the window «do you want this program to make changes to your computer...» »

    Hello

    I would be so grateful to know how to fix t his, because it's really getting on my nerves.

    I have windows 7 pro 64 bit. I mostly always use firefox. Whenever i opened a new browser, I never got hit with the windows badge and "Do you want this program to make changes to your computer...." or something to that effect. YOu who have windows 7 know what I mean. Of course I click yes, but I NEVER had to do this before. I don't know what changed, what might have happened. I had to have help with some software unrelated to firefox and someone had remote work on my notebook, but he should not have changed browser settings. It is really irritating me to now end to always open the browser now and have to hear that annoying thing and the badge.

    My other browsers IE and chrome do not do this.

    How can I fix this? It was never the case before for years.

    Thank you thank you very much in advance. I can't use this browser if that's going to happen, he finds himself on my nerves.

    A possible cause of this message, it is that Firefox is configured to run as administrator.

    Make sure that Firefox is not set to run as administrator.
    Right click on the desktop Firefox shortcut and choose "Properties".
    Make sure that all items are disabled in the tab "Compatibility" in the Properties window.

    • Privilege level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
    • "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" must not be selected

    Also check the firefox.exe program properties in the program Firefox (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) folder.
    If you cannot make changes, and then start Windows Explorer as an administrator.

  • How can I stop "you want to allow Firefox to make changes to your computer?

    I started to download Firefox 4 and do not think that it has finished. 3.16.6 just downloaded again, but when I open Firefox it still says "do you want firefox to make changes to your computer. What I have to delete something and start again?
    Cheryl

    Check that you are not Firefox running as administrator.

    Right click on the desktop Firefox shortcut and choose "Properties".

    In the Compatibility tab, make sure that this level of privilege: "Run this program as an administrator" is not selected.

    You should also check the firefox.exe program properties in the Firefox program directory.

  • The program cannot start because MSVCR80.dll is missing on your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem.

    This came after I installed an iTunes update and wouldn't let me open iTunes.

    This comes first when I clicked to open iTunes:

    Then this happens after I crossed the first window that displays the above message.
    iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126).
    What does that mean? Why is he doing this? How can I solve this problem? I almost lost all my music, so can't do nothing about it, but why iTunes no longer works?

    Hello Geordie,

    This is probably due to a bad iTunes update. I recommend you to please refer to the http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/error-message-missing-msvcr80dll-when-trying-to/c8b05024-c4bc-4d14-87ef-4dcbb51c8c97?page=1&tm=1390761398091 thread and an update on the status of the issue.
