Under media folder directory tree - is it possible

Hi all

I use the SMIL file to manage the f4v files:

< smil >
< head >
< base meta = "rtmp: / vod /" / >
< / head >
< body >
<>switch
< src = "video mp4:intro_300.f4v" system-bitrate = "300000" / > "
< src = "video mp4:intro_500.f4v" system-bitrate = "500000" / > "
< src = "video mp4:intro_700.f4v" system-bitrate = "700000" / > "
< src = "video mp4:intro_1000.f4v" system-bitrate = "1000000" / > "
< src = "video mp4:intro_1500.f4v" system-bitrate = "1500000" / > "
< / switch >
< / body >
< / smil >

It works fine, as long as I keep all f4v files vod/media/default folder. I need to organize my support structure somehow because it's more than 400 files. How can I do this? I tried:

(1) creation of directories under vod, i.e. vod/test1 with < base meta = "rtmp: / vod/test1 /" / > and placement of files f4v directly in test1

(2) the same f4v files but put under test1/vod/media /.

It does not work. is it possible to place individual f4v files in different directories under vod / root?

Please, advise.

Thank you

Andy

Instead of making all these combinations, you keep .smil file such as she.

Place your multimedia files anywhere where you want to be and just set up all these places in your VOD application Application.xml.

Say for example you want to have media files in the folder "test1" and "test2" under VOD media file, you can do more, open Application.xml and make following changes

/; \applications\vod\media\test1

/; \applications\vod\media\test2

If your application. XML would look like this:

/ ; ${VOD_COMMON_DIR}

/ ; ${VOD_DIR}

/; \applications\vod\media\test1

/; \applications\vod\media\test2

So no need to change your .smil file, you can get it works this way.

  • Artists showing several times but in the same media folder?

    Hi people,

    A bit of an irritating problem and that, despite several attempts to trouble shoot, I have been unable to solve.

    As iTunes traditionally organizes the library along the lines of the "Album Artist", I always used this tab to keep my library in order regarding artists.

    What I've noticed in recent weeks, it is that when I select artists in the sidebar, I could see:

    AC/DC: 5 albums, 70 song etc.

    Then below in the column of artists AC/DC, 3 albums 40 songs etc.

    I thought that this could be easily fixed by say changing the artist album to 'AAA' tags and which would group them together under a single artist label.

    Unfortunately no, what I get instead is the same as above only in AAA, that is to say

    AAA: 5 albums, 70 song etc.

    Then below in the column of artists another AAA, 3 albums 40 songs etc.

    Even when I try and change all new back to AC/DC, its still in the form view. As far as I can see, all the other values in the "Get Info" tab are the same.

    Basically when you go and look at the drive where the folder media, AC/DC of all albums are in one folder. They display properly in the media folder but showing not correctly in the application?

    Any ideas how I can fix it more irritating?

    On my mac, media folder is stored on external hard drive because of the size, the rest of the files in the folder music as a default value.

  • How to point iTunes in my Media folder, which is now on an external drive?

    Hi all, my first post!  I have a 500 GB, late 2009 iMac just put update to El Capitan (10.11.2).  A year or two ago, I moved my 250 GB iTunes Media on a Seagate 1 TB more Drive folder to save space.  Don't me remember how I did it, but cela worked in any case and I have not had any problems with access, add, manage my music, etc, etc.

    However, I'm about to massively increase my music library and bought a Seagate Expansion to 4 to drive the contain (reformat first to OS X journaled extended).

    I did a right drag-and-drop of the 1 TB drive more Expansion 4 TB drive.  So far so good. But I don't know now how do the Mac itself knows where to look for music!

    I looked into iTunes-> preferences-> advanced and it says that my iTunes media folder location is under/Users/MY NAME/iTunes/iTunes Music, but this isn't the case since music itself is certainly in the external hard drive.

    Can someone advise me what to do?  I tried to read a lot of similar topics, but nothing seems to fit quite in my situation - and my head is spinning!

    Kind regards!

    G

    Ideally, you do not move the media, you let iTunes by selecting the new location of the advanced preference within iTunes folder, and then hold to the new drive.  Change the media folder location alone does not get iTunes to use the old media in this folder.

    Now, you have several options.

    (1) do in the manner mentioned above.

    (2) information about a broken link, and then search for the file on the new drive, which should be placed. iTunes will ask you if you want to find other, say Yes and be patient.

    (3) if it is a record nine and you can make sure that the press file is located in the same structure as it was on the former, and you can rename the drive to have exactly the same name as the old one you can trick iTunes into thinking that nothing has changed.

  • "User directory tree HAND "?

    Hello

    I had to reinstall the operating system and now when a user connects to a directory tree is created as a "user. HAND '. Why is this and I correct?

    Thank you
    Doug

    If "user. MAIN", user is the name of the logged in user and MAIN is the name of the computer, and this directory is created in the"\Documents and Settings"folder, then this is probably the result of a corrupt user profile.  To retrieve, select from the following items:

    "How to recover damaged Windows XP user profile"
      <>http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/555473 >

    "How to copy data from a corrupted to a new profile in Windows XP user profile"
      <>http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326688 >

    Usually corrupt profiles are accompanied by corruption of system files, so an operation "chkdsk" with the /F or/r option is a step in careful follow-up interview:

    Too many times have I given ridiculous people with file names and folders structures.

    You may be able to create a link to a directory close to the files you want to learn to (probably something similar was done by the application that supposedly does this) using something like the old command SUBST to start a directory/drive (or give the impression that even when it starts) at a different point than the original reality (google for the subst command.)

  • Create a directory tree: how to call a global function from inside a for loop

    Hello

    I am trying to create a workflow that will create a directory tree in vCenter.

    Concept:

    Basically, I am trying to execute nested for loops for each level of the tree to the caller a global tree.

    Problem:

    The 1st loop for works and creates the file 'Dev '.  The second loop for does not work with error message:

    I think it has to do with JavaScript not being not able to call a global function in a nested object (I'm not a programmer and don't know JavaScript, so don't shoot me on that :)

    Code: (will clean this up once I do work)

    Hello

    The createFolder() method returns the object VcFolder to the folder just created, for the new file to be used immediately.  Here is how I modified the code:

    Create the files folderBase level
    for (var i = 0; i)
    var newBaseFolder = buildFolderTree (parentFolder, folderBase [i]);
    Create the files folderT1 level
    for (var j = 0; j)
    var newT1Folder = buildFolderTree (newBaseFolder, folderT1 [j]);
    Create the files folderT2 level
    for (var k = 0; k)
    var newT2Folder = buildFolderTree (newT1Folder, folderT2 [k]);
    Create the files folderT3 level
    for (var x = 0; x)
    var newT3Folder = buildFolderTree (newT2Folder, folderT3 [x]);
    Create the files folderT4 level
    for (var y = 0; y)
    var newT4Folder = buildFolderTree (newT3Folder, folderT4 [y]);
    }
    }
    }
    }
    }

    function buildFolderTree (parentFolderObj, folder_name) {}
    System.log ("Building folder" + folderName);
    var newFolder = parentFolderObj.createFolder (folderName);
    System.log ("directory of frame:" + folderName);
    return NewFolder;
    }

  • Impossible to link existing audio in imovie to new itunes media folder project

    I have an older imovie project that uses audio that has been in the itunes music folder.  I have since it consolidated in itunes media.  So, the song is more in the music folder. IMovie will link like this in the file folder rather than the media of music and he is no longer in the music.  How can I either return to the song the folder music force imovie to look for the link in the itunes media folder.  I edited the audio and would rather delete and re-import. I use imovie 10.

    I don't know exactly what you did here, but it would seem to me you can option-do drag the song edited since the multimedia file back in the music folder (copy, no travel).

  • ITunes media folder location has changed, but it keeps resetting to the default location

    Hello

    I changed my iTunes media folder location. My internal drive has two drives (was originally a Fusion player, after a system crash, I had to clean it and install Mac OS from scratch and is no longer read as a reader of fusion, but I agree with it), so one of the discs that I use for the OS itself and the other to store the data. I've changed most of my files application for the storage disk storage. When I change the location of folder of media to iTunes, after reboot, it restores the original file to ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media.

    Why does that happen?

    If this info can help, I do not have the bluetooth icon in the menu bar, so I removed it by opening bluetooth preferences and unchecked 'see the bluetooth in the menu bar. He disappears. When I restart, it seems once again, it is not happened to Yosemite.

    Thanks in advance.

    iTunes will revert to the default locations, if the configured drive is not present when iTunes opens. This happens if the drive is not mounted or asleep...

  • Songs in the iTunes Media folder not in iTunes library

    The iMac all my iTunes songs were dying, so I have them saved on a hard drive external and then transferred in my Macbook. Now, all the songs are in the folder iTunes Media, but they will not appear in the library when I run iTunes. If I play one of these songs, it will add it to the library, but with several thousand songs, which will take much too long.

    So, how do iTunes to recognize songs in the Media folder?

    File > add to library... and choose the folder where your media is.

  • Keep my organized the iTunes media folder

    I was running iTunes on my iMac with the music library on a NAS.  I have a MacBook Pro which also access the library. No problem.  Then my iMac died and I made the mistake of checking "keep my iTunes media folder organized on the MacBook.  Big mistake.  iTunes proceeded to totally presented the folder.  Now, the music play iTunes (file not found).  Albums are incomplete.  When I look at the files and folders on NAS, it is total disarray, with files and folders in all directions.  An album file which had 11 titles in her previouldy now has only 2 and I have no idea where are the other 9.  Another album has a folder that it contains that bears the name of a different album with all the tracks for this album in it.  Can someone help me to solve this mess?  Most of my music is ripped from CDs I own and some is on the cloud (I bought the Apple music).  Thank you in advance.

    iTune 12.4.3.1, OS X 10.11.3.

    Best regards

    Simon

    It seems to be a classic case of iTunes for some reason, do not like to work with NAS. Sometimes, it works. Sometimes locations of files and/or names may be wasted.  We don't know why, but it is likely how the NAS interface software works and editing a Unix Mac address format used for anything that uses the SIN.  The long-term solution is to use the NAS for backup and use a standard hard drive to the library (Yes, I know, you don't want to hear it).  The short term solution is to restore your library from your backup.

  • Put iTunes Media folder back in its original location?

    I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro to a 2 TB SSD is more partition my main drive.  I used to keep iTunes Media folder on a separate data partition.  Now, I would like to return the iTunes Media folder to its original location / considered.

    Is there a particular process I should follow?  Any tips?  What should I watch out for, so I don't lose anything?

    Thank you!

    Hello

    First of all, you can make a copy of the media on a separate volume of additional backup, if you can.

    You don't say where the media folder is now, but if it's on the old disk, just copy or move the folder iTunes media to users / your name/music/iTunes. Open iTunes preferences / advanced, and then set the location of the iTunes media folder by change to hit and then navigate to the iTunes folder and select the folder that you moved.

  • iTunes Media folder TimeCapsule

    Hi all

    I know that this has been discussed already, especially on this post: Re: iTunes media folder resets is closed.

    I'm in the same exact situation, I moved my iTunes Media folder on my TC since space is a rare thing on a MacBook air... Now almost every time I open iTunes I have to manually change the media folder location that has changed the default location. It's really annoying...

    At first I put it on an external hard drive connected to the TC, but he was far too slow. Now directly on the TC, it's fast enough. I backup my media folder automatically on the external hard drive via a synchronization software.

    If I understand the above post, it's not ideal, and the best place to put the media folder remotely is an external HD connected directly to the mac. Which is a little stupid for a MacBook air...

    So my question is, what is the best configuration for avoid me the reset of the media folder, and store multimedia files on the network, or the TC?

    Thank you

  • Y at - it a bug with the checkbox 'Keep iTunes media folder organized' preference?

    My iTunes for Windows version 12.3.3.17 music library has always organized automatically by itunes with all the files placed in the album and records of the artist, with the song title names preceded the disc number, track number, etc..

    I don't like it. This creates a maze of unwanted, unnecessary nested folders such as [name of artist]------\(tune list) [Album 1 name], [artist name]------[Album 2 name] \(tune list), etc.  or, in many cases, [artist name] \Unknown Album\(tune list).

    I have cloned my Itunes Media\Music file and traversed the clone, all music files manually non-breeders (all I want is artist Name\ [tune list]...) I don't want to see songs of the artist sorted into subfolders based on the album of the artist names, and I am certainly not zillions of subfolders "Unknown Album" being intended to receive the different air in cases where iTunes is unable to identify the name of the album because at some point in the past, I've copied CD tracks on my PC as .aiffs and then imported into iTunes to mp3 stripping inadvertently names album from metadata of files.)

    Once the clone folder was all cleaned up, I opened iTunes and it deleted my entire library of music.

    I closed iTunes, DISCONNECTED MY COMPUTER FROM the INTERNET and then restarted iTunes. In PREFERENCES, I made sure the checkbox 'Keep iTunes media folder organized' has been DISABLED so that iTunes can no longer "place files in folders of album and artist and name the files based on the number of the disc, track number and the title of the song.

    Finally, I imported my cleaned files of music together collection, in the clone folder in iTunes.

    Once this is done, I closed iTunes and then manually open my folder of C:\Users\[me]\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music to observe and enjoy the fact that he was, hopefully finally organized my way.

    To my surprise, when any iTunes my library cleaned, he completely ignored my preference setting to NOT "maintain organized the iTunes Media folder. He was once more reorganised in the same maze of unwanted files/subfolders!

    It seems that this particular box really doesn't do anything.  iTunes still examines the metadata of files available (since there is no way, it can access the Internet with disabled connections) and continues to insist on all reorganize in subfolders based on file metadata, EVEN IF you set preferences to prevent it explicitly to do this.

    What Miss me?

    You would need to get the result you wanted to copy the folder "stored until" in the iTunes Media folder and added that copy in the library, or have disabled alternately to copy files to the iTunes folder when adding to Library Media then added support to its original path. When iTunes makes the imported copy, CD rips, format convert, downloads from the iTunes Store, etc. or you add using automatically add to iTunes folder it will always use its nesting default < artist > \Music\ < Media folder > \ < Album > for music. Personally, I think that you are taking the wrong approach. I always fill all the missing details and have my library organized in this sense much like iTunes does, although I don't like the way it truncates names to 40 characters and I keep certain genres like classical music, humor and music stored in their own subfolders. If you really want to impose your own structure take a look at my CustomRenamerscript.
