Unable to log on as a local user account

I'm having difficulty to create a non-root on my ESXi servers user ID

I can create user names, but the server still rejects my credentials by saying: I don't have permissions to connect to the server?

What I'm missing here?

  • Mirage Management Server installation 5.1 - "unable to validate the permissions for this user account.

I'm installing Horizon Mirage 5.1 server on a Windows Server 2012 R2 VM management. The SQL is located on a Server R2 VM with SQL 2012 2012. We have created a Mirage service account that has permissions of db_creator on the SQL Server. When we run the installation wizard we get the "unable to validate the permissions for this user account. Unable to connect to the database. The control server name, the name and server instance parameters"error message. We tried to make the local admin of the SQL server service account and the Mirage Mgmt server. We tried you identifying as service account and by running Setup in this way. Windows Firewall is disabled on both virtual machines. When we enter the SQL Server name and the instance use < servername > without an instance because it is an unnamed instance. Does anyone have other ideas? Cannot find much out there for KB articles. I'll open evidence of the support if it takes too long to understand.

The service account, we created had a "database default" set in SQL. We chose the database and he continued as planned.

  • Local user account

Hi, on a new computer a local user account has been created and loaded with personal folders.

Two weeks later, another user account was created with an address of the user online.

The first user account was deleted with its countain.

Is it possible to recover the deleted account?

    Thank you

Not sure if the system restore can restore a user account, but worth a try if you have a restore point before the account was deleted.

  • Is any impact of a change of the password of the local user account on an instance of a content server Cisco TelePresence virtual computer?

    Hello

I'm looking to see if there is an impact to change the password of the local user account on an instance of a content server Cisco TelePresence virtual machine?

The software version is v6.2 build 4073.

    Thank you in advance,

    Robert

I'll assume, you are referring to the administrator account, but it can be applied to any local account which is located on the TCS server itself.  It has no impact to change the password, unless you are using doesn't say account to connect to the server of TCS or web interface, it will not affect the application of TCS as most things such as external storage or clustering rely on domain accounts and not the local server.

  • Determine if local user accounts are still on the PC connected to the domain

    Greetings,

I tried to perform the basic research for this question: how is local user accounts are still on the PC connected to a domain.  I tried to use the MBSA tool, but it does not have what I ask.  In addition, our Organization is not in using scripts or VB code.  Are there other tools that can help meet this demand?

    Hello

  • A local user account can be used with VMware View?

I have a bit of a unique situation.  I virtualized PC (off the field) which is basically a controller or a big machine.  To run the software from the vendor, the local user account is required.

Unfortunately, it doesn't allow a local user account to add to the display manager.  Am I missing something, or is it just not possible?

    Thank you!

As said Mark, you can disable Single Sign-on on the desktop so that after you authenticate to view (it must be a domain user) you can then enter any identifying information that you have on the desktop itself.

Policy details are in 5.1 Administrator's Guide Page 163 views and politics is titled AllowSingleSignon:

    http://pubs.VMware.com/view-51/topic/com.VMware.ICbase/PDF/view-51-administration.PDF

You will be able also a step further. After that you disabled SSO on the desktop, you can configure kiosk in view mode that the client used to connect to this desktop computer (if you are using only a single customer) would link up to this office automatically and then the user would simply see the Windows login prompt and be able to authenticate locally.

  • Using a zero client to log on as a local user

I have a machine that has a very specific software package on the subject. It works only if you log on as a local administrator, nothing else, and it hangs right outside. What I have to do is to have my login customer zero (Wyse P20) to the virtual machine and then ask to connect to the local computer. I did find all the settings on the Wyse p20 that would allow me to change that and I hope there is some way in vCenter and view to set up this connection, so I can connect to the virtual machine as a local user and not as a domain user. I tried to find a Vcenter or the settings SSO and disable that but with no hope in sight. The Wyse does not have this option.

    Thank you!

    Eric

Sorry, I shouldn't have been so vague in my previous post. If you create a new GPO and then import the file vdm_agent.adm to your connection to the server, it will open some parameters that can be modified. By default, adm files are in the \VMware\VMware View\Server\extras\GroupPolicyFiles directory {install_directory}. This is where the two settings that I mentioned earlier. If the GPO that you created does not apply to virtual machines with the view on which Agent is installed, you can try the gpupdate/force to update. But, as I said earlier, this will not work if the virtual machines are set to refresh on logoff. I hope that some more logic. Chapter 8 Administration Guide VMware View is also much more information on the application of policies.

  • My computer isn't letting me log on to my other user accounts.

The main login screen is completely different. Now it is only a small window with my moms user account name and a space for a password. I have no possibility to change account.

I did nothing to my computer in a week. I have connected a couple times on my moms account so it is connected for some time. When it was first locked, it is an administrator account. I could go and watch my other accounts, but there was no way to logon. Unfortunately, I thought that if I changed my moms for a limited account account, that it would change to the normal login screen. There can be no. It's always the same small window and it connects only to my mother. Although this time, I am unable to view my other accounts. It seems that there is only one account on my computer so I can only show my moms.
This is getting very frustrating. I have no idea what to do and I have not seen any other problem like mine. My computer is not locked or anything... it shows only one account. My documents are on my user account (which is an administrator). I have my music (itunes) and other important things. I really hope that I'm not all that or I really hope that I have not already lost. I honestly have no idea what to do. So please reply and help me with this. I need to get on my account.
Not sure if this will help, but my computer is a Dell and it's an Inspiron 1525.
    Please answer.

  • local user accounts window

whenever I press the button start a pop-up automatically.  The window is a window of user accouts Control Panel.  I don't know in any case to prevent it from poping up almost everytime I open the start menu.  any help would be appreciated.

Finally, I got the problem solved.  As the Big Fix program has not resolved the problem, I decided to go and uninstall programs that I felt were unnecessary.  Although this has not resolved the problem that it eventually the Elimination of some programs in my Start menu.  After this happened, the popup stopped happening.  I tried to locate another program to the start menu and when I did the pop-up has started to happen again.  When I went back and to release the program pop up stopped again.  I realized that it wasn't the program pinned to the start menu, but rather the total number of programs pinned to the start menu.  I now have a maximum of 7 programs pinned to the menu star.  If I have any more pin control panel user accounts is displayed whenever I click on the start menu.  This completely solves the sean problem

  • Securing a Windows 8 computer with a local user account

In the past I helped my family to protect against involuntary malware by creating two accounts on their machines. One is a standard user that they use to do all the normal things, including surfing the internet. The second is an administrator account, so that they are very intentional on when a program is installed or the registry is changed. It worked well to avoid unwanted malicious software installations.

I have a question about Windows 8/8.1. Can I create a Local account that is the administrator and change the normal Microsoft account that is associated with their e-mail as a standard user?

What problems they will encounter if the Admin account is local? I hate that they have to set up another email address just to get an another Microsoft Account, so it can be the administrator.

On Windows 8/8.1 that work even as he has in the past? That is, when they want to do something that requires administrator privileges that they will be asked to provide the Admin password?

    Thank you

    Alice

I hope that I was able to understand your question.

Your family doesn't meet problems. You can change their standard account for everyday use as a Microsoft account so their personal data can be synchronized/backupable with Microsoft cloud player. Already, you need not put their Admin account as a Microsoft account. Everything is the same with Vista and 7.

I mean with their personal data:

    (1) C:\Users\Alice'sFamilyAdminAccount

2.) record of C:\Users\Alice'sFamilyDailyAccount (their history of the web browser, Favorites, desktop theme, wallpaper, documents, photos, music) this folder can be synchronized over the Internet if change you as a Microsoft account.

  • Add the name of the server during the registration of the local user accounts

It should be easy, and maybe I'm looking at the screen for too long today? I'll put up a script automated to run once a month that looks like everything just and the local accounts on each host and sends the output to a file. I use Get-Vmhost |  foreach {get - viaccount}, which generates code and language of each user on each host attached to my vCenter but it just runs them all together. I need to enter the name of the server where each of them so I know what a host ID belongs to?

The VIAccount object that is returned by Get-VIAccount, has more properties, including the Server property.

From there, you should be able to extract the name of the server.

Note that you must be connected to the ESXi server to retrieve local accounts of the ESXi server.

Otherwise, you will get the vCenter accounts
