Unable to view files in a folder in the Start Menu

Recently cleaned a virus on my computer. Now, all the folders in the start menu appear empty. I know that the beginning is in documents and settings, all users. When I try to view the files in her lying to start on another computer on the network from this computer they appear as empty. When I check the folder to start the other computer I can see all the files. What keeps me to see the files in the startup on the infected computer folder before. I can see the files in all folders except those in Documents and Settings.

Hi Steve9nan,

  1. You have security software installed on the computer?
  2. You are able to view the programs installed on the computer from the start menu?

Method 1

First check and make sure that the computer is free from any type of infections.

    Hi mate

I assume you are using Win7. Right?

Cannot rename files (programs) that appear in the Start Menu.

    You can ONLY rename folders.
If you click on all programs, then you should also see some folders there.
Right click on the folder and you should see the option rename.
Choose this option and then you should be able to rename the folder

  • I lost my games folder in the all programs folder in the start menu, how can I replace it (Win 7 Pro)

If I remember correctly, I was playing solitaire spider on this computer about 1 year ago, but now I can't find the Games folder in the start menu. In the past, the record of the games was still installed automactically when I installed the operating system. Can it be restored or installed from a stand alone facility?

    Thank you

    Frank

When you go to start, type spider and see if it lists the game.  Otherwise, type appwiz.cpl and press ENTER.  Then click Add windows components, and then check out the games.  Sometimes, on Windows 7 Pro, they are disabled.

  • Two problems: 1: there is no Mozilla or Firefox folder in the start menu;. 2: when I said 4 FF to return by default, I had all the features of FF 3 instead. I reinstalled the browser, but that has not helped. Advice would be much appreciated.

    Two problems:

    1. when I said Firefox 4 to return to the default toolbar, he returned to v. 3. I reinstalled v. 4, but that did not help.

    2. I tried to open it in safe mode and discovered that there is no Mozilla or Firefox folder in my Start menu.

    I'm the home runnint Windows 7, 64-bit.

    1.

The orange Firefox button appears when the menu bar is hidden. Turn off Bar Menu item in view > toolbars or from the context menu for toolbars.

    2.

You can open the Firefox 4.0 SafeMode pressing the SHIFT key when you use the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.

Or use the Help menu option, click restart with the disabled... modules while Firefox is running.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the shortcut of Firefox to open it again.

  • Drag files from a folder on the docking station to a folder in the finder (El Capitan)

We have recently improved Mavericks in El Capitan at work and I noticed some lost (apparently) features. Is no longer, I can click on my downloads on my dock folder and drag a file into a folder in the Finder. When I try to do it now, nothing happens, regardless of the file type.

It is a small annoyance, but it was very convenient I wanted to download a file and do not have to navigate to the folder that is specific to each time. I often deal with lots of images and files on a single task, so it's much faster to send them all to my downloads and grab them off the Dock since she ordered chronologically downloads it.

Someone has the same problem and have a solution?

    (Card: OS X El Capitan, Version 10.11.6, iMac 27 inches, end of 2013, 3.5 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, 500 GB, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775 M 2048 MB)

What happens if you try to drag the file in the downloads folder in your user/Home folder?

  • Export the list of files in a folder in the Explorer

How to export a list of files that that are in an excel file or a text document? Preferably excel.

    Thank you

    Tom

You must have the directory you want the list on your hard drive (not a network share even if a mapped drive may work?

Files should be displayed in the format of details in the directory.

    (1) type cmd in the start menu to bring up a prompt back
    (2) use the (for example) "cd C:\Users\BobJones\Desktop\New folder" command to navigate to the folder in question
    (3) use the command "DIR > doggy.csv ' to create a file named doggy.csv in the same directory that you open directly with excel. Nothing looks much lik that it happens, but you unlike find the small file as expected.

    Good luck!

    Hi chrism43238735,

May I know the process to convert Doc to PDF files. If you use Acrobat to convert the files, and then with the same application you open.

If you used another process, in this case try using the Adobe Acrobat Reader application. Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution
