Unable to perform an incremental backup

I am trying to perform an incremental backup.  I have an old full backup and I did another full backup yesterday.  The last full backup was successful.

When I try to load the full backup for the gradual process, 13 items will just a State does not.  I tried several times with two backups and her resut is always the same.

I don't see too many questions like that.

Solutions or causes?

Thank you

Weird.  Tried to backup full and a differential still at night last with the largest catalog.  Alll worked well this time.

  • How to set an incremental backup in windows 7 x 64

My question is simple and clear all of you, I have a windows 7 x 64 Professional Edition installed in my pc. and today I try to define backup an incremental backup in windows 7, but I cannot discover the incremental backup feature he have only one type of backup, but I don't know he is a backup is incremental or a normal backup. I think that windows 7 is not provide 5 types of backup that is providing windows xp or windows 2003 R2. send a link please if any third party software should provide any incremental backup feature.

    Hello

In Windows 7, there is no option to set the incremental backup. However, when you select files and schedule a backup, it automatically performs an incremental backup in the background.

Time machine is unable to perform a backup. Not able to access the sparsebundle. First of all, there is problem with the Snow Leopard operating system. Dragon followed in the upgrade to El Capitan. Only difference was error code 109 changed to 'null '. What about someone?

    We need some info.

You can access from the finder Time Capsule? If this isn't the case, then Time Machine will not work.

You upgrade the computer snow to El Capo and keep the same name?

If you want to backup, it is best to start again... clean the new backup any attempt to add a previous backup failed.

I recommend that you actually erase the TC... do a complete factory reset and start again.

The previous backup if necessary can be archived on a USB drive connected to the TC assuming that Airport utility can still access it. Airport utility accesses the TC?

With update installs all sorts of things can go wrong... so tell me more if you can not get anywhere.

Please, back up all data. If you have iCloud calendars, archive them by following the instructions on this page under the heading "download a calendar of iCloud.com." all you need is a web browser, not the calendar application. Do the same with the other calendars of network you have, if possible.

Before taking each of these steps, quit (leave by force if necessary) application. After taking stage, recovery and test. When the problem is solved (or when you have completed step 3 without resolving), stop and close the library folder.

    Step 1

Hold down the option key and select

    Go ▹ library

in the Finder menu bar. In the folder that opens, move these items (some may not exist) to the trash, leaving the open library folder:

    Calendars/calendar Cache

    Calendars/calendar Cache-shm

    Calendars/calendar Cache-wal

    Step 2

Move these files to the library folder on the desktop (even once, some cannot exist):

Containers/com.apple.CalendarAgent (and all others with a start of name in 'com.apple.Calendar')

Containers/com.apple.iCal (and all others with a name in 'com.apple.iCal' beginning)

    Preferences/com.apple.CalendarAgent.plist

    Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist

If the problem is resolved, you may be able to put some of the items you have moved in this stage, recovery and testing after each of them. Finally, you can find the one that caused the problem; Delete it. Re-create your settings if necessary.

If the problem is not yet solved, put back to each of the points you have moved in this step, crushing the that may have been created in its place. Do not put the files that you moved in step 1.

    Step 3

Move this folder on the desktop:

    Calendars

Note: you do not move the application to calendars; you move a folder named "calendars". If there is no change, put the folder back where he was.

If the problem is resolved after you move the calendars folder, the event database is corrupted. You have these choices:

Restore the snapshot folder Time Machine or another backup prior to corruption.

Use a third party application like "Calendar cleaner" (not tested by me) to try to repair the database.

For the calendar network accounts, such as iCloud, all you need to do is re-enter the preferences. For subscribed calendars, simply re - subscribe.

  • Unable to perform the backup after changing the password for SYS

Hello everyone, I'm getting the "unable to perform the backup because the database is closed" error after performing a backup scheduled on the database. The database is clearly open, already tried rebooting the database/system, but without success. This is probably related to the very recent change of password for SYS. As we changed it, we were able to run the backup... Can I ren hollow backupset backup RMAN command, but without success with Enterprise Manager.

Does anyone have an idea? Thank you!

    ATT,

    Gabriel.

Have you updated the password in addition to credentials on the OEM... Otherwise, please update and try again.

  • Incremental backups does not

Hi, I have always used backups RMAN and tested and restored several times without problem.

IM now playing with incremental backups and seem to get confused.

I ran a level 0 backup, then a level 1 backup and then deleted some db files and restored my database very well. However when I sailed on the recovery, I expected to pick up the level 1 backup during recovery. Instead he just used logs archived. I thought well, it will be used the newspapers archived on the level 1 backup if both were available.

In any case, I decided to test this. Yet once, I ran a level 0 backup. I then changed my recovery logs and then remove all logs archiving (obvisously recovery would be impossible at the moment). I then ran a level 1 backup I thought would recovery possible and switched it again connects again create logs to archive more.

Then, I removed some db files and tried to restore and recover the database. I expect to restore the database of the level 0 backup (which is), and then as I deleted logs archiving between the 0 and 1 level backup, I expect to use the level 1 backup and then use the remaining archivelogs after that.

However, RMAN has reported the following:

RMAN-06053: unable to perform the recovery of the media because of the missing journal

RMAN-06025: no log backup archived for thread 1 with sequence 335 and startin

g 7283154681366 SNA found to restore

    What is going on?

    Thank you very much

    Adam

    > I then removed some db files and tried to restore and recover the database

You use a recovery catalog schema which would be "in the loop" of all L1 backups, archivelog and L0?  If you use a controlfile, you restore the backup of the controfile?  What backup controlfile restore you?  You need the controlfile is from a point after the backup of the L1 while it would be "in the loop" of the backup of the L1.

  • Slow windows Server2008 no incremental backup?

Hi I am trying to get a Windows 2008 R2 server backup to work at an acceptable level.

Functioning as a virtual guest operating system assigned to 4 cores and 10 GB RAM.

I want to save my 155 GB of files on a connected USB drive.

I plan to run a backup, and it takes about 10 hours to complete!

When the next calendar ran I expected to back up only the files that have changed...

However, it seems to run a full backup once more as her about 10 hours to complete...

does not the incremental backups or something?

I tried to change the performance setting that indicates that it would be only for backup files that have been changed...

    has not made a difference.

The Task Manager does not display to the test server...

    any ideas?

  • Backup Windows XP does not seem to be clear the attribute archive when you perform a normal backup.

Backup Windows XP does not seem to be clear the attribute archive when you perform a normal backup.

I do a backup of the 'Normal' at the beginning of the month.  Then, at the end of the first week, I do a "Differential" backup (using the same "backup job" but change to type "Incremental".)

Well the difference is huge and to study, I see that a lot of files that I don't know that I didn't take the week since the 'Normal' backup have the Archive attribute set.

Is the 'Normal' compensation not the bit mode backup of archive?  Another thing would be randomly set the attributes to archive?  Is there a ghost in the machine?  Inquiring minds want to know.

    Hello

Differential backup marks files as having been backed up (in other words, archive attribute is not cleared). This is normal.

  • Roll forward standby database with the incremental backup, when a data file is deleted in primary education

    Hello

I'm nologging operations + deleting some files in the primary and you want to roll forward the day before using the incremental backup Yvert.

I do in particular, as the files are dropped?

I got to meet ( Doc ID 1531031.1 ) which explains how to roll forward when a data file is added.

If I follow the same steps, to make the move to restore the data file newly added, will it work in my case?

    Can someone please clarify?

    Thank you

    San

I was wondering if reocover noredo is performed before restored controlfile, oracle will apply the incremental backup error-free files, and in this case, what would be the status of the data file in the control file.

Why do you consider to retrieve the day before first and then in the restaurant of the controlfile will lead to problems. Please read my first post on this thread - I had clearly mentioned that you would not face problems if you go with the method of deployment.

Here is a demo for you with force logging is disabled. For the first time the day before resuming and restored then the controlfile ensures:

    Primary: oraprim

    Standby: orastb

Tablespace DataFile of MYTS is removed on primary:

SYS @ oraprim > select force_logging in the database of v$.

    FORCE_LOGGING

Currently the tablespace is to have 2 data files.

    SYS @ oraprim > select file_name in dba_data_files where nom_tablespace = 'MYTS;

    -------------------------------------------------------

    /U01/app/Oracle/oradata/oraprim/myts01.dbf

    /U01/app/Oracle/oradata/oraprim/myts02.dbf

In standby mode, the tablespace is to have 2 data files:

    SYS @ orastb > select name from v$ datafile where ts #= 6;

    NAME

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    /U01/app/Oracle/oradata/orastb/myts01.dbf

    /U01/app/Oracle/oradata/orastb/myts02.dbf

    SYS @ oraprim > alter system set log_archive_dest_state_3 = delay;

    Modified system.

Dropped 1 MYTS datafile on the primary.

    SYS @ oraprim > alter tablespace myts drop datafile ' / u01/app/oracle/oradata/oraprim/myts02.dbf';

    Tablespace altered.

Removed some archives to create a space.

Hope that gives you a clear picture. You can use this to roll forward day before using the SNA roll forward Eve physical database using RMAN incremental backup | Shivananda Rao

    -Jonathan Rolland

  • Before physical deployment standby with RMAN incremental backups.

This method is available in 10g:

    http://Web.Stanford.edu/dept/ITSS/docs/Oracle/10gR2/server.102/b14239/scenarios.htm#CIHIAADC

    For 11g:

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/server.112/e41134/RMAN.htm#SBYDB00759

    For 12 c:

    http://docs.Oracle.com/database/121/BRADV/rcmadvre.htm#BRADV685

According to dosc 10 g, the scenario is simple:

    1. create an incremental backup to SNA required on primary and copy it in standby mode

2 save the backup in sleep mode and perform a recovery

11 g dosc, we must recreate the standby control file and update the file names before performing the recovery.

12 c introduces the new method - recovery on network, but again, we must recreate and standby control file update.

The question is: why we must create new controlfile ensures g 11 and 12 c and can we use a simple method of 10g?

    Thank you.

    Hello

1 why the incremental backup application does not update standby controlfile?

-Your database pending is be retrieved using the incremental backup. This does not update the eve controlfile. Your standby controlfile completely ignores the last CNS to the primary database.

    2. what happens if we leave the old standby controlfile? RFS will record new logs of the primary, but will ignore them MRP? If so, can update us standby controlfile by manually applying the following log?

-Your old standby controlfile is unaware of the last CNS to the primary database.

As Mseberg said, trying things on a test computer and you will have the answers to your questions.

    Kind regards

    Shivananda

  • STRATEGY OF RETENTION and incremental backups.

    Consider the following scenario.

    Sunday: level 0
    Monday: level 1
    Tuesday: level 1
    Wednesday: level 1 cumulative

If we make the recovery Friday, rman uses Level0, last level 1 and all logs after him. All other newspapers and incremental backups are not necessary.

Now assume that the retention policy is window of recovery of 1 or 2 days. RMAN will review these logs and backups as obsolete Friday?

Obsolete backups - backups are performed before the last full backup that is not obsolete. Because level 1 is not full backup, rman will retain all of the incremental backups and archive logs that are created after the 0 level.

  • Incremental backup

    Hello

I have a problem with incremental backups RMAN level 1 "too big (50-75% of the total DB dimensions, including the archive logs).

Attempted to change the cumulative incr to differential backups to limit the data to back up.

So, I would like to confirm that I actually run differential backups and not be combined during the days of the week.

Anyone have a query which can check the type of backup that I used?

It s an OLTP database running Oracle 11.2.

Sorry for not adding the view all and everything but I m at home after working hours, try to understand this.

    See you soon

    Hello

User RMAN must use a name in the 'format' or 'tag' option or two to show

type of backup was made.  For example:

    database backup incremental level 0 format 'c:\temp\diff_incr_zero_%U.bak ';

    or

    database backup incremental level 0 tag diff_incr_zero;

Without the tag, or format clauses specifying the type of backup performed.

It is not possible to use the RMAN list or any point of view RMAN command to determine

the difference of these two types of backups.

    Thank you
