Unable to start my laptop

Hello!

I have a huge problem, and I would be grateful if someone could help me please.

I was afraid that I had a virus on my laptop, so I installed Avast!. He successfully installed and asked me if I wanted to analyze the computer on the next boot. I agree to it, and the computer restarts automatically, scanning of disks, as expected. When he finished, a message popped up that there was a mistake in the log - in procedure and the screen went black. I can't restart since then.

The small bulb, which indicates that the computer is lights up whenever I press the power button, but nothing happens. The screen is always black. When I press the power button once again, the light changes to orange as if she was napping or something.
What should I do? It's a brand new computer, so it cannot end like this!

Help, please!

THX

Hello

Maybe you could post the exact model of notebook you?
Have you tried to reinstall the OS using the Toshiba recovery disc or HARD drive recovery option?

Otherwise, try it!
Of course this would format the whole HARD drive that would kill the virus too

    Hi Drtonk,

I understand that you have a problem with the laptop won't start not passed the Windows logo. You can follow this link to perform a hard reset

Please note disconnect any external devices to devices such as USB, external displays storage devices and printers.

You could try a System Restore when Windows 7 cannot start normally

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

  • Unable to start my laptop Satellite Pro - orange flashing

I can't boot my laptop Satellite Pro.
I have an orange light flashes. I tried to remove the battery and hold the power button, but it did not work...

    Help

    I agree with Liam.
The indicator flashes as a serious hardware problem was detected.
What you could do is remove the RAM modules and test the device with the new test modules but I guess that is not RAM problem but something wrong with the motherboard.

  • Unable to start my laptop Toshiba

Basically, later yesterday my computer froze so I decided to plant it. I turned the computer back on but I can't actually back into the computer that I start, then a black page appears telling me that the computer could not initialize correctly.

I am presented with several options. I can't get into Safe Mode or start Windows normally.
However, Safe Mode does not work, I have a page with errors in all directions.

When I try to start Windows normally Windows XP logo appears and everything seems normal, until a blue screen appears quickly and then goes almost immediately, then Im back to the original page that explains that the computer failed to boot normally.

I need serious help. I'm only 17, and not a computer expert!

Why you n t take a Toshiba recovery disc and reinstall the OS again?
But the recovery procedure would format the whole HARD drive and you will lose the files stored on the HARD drive.

But according to your message did not help to boot into windows XP
To my eyes there so no other solution as a new OS install

  • Satellite P15-S420: unable to start Windows XP

I hope that all makes sense... I'm unable to start after the start page of Windows XP. I think I have assumed that the computer turn off when there is no. The battery may have exhausted and when I plugged it back in and tried to start it would not.

When the Windows start page is in place, it seems that HD works for awhile, but stops and goes no further. I am able to boot in safe mode and have tried to restore with no effect. When I click on Toshiba Manager of power supply in the control panel I get "Policy of NoteBook Load Fail" this could be a problem.

    What do you think???
    Oh, I have a Satellite P15-S420.

    Hello

In my opinion, this power saver error message occurs because you started the laptop in safe mode. In this case, the OS doesn't use the Toshiba drivers that are required for the use of additional applications.
You write about the restore procedure. Have you tried to install the laptop with the supplied restore CD? If this isn't the case, then try it.

Access your product download page and reinstall the software for bluetooth under networks:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?OS=2093 & LC = on & DLC = in & CC = US & Product = 3716846 & lang = in

then, under network connections in the network and sharing window - see if you have a bluetooth adapter that is listed.  If you do not use bluetooth, you can turn it off or you should be able to set it up properly.

If fails it then in Control Panel, under administrative tools, Services - locate service BTtray and disable it.

  • Unable to start up normally, or any feature of safe mode

I am unable to start up normally, and I'm unable to boot in safe mode functions.

When it does not start normally, I get on the desktop with ICONS No. nor START BUTTON.

I am operating Windows XP SP2 on a Dell Latitude D610 (Laptop).  "Cannot open Volume for Direct access.

I need advice on that.  Help, please!

We got a lot of insight.

First, you need to get your work desk in order to have room for manoeuvre, then you can solve your problem of potential malware.

What you describe is a situation where the process explorer.exe does not work (probably due to malware).  Think the explorer.exe process IS your desktop... then you must start it manually for now.  If it does not, you will have only wallpaper.

Of your background image, press CTRL-ALT-DEL and open Task Manager.

Look at the processes tab and if the process explorer.exe is not running, start it as follows:

In Task Manager, click file, new task, and in the Open box, enter:

    %windir%\explorer.exe

Click OK and see if get you your office.

So if you are able to get into the Internet, follow these steps:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

Restart and see what things look like.

That alone cannot resolve, but if all goes well with the deleted malware, then PaulAuckNZ can help to mop up any problems.
