  I use OID to store users in different organizations/kingdoms. I use DAS to delegate administration so that users with certain privileges can create new users. One of the fields that the user must enter when you create new users is uid (userID). OBIEE uses the OID data to authenticate users.
  
  When users are created two users in different areas with the same user name can be created in different kingdoms in OID. OBIEE however requires unique user name to authenticate users. Can someone of you guide me please know what steps I need to take to make sure that userID in different kingdoms are unique, while authentication in OBIEE arrives without hassle.

  I would like to know if its possible to set up Windows so remote desktop if a user is already connected to a particular computer and another user attempts to connect, an error message appears on the screen saying a user is already logged on.

  I can limit the number of connections to 1 through:

  Local Group Policy Editor > templates Admin > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session host > connections

  However, with this option, the error message that appears on the screen is as follows:

  "This computer can't connect to the remote computer, try again or contact your network administrator.

  Is it possible to configure this to allow users to know why they cant login so that they do not think its a COMPUTER error?

  We use Windows 7 on clients and the host.

  Any advice would be much appreciated...

• Can't access my files doc as a user unique vs administrator user?

  I have created my user access on Vista as administrator and load programs, files and doc files to my hard drive.

  Having some problems on programs not able to run in administrator mode, I created a unique user account.

  Disconnected as administrator and logged as a user, and now I can't access my files and folders of the doc, it is not visible in the c drive.

  How to access these files from the doc in addition to completing the session as a user and login as an administrator?

  It is very easy to give the users rights to other folders by right-clicking on a folder or a file and selecting Properties, then security (re para below I just checked prior to this announcement and there is a link on the Security screen 'learn on the access control and permissions'. If logged in as an administrator, then you can do what you like, connected as a user for you only the things you 'clean '. However if it is simple to do, you should also understand its effects. If your machine is used only by yourself or people that you are happy to have provided full access to the hard drive then you don't remove no permission and that you are confident, no one will remove/mess with the files they don't own then begin.

  It would be a good idea to type "permissions" in windows 'Help and Support' and spend time following the topics that seem to be relevant. A quick google didn't find an idiots guide - everything seems to be 'network' based and has too much information. I think that following the instructions in this Microsoft Knowledge Base article [how to configure file sharing in Windows XP | http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040] will allow you to get what you want in the safest way. I am new to Windows 7, but have no reason to think there will be much difference in the "screens". • user vmtoolsd.exe instance does not work

  Running VMWare Fusion 4 (latest version 4.1.2) with a guest from Windows 7 Professional.  The guest computer belongs to a Windows domain.

  I don't have a copy/paste/drag-and-drop functionality / unit.  The suspension/shutdown/restart all are prefixed with 'Force '.

  After searching around, I found out that all of this functionality is supported by the user instance of vmtoolsd.exe using the "n vmuser' switch.

  The problem I have is that the process crashes with no errors/logs/messages that I can find.  Is it possible to debug the process or know why it crashes?

  I tried to re - install VMWare Tools several times in several conditions (Run As...) who have worked.  I rebooted after each assembly/disassembly.

  I know the OP of this thread is a bit old, almost a year and I don't know why I initially missed it first however since you have just referenced this thread in your answer Re: vmtoolsd.exe Will not start to process USER, I though that I would answer the second edition of this album...  It seems that the Virtual Machine is not created in VMware Fusion and as an example if I copy a Virtual Machine from one of my windows on my Mac, it displays the orders of 'Force' by default.  In other words, pressing the Button Option is at the back of what its supposed to be.  It is because the following options are missing in the .vmx of the Virtual Machine configuration file.

  powerType.powerOff = "soft"
  powerType.powerOn = "soft"
  powerType.suspend = "soft"
  powerType.reset = "soft"
  

  By default, VMware Fusion creates these options in the .vmx of the Virtual Machine configuration file is not the case of VMware Player/workstation.  Then, add only the options above for the .vmx of the Virtual Machine configuration file and 'strength...' commands will then exhibit a normal behavior VMware Fusion.  This means that to access orders 'Force' you must press the Option key pressed.

  Post edited by: WoodyZ - another scenario and not the only other to do this is a P2V/V2V, using VMware vCenter Converter to create the Virtual Machine as if I remember correctly it omits these options as well.

  In my process, using BPM 11.1.1.6, there are two corridors. The first corridor (SUBMITTER) allows you to instantiate an instance, and after that some tasks in the service, the user moves to the next human task, in the same way. On request, the instance moves to the second hallway (APPROVER). However, if the applicant has not yet presented the second human task (say it just saves) then all other authors of the COMMUNICATION in the same way SUBMIITER, can see his data! Apparently, it's because the instance is given the role of the ISSUER and not attributed to the person of instantiation.
  
  How can we limit the instance be assigned or limited ONLY to the user instancing (during his life in the way of the TRANSMITTER), while other authors of communication may not see his body?

  PS: are we instantiate the task via API, so we have the flexibility to make an API call if we know what API call will solve this problem. THX.

  One thing you'd want to double check before continuing is to see how the 'creator' predefined variable has the value entered into the human task is defined (not sure what it is about when the API is used).

  Assuming that the 'creator' (or other string variables) is set to userid of the initiator, here are the steps to assign that person to the task in a later human task.

  1. open the human task.
  2. click on the tab "assignment."
  3. click on the icon with the person in it-> click the 'change '.
  4. in the drop-down list, select 'Names and Expressions'-> make sure the 'Value-based' option button is selected-> click on the + icon on the right-> sub select 'Type of Identification', 'User'-> slot 'Type of data' select 'by the term'-> slot 'Value' click on the button «...» ».
  5 expand the 'task'-> scroll down and select "task: creator" (or any string variable that you set for the user ID of the person who created it in the API)-> click "Insert into the Expression"-> click on 'OK'-> 'OK '.

• Admin view assigned to a single server vCenter with 4 users

  Hello.   We have a connection with a server vCenter Server view.  Our problem is that we have this server a vCenter figure 4 times on the View Manager Configuration. Servers page.  Each instance has a unique user ID.  I was told that it is a bad habit.  We use View Manager 4.0.

  Specifically, let's say our vCenter Server is called Coloradoand our area is called CO.  In the view manager, we click Configuration, then servers.  We have listed under vCenter servers to the following:

  Colorado (service account)

  Colorado (CO\user1)

  Colorado (CO\user2)

  Colorado (CO\user3)

  We have desktop computers using each of them.  We would like for all of our workstations to use the service account.  VCenter Server page is not editable in the dialog box change Desktop.  We would prefer not having to remove pools with undesirable elements and re-create the pools with the service account.  Is there a way to change the elements of the desktop configuration that is not editable in the dialog box change Desktop?

  OK, we ca take a shot at it.   Now I would like to test this on some pools that are not all that important, and would also save my ADAM database to see.

  1: connect to the database of ADAM using dc = dc = vmware vdi, dc = int

  2: Look under the ORGANIZATIONAL unit properties = and OU = VirtualCeter.

  3: find VC failure to use and read the unique name

  4: go to OU = ServerGroups and find the pool that you want to change

  5: go to the properties of the pool to change and find the EAP-VCDN value.   Add the unique name of the instance of VC to use in this area.   Give it a minute or two and see if the correct instance is selected in admin mode.

  Now, I'm sure that this is not supported by VMware at least not without having to open a ticket and I don't know if it's the only place wherever it needs to be changed.  I would test, test, and then test more before doing so on a pool of production.

• HOWTO call "n" independent instances of 'Decimate (continuous) .vi"without putting instances of"n"of the VI on the block diagram?

  I have a double 2D chart I want to decimate continuously using the ".vi (continuous) Decimate" located in the range of Signal Processing. This VI is set on reentrant preallouee clone because it uses a FGV to save the State of the call to.  What I could do, but do not want to, is having a huge index table and wire 20 + 1 table of DBL to 20 + unique VI instances decimate to ensure that each have their own data space and no 'cross-talk' doesn't happen, then 'picture of generation' all back after the fact.

  I'm almost certain, there is a much cleaner way to do it with only one instance of unique block diagram of the VI decimate using techniques of the call by reference.   I found my way to this link: Preallocated-Reentrant-VI-within-Parallelized-For-Loop that talks about something similar.  After reading pages of four and the detailed help about the function 'Open VI référence' my head is spinning again on what option I want to spend (0x08 or 0x40 + 0x100) to ensure that whenever a slna 2D table come in, each of them is decimated by using the same clone that was used the last time it was called.

  Although the DBL entry 2D array always has the same number of lines, now, it is not always in the future this number and ideal would not force me to create several references strictly typed in VI decimate that will have to change as grows the number of rows in the table 2D static DBL.

  Anyone ready to set up an example VI that takes an array 2D arbitrary of DBL as input, decimating each line using the same clone independent of the "Decimate (continuous) .vi" and outputs the newly decimated 2D Array of LDM?  Assume that each line uses the same factor of decimation and 'Sprawl' set to False.

  Necessity is the mother of all invention and since it upsets me when I read a post that has a similar problem with no resolution, I felt compelled to post mine here.   I'm sure it's better I can do within the current state of LabVIEW.   The only question I have is what happens if I put the call by reference for loop be parallelizable?  That trash completely the nature of 1 to 1 of what I intended?
