Unable to create a network of home computer

Previously, I had 3 computers in my house all connected to a Verizon modem/router hard.  I was able to set up a network so that each computer can 'see' the other 2 computers and access to the printer which has been connected to A computer.  Computers have the following operating systems:

Computer - Windows XP<--- >

Computer B - Windows Vista

Computer C - Windows Vista

I then replaced A computer with a new D computer with Windows 7.  Hard, the printer is connected to computer D.  The three computers I hard plugged to the Verizon modem/router are:

Computer D - Windows 7<--- >

Computer B - Windows Vista

Computer C - Windows Vista

I tried several times to set up a home network for these 3 computers without success.  Only computer D can access the printer;  Computers B and C may not even 'see' or 'find' the printer and use it even less.  D and B computers can "see" each other.  However, computers D and B cannot transfer files between them via "My computer" or "Windows Explorer".  There is an exception to this rule.  I have found computer can 'see' the 'Public' folder on computer B and transfer of files to and from it.

What measures should be taken for:

Computers, B, and C can 'find' and use the printer?

3 computers can each transfer of files to and from folders on the other 2 computers with "sharing" is enabled?

I want a solution that does NOT include the installation of Windows 7 on computers B and C.

Thank you.

I don't know if you have tried this... but anyway, if the next steps did not help, consider creating a public network (be sure that all your computers have the same working group).

1. go to the control network and Internet.
2. in the left bar, click change advanced sharing settings.
3 - Click on turn on file and printer sharing.
If the file and printer sharing is enabled already, try to change the settings for sharing your printer.

I recently started using Windows 7 x 64 and I'm unable to create a network with WPA2 - Enterprise Security profile.  I have a wireless card for Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG with 13.0.0.107 driver version.  I have had no trouble to create this network in Vista Ultimate x 86 profile, and I do not know what is causing the error.

Can I create a network on my Eee PC 1000 H Windows XP Home Edition user?

I'm assuming you're network connection to your XP Pro using the "Remote Desktop connection" machines...  If so, this can be done natively on a XP Home machine as XP Home does not support the remote desktop connection.  XP Home Edition also ensures a file sharing Simple for any user that connects to your computer would be able to authenticate the user "guest".

There may be other 3rd third-party programs that can allow you to do.

Are there opportunities for a fix or a link to an update that corrects this problem?

    Hi Finlay,

I understand that when you try to create a network location, you get an error.

The error message you get usually occurs when Windows try to check the subfolders of the parent and parent. If the parent folder is not configured for WebDAV, the connection attempt fails.

Please see the article below for more information:

  • Problems connecting to a Satellite Pro 4600 for network wireless home

    Hello
My computer has a processor Athlon 64 x 2 4200 + and 2 GB of RAM, with XP2 Pro. I have a Linksys WRT54GS broadband router and connected with Virgin Media.

My daughter gave me an old laptop a Satellite Pro 4600 with a 747 MHz Celeron processor, 384 MB of RAM and XP2 Pro has an Intel Pro/100 VE Network adapter. I set up a Linksys Wireless - G Notebook Adapter with SRX (model No. WPC45GX), so that I could use around the House. However when I try to connect to the home network, although he "finds" a list of networks, I am unable to connect and get an error message - "Windows cannot connect to the selected network (my home network). The network can be is no longer in range. Please refresh the list of available
    networks and try again. »

I tried to connect with laptop computer in the same room as the router, but get the same message. In the Manager of peripheral devices, network cards, the two are shown and both work properly, but in the taskbar there is a red cross shown on the two icons, they say that a network cable is unplugged, but I don't have a cable network.
The other tells me that the wireless is not connected.

I presume that the adapter works as it can 'see' wireless networks, I used Lynksys support to verify that all router and adapter settings are correct.
My wife has a new laptop and is able to connect to the home network with no problems.

Please can someone offer advice or assistance.

    GMC

for some reason, you need to turn off your wired connection (cable) and use the client of the PCMCIA wireless network card. Maybe just the problem that your system can not separate the two network connections and gets an error it s. You should also visit the site Web of Linksys and download the latest driver and the customer for the card, so you can make sure that the software is up to date.
