Mac remove cookies on 'Close' vs. ' Quit?
On a Mac. I have set cookies to remove the closure of Firefox. BUT clicking on close (red X radio button) is not like on a PC. The Mac it basically puts in the dock as a minimum. So, I have to exit the application. Is it possible to delete/remove the cookies and cache to the ' closing?
Preferences to clear the browser cookies/history occur when you EXIT the application (for example Firefox) completely. By clicking on the red button closes the current window (i.e. all tabs of this group), but Firefox is still technically open: as most Mac apps work. For compensation to take effect, you must quit the app (Cmd + Q, or in the main menu, Firefox > quit Firefox)

Why do I get 3rd party cookies when I installed firefox never accept them?
On the privacy options, I set myself to never accept third-party cookies, with a few exceptions. G mail is an exception and I know they put cookies on my computer ad, but you can disable them. I continue to by clicking on disable this annoying window and they another browser window even if I put "open new windows in a new tab instead.
Hmm, that's a little extreme. Could test you mode without failure of Firefox? In Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily disables extensions, hardware acceleration, and a few other advanced features to help you determine if they are at the origin of the problem.
Does not work if Firefox: Hold down the SHIFT key when you start Firefox.
If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:
- button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
- Help menu > restart with disabled modules
and OK reboot.
Two scenarios: A small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not update).
Any improvement in the situation of Youtube ads? (More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode)

Hi Lisa, you could first check your settings on the Options page, Privacy panel, as described in this article:
Web sites say cookies are blocked - pledge

What is the path for the storage of cookies
On my computer, I installed WinPatrol and at the end of each browsing session, I used to make use of it's 'see the cookies' the function to remove. Recently, I had reason to update FireFox and since then the cookies in WinPatrol visualization function no longer works. According to WinPatrol, it's because the 'filepath' where are stored the cookies have been deleted. Unfortunately, I do not know which is the path or how to restore. If someone out there could tell me what it is and how to restore it I would be eternally grateful. And Yes, I know that I am a fool and shouldn't be allowed near a computer this is why I am asking for help.
Thank you.You can leave the cookies expire when Firefox is closed to make the session cookies.
- Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: keep until: "closing of Firefox".
Create an exception to "allow" cookie for the cookies you want to keep.
- Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: Exceptions

How can I keep the cookies but remove connections
Hello. I want to know something in FireFox. I want to know I want to keep my cookies but remove all connections when I close my Firefox. I Googled it a lot but couldn't find an answer. Therefore, it is possible to do. Yes, I went to options-life private-clear history when firefox is farm-settings only active connections checked and others off the coast. I logged in to twitter, closed firefox and then I opened firefox and went to twitter and was connected. It does not solve my problem. So please help me. I just want to keep cookies, but disable all connections.
A detail as a website to remember you (automatically log you) is stored in a cookie.
You can use these steps to make a Web site recognize and remember you:
- Create a cookie 'allow' except to keep these cookies, in particular in the case of secure websites and when the cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
- Tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: Exceptions
You must remove cookies for a Web site to make the site forget about you.
"Active connections" are on servers that use Basic authentication and use cookies to authenticate (remember you).
If you use 'Clear history of Firefox closing' to clear Cookies can exclude cookies and instead of letting the cookies expire when Firefox is closed to make the session cookies.
- Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: keep until: "closing of Firefox".
Create a cookie exception 'allow' for the cookies you want to keep as special cookies "remember me".
- Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: Exceptions
Firefox stores cookies used in the tabs that are currently open in the file sessionstore.js as part of the saved session data, so these cookies will be restored if Firefox is closed without first closing of these tabs.
You can set the browser.sessionstore.privacy_level pref 2 (never) or 1 (not HTTPS) on the topic: config page to deactivate the saving of cookies via session restore in the sessionstore.js file.
The browser.sessionstore.privacy_level_deferred pref is used when you do not reopen last session automatically via "show my windows and tabs from last time" and use the same values. -
This happened with a recent update; It worked before, but now, no password is registered and I can not access my Bank (sitehttps://www.labanquepostale.com/particulier.html indicates that cookies must be enabled to access the customer area), and Statcounter requires also that daily entry of the password.
Two sites work correctly on IE11 (I use windows 10 - don't like Edge!)
Don't follow not, and follow-up care are checked. Custom settings - cookies - accept the 3rd part of visit - don't forget not check passwords.
Have you tried to use the site with basting disabled protection?

I can't sign YouTube now due to cookies. (and no, I've already tried).
I can't go back on Youtube now because I can't understand how to enable cookies. I followed all the instructions and nothing works. (I think some of the stuff is outdated, because I don't have the same options). > Thank you <
If there is no sensitive, irreplaceable history or bookmarks, its possible to reinstall Firefox for Android.
