Uninstall java & all files

If I reinstall the current version for win xp home

Hello
If you walk through it all, then the next step would be a clean format. Make sure you backup and the files you want to keep.

  • JAVA 7 7 update has been installed, do I uninstall JAVA 6 update 7?

    Hello, everyone-

I have windows XP/SP3 with IE v. 8.0.6001.18702.  I received a notice that java 7 day 7 was ready to be installed and that it would be aninstall java 6 update 7 when he did.

installation of java 7 went well, but when I look at my list of programs, java 6 is still there.  of course it does not have uninstalled after all.

Java advises to uninstall older versions when a newer version is installed.  then, when even the java 7 do not uninstall java 6 as it was supposed to, this safe for me uninstall java 6 via "Add/Remove Programs"?

Thank you, kind and generous people who meet our Qs!

PS - I also write this Q in the forum ' windows/windows XP/install-upgrade - enable '.  If I'm not supposed to post a Q in two forums at the same time, please advise me and put it in any forum you think most appropriate.  Thank you.

From Java 6 update 10, the uninstaller built into each new version uses the automatic update improved to automatically remove the previous version, when updating to a newer version of the update. This does not alter the old versions before those installed before the update 10, so they must be deleted manually.

If the automatic update does not work properly, the correct way is to delete all older versions first you may need to reboot several times for registry changes to files/folders to be removed correctly... affect.and then install the latest version of Java, when you have finished.

    Hi Alvaro_900,

-Which is the key that you can't find?

You can find the uninstaller for Java folder in the C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information folder.

Try to uninstall it from there and check.

  • Cannot open all files

    Hello

After re - install java earlier today and try to open a freshly downloaded file, I was invited to the "Open with" menu I accidentally chose javaw.exe. After that, to my despair, I realized that every file on my computer tried to open in javaw, and I was unable to open almost any file. I probably accidentally forgot to unable always 'open files like this with the selected program.

I went to my computer to see that every single program I tried to start, always refused to open and all the shortcut icons were a symbol of java. No browser is open, nothing. Same associated java files didn't respect, because nothing happened when I tried to open "configure java. I went to the control panel and from there tried to configure default programs and what files are these programs open. Java is not on the list.

As a last option, I uninstalled java. Did not help my cause; I was still unable to open my files. Even while trying to open a system restore, I was out of luck 'open with... '. »

At this point, I noticed that the "always use the selected program to open this type of file" is grayed out and that I was unable to change, regardless of any file I tried to open it.

I could not get internet explore to work, even if I move to the location of the file and choose to open with iexplorer.exe, but it did not work.

Chrome, I had to work the same approach, however, after reinstalling Java and try to open the installation file, I get the message 'open with... »

I'm about to tear my hair out in anger and you'd be grateful for any help...

  • Cannot open Firefox even after deleting all files and profiles of school boards.

My computer auto-installé the new Firefox version 40.0.2 (and later 40.0.3) and the browser does not open. It worked and I have not received any error message. I tried every fix I can find here, and even manually, I deleted all of my profiles, folders, program files, uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted my computer, and it still not open. I click on the Firefox button in my bar tasks, the charging symbol goes for a few seconds, then more nothing. Firefox opens and runs without any problems on other computer on computer accounts. I even copied the files of Firefox to the another computer account on which it runs and replaced all files on the computer account that Firefox does not on, rebooted and still nothing. I've been dealing with this issue for over 2 weeks now and am very frustrated because I spent hours trying everything I can find.

This fix does not work either... tried previously and tried again. However I FINALLY got my Firefox to work on mine. I ended up finding a virus free online (ESET online scanner) scanner and do a full scan on my computer in order to remove anything that could cause a problem. I also went through all my computer programs and documents and cookies and temporary internet files and deleted everything which is not necessary or if it is no longer used. I thought it must be something else because Firefox has no problems with other users of the computer, and my original profile worked very well under other computer users when transferred manually. I think something was interfering with Firefox, which is why none of the fixes here worked because they targeted Firefox itself when it seems that it wasn't the problem.

  • How to completely uninstall Java apples for software?

    Hello

I installed Java apples for legacy software (https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572?locale=de_DE & viewlocale = de_DE). I no longer need, because I uninstalled the software. I would like to uninstall Java completely too, due to known security issues. I want to get rid completely of Java, as Apple itself can't take it anymore.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find a clean uninstall routine, there was always some left system files.

You know a way to correctly and completely delete the mentioned above Java version?

    Thank you in advance.

Apple Java can be stopped from the Java preferences application in

    Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities.

Apple Java unlike Oracle Java is incorporated into the system of exploitation, but cutting the feature will disable entirely.

If this is not enough, you should make a backup of your hard drive and consider reinstalling a clean operating system instance.

AFAIKT Apple does not provide any indications to remove Apple Java OS 10.11, but a suggestion on the developers to remove OS 10.9 forum can be found here.

It is prudent to always back up your system when a suggestion to remove or install something is offered by anyone. It goes without saying: proceed at your own risk.

    to remove Java Oracle

    Open Terminal and type:

    sudo rm -fr /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin
    sudo rm -fr /Library/PreferencePanes/JavaControlPanel.prefpane

All first please update for Firefox 18.0.1 Firefox updated to the latest version

  • I just got a new Windows 7 computer. How I completely restart the entire computer and lose all files, applications, etc., that never came with the computer first?

    * Original title: restart the computer

I just got a new Windows 7 computer, and it has many applications in this shift makes the apps that I really need. How can I completely restart the computer world and lose all files, applications, etc., that came with the computer first

If these are apps you added and want more, you can use the functionality of your computer factory restore. Unfortunately, this erases the disk and leave you with a double précis of his State when you turned on for the first time.  Then, you would have to do all the updates of Windows and then install all the programs you want.

Otherwise, use programs uninstaller (from Control Panel) for each application that you do NOT want to uninstall.

  • uninstalled Java, try t re-in-stall, cannot because of "this action is only valid for products that are currently installed Windows 7.

Having Windows 7 Service Pack 1.  Had to uninstall Java/Pogo games but when you try to reinstall Java a window pops up saying, "this action is only valid for products that are currently installed.

I used Revo UN-install, but when I checked the Panel he showed Java with a folder instead of the Java icon.  I tried to find what file or folder, it is the case, find nothing.  Please help if you can.

    Thank you.

This sounds like your problem? - http://forums.whatthetech.com/index.php?showtopic=104537&hl=This+action+only+valid+products+that+currently+installed+Windows

It lists the reg keys his looking, then you might check to see if you put them before doing anything.

Back up your registry and set a restore point before taking any action - assuming that is your problem.

Also, if you download and run the file, AV check it before running it - just in case.

NOTE: the above was found by google, I have not tried that I have not had the error. I can't say if it works or not.

PS - Also, FYI, while the research I found this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/893048 , but it seems specific to XP - SP2. Don't know if there is an equivalent W7.

I came across this error after cleaning the virus disc and went to uninstall java on the advice of technical support of windows information. on uninstalling Adobe flash player and Java after the removal of virus.

If the PC was delivered used, the first thing you should have to do a restore to factory state using the recovery disks of the decision makers, or the restore partition hidden, since you don't have any idea what the origonal user could have made on the pc for example kiddie "pawn."

In all cases you don't uninstall the earlier version, you the last version which removes any previous version in the update/install process

  • Open dialog box appears only not all files

I just bought a new iMac (Yosemite 10.10.5 running version) and I have a problem with Illustrator (race 2015.1.0) when I try to 'open' or 'save' a document all my files in any folder are not displayed.  No matter how big or small the dialog box is that all files are more fit in this box.  It's a little hard to explain so I enclose a photo.  There are dozens of additional files that should be showing in this area.  On the right side of the box, you can see how file names are cut off.  There is more to the right of that.  I'm not able to reproduce the problem in photoshop or any other program on my computer so I figure it's a framework or a problem in illustrator.  Anyone can shed some light on this?

I do not wish to use the column view that I need preview buttons.

    Screen Shot 2015-09-28 at 8.01.03 AM.png

    ammyzan,

If you use the column view, run away until Apple has resolved the issues.

I think that the good order/way is to update the operating system, and then reinstall the applications. Which was how you did it?

If this isn't the case, it may be best to reinstall using the way complete three steps (the otherwise strange things may persist):

    (1) uninstall (check the box to delete the preferences),

    (2) run the cleanup tool, see the link below,

    (3) reinstall.
